I am a Freshman that aspires to be a metallurgist. I play Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Tenor Saxaphone, and am a straight A student. I spend My free time playing minecraft, Dungeons and Dragons, and Civilization.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying is acting out a role and causing people to become immersed in your acting. I know it is the prime aspect of plays, movies, and other preforming arts.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I play Dungeons and Dragons (a fantasy roleplaying game), RP servers on World of Warcraft (fantasy RP video game), and have done some miscellaneous RP on other games.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is using your knowledge of the outside world of knowledge from an outside viewpoint to change the outcome of the game.

Power-Gaming is when you set aside most everything in a game and focus on a specific task, normally completion or getting better things.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect this server to be fun, immersive, and provide a challenge, in which to better my RP skills. Also, I think the community will be nice and welcoming.

I have played on some servers with my friends, but only a few times.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Ulysses WkAmil was born to the WkAmil line of dwarves that made their money mking and selling dyes. Ulysses learned at a young age how to properly colour wool and where to get certain types of dye. His small, but well-off clan were also bards, often playing music or singing songs. He learned many other skills, including mining and fighting, which is dwarf custom. He was and is always ready to lend a pick, or sword, to a friend in need. Ulysses developed a love for learning and exploring. He loved traveling, as he often did with his father to sell dye in town. He always wanted to know more, and enrich himself with other cultures.

All WkAmil’s share a dirty-blonde hair colour, along with brown eyes. Ulysses is not the largest dwarf, and seems rather petite when standing next to his bretheren. He is very pesemistic, but is very oddly happy about it. He is an honest dwarf looking for honest work, and always strikes fair deals. He is a stalwart upholder of the law, and follows it to the best of his ability. After leaving his clan to pursue a life of dye-trading and exploring at 25, he sings to whoever will listen on the road.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

To learn as much as possible about the world, entertain it with song, and to make an honest living trading dyes.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Ulysses’ favorite tool is the pick, being a favored tool among most dwarves.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Making, trading, and selling dyes and other items.

Ulysses often befriends anyone who will be around him, having a likeable personality. He also bears the WkAmil crest with pride upon his chest and back, showing his dwarven heratige.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

My character walks calmly over to the bandits, asking them to politely leave. If they refuse, and he has a sword, he challenges them to a duel. If he doesn’t have a sword, he offers his belongings instead of the halflings. If they decide to take everything, he runs to the nearest guard post or armoury to retrieve his stolen goods.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Ulysses brighly states: “ ‘ello lad, what have ye to trade?” and continues to trade with the man, offering him dyes and other items he has collected on his travels.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Ulysses checks carefully around the hut for people, and waits several hours by the hut, waiting for someone to return. If nobody does, he takes the items and leaves a note, stating that if they were decent folk hiding their items there, seek him out at [his next destination]. Knowing that most evildoers would seek his death, he would remain alert

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

” 'ello, it be good to see some people! Och, can ye help me, I’m afraid I be lost, all these places looken similar an' all, and need some help gettin' back to de' road. Wouldcha give me directions? Per'aps while tradin' goods?”

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Ulysses jumps at the chance to help the law, offering his services for free, only asking he is allowed to continue operating his business in the city.

Take time to expand upon your character, proof-read your application, read up on server lore and rules and fix the problems with your app. Do not repost you application with 24 hours, use this time to build upon it and ensure perfection. #1 Definition of powergaming is technically correct, but not the one we are looking for. Focus more on a definition that relates to roleplaying directly, and how one interacts with others.

#2 Expand upon your open response answers, provide more detail.

#3 You tread the line of powergaming/mary sue-ing yourself. As one who comes from a family line that specializes primarily in dying, explain your acquired knowledge of swordplay and mining. Who taught you? Why? What is the extent of your abilities in each field? Explain these thoroughly and ensure that it all fits with your character.

#4 Dwarves are subterranean dwellers. Your family has a prosperous history of wool dying. Iron out the inconsistency here with an explanation.
