How come many a time I have been called to the gate by a friends bird for me to try to let them in? Simply because the guards won't let them in and they don't have the minas?" Canadianwarrior 26 Share Posted February 21, 2012 In response to the issue of losing yer passport I hope ye are not that careless with all of yer possesions. In the worst case one of the higher up guards can reference the grand book ((database)). And in response to the spies getting in, aye it is true they have gained entry but about a dozen have been executed so far many even having forged passports. The system is not flawless but far above anything any other realm can put together ((and I dare say a fairly interesting point of rp that only we have)). Archmage_Cataris 622 Author Share Posted February 21, 2012 Whenever my friend or I do try to get into Hanseti, the guards aren't there, and when they are, they can't reference the book ((95% of the time, the guards are offline and were trapped outside, no way to get in and RP))
Guest gwilson3 Share Posted February 21, 2012 ((I do agree that there is too much ooc at the Maw. I do try to keep too much ooc chat from going on, but when guards are stuck manning the gate and no one comes by for a long period of time, there is only so much to do and say ic. It helps to keep everyone from becoming too bored at the Maw and going somewhere else, leaving the gate unattended. At the very least, I'll start a rule that all ooc chat must stop when anyone else is at the Maw.))
Canadianwarrior 26 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Let's frame the issue of the guards not being their correctly. The bulk of the guards are north american based. I'm sure we could make an effort to cover other time zones and expand their roster. They are their and manning often especially during server peak times. Archmage_Cataris 622 Author Share Posted February 22, 2012 ((^Its exactly why im moving to Salvus and our guild with us. I just cannot spend all my afternoon running back and forth letting people in, or being caught outside myself, nor do I wish to have to pay just to visit my house and do my job, I spend more on passports then I earn.)) Cracker 4570 Share Posted February 22, 2012 * A little note is scrawled by this Petition* I du wish tew note det de passports make people really reluctant tew visit er trade in Hanseti. I was guin' to buy a shop but wen I realized customers wuud have to pay minas just to enter de city I realized it'd be difficult tew garner traffic. I hope d'ere be a way around dis. Ezo Karasuga 356 Share Posted February 22, 2012 I happen to support the passport system and the benefits it provides the realm. I have plenty of extra parchment at my research lab if anyone needs to make a copy of their passport. I am here to serve the people. Military matters are out of my hands but there should be a more efficient way or process to regulate traffic at the maw. ((Perhaps when the last guard is at the maw, the gate is left open. Sorta like old Al Khazar?))

Canadianwarrior 26 Share Posted February 22, 2012 ((Sorry about the double post above and the lack of brackets I was on my phone. The passports are only really checked when its someone the guards or the sarient's don't recognize or to confirm someone identity for an arrest. I don't know how you can constantly loose your passports. Can you now simply make a bookshelf and copy them? I'm sorry for the loss but this is an attempt to offer a different type of citizen rp system. If we are not for you I understand.))
susitsu 871 Share Posted February 22, 2012 ((The issue is that bookshelf AND book perms are COMPLETELY messed up. Ive been told that the issue is being worked on, and will hopefully be fixed asap. The system would work great if bookshelves weren't unusable currently.))

Canadianwarrior 26 Share Posted February 23, 2012 ((If this is the case, perhaps we could offer 1-2 free copies of passports until the issue is resolved?)) ((The problem is to issue a new passport is a lot of work. Its like writing out a 3-4 page book with unique information every time. If you are "silly" enough to constantly loose it you should face a penalty. I will have the price reduced on replacements but its like your walking around drunk all the time with your passport on your main bar, I cant think of any other reason you would constantly loose it.)) Archmage_Cataris 622 Author Share Posted February 23, 2012 ((These passports are not the only problem though, but the gates. There is one way into Hanseti, that doesn't take hours of climbing and searching. That one entrance is always closed, no one is ever about to open it.))
