The Fall Of The Grilo.

(( Basically, right after I got my charter and was starting building on my village, I completely abandoned LoTC for a while. In order to make up for this RP wise, I've decided to change up the lore a bit. This should create a reason why the Grilo clan has been nonexistent. Plus, I get to start anew.))

Of the many clans to try and revive themselves after the Clash of the Clans, the Grilo clan was only one of many. The Grilo's origin revolves around the usage of the blade to express their feelings of Goblin Nationalism. With the migration to Asulon, the Goblins saw it as their chance to break away and bring the Grilo clan to it's former glory. The Rex Mogroka granted them land to build a village and accepted them into the Waruzg, things seemed bright for the future of the Grilo Clan. (Fuller History of the Grilo clan found: here.)

Despite the bright future for the Goblins, hatred stirred elsewhere, in the hearts of a small band of axe-bearing orcs. These Orcs had an irrational-deep hatred for Goblins. Despite the truth of the Goblin's many advancements and contributions to the Orcish race, the band thought they were pests and the downfall of the Orcish Race, they wanted them gone. In this band of orcs there was one individual in particular who would change this band into a clan and usurp the "vile-blood", Gxonab'Grilo from his position as Greatgoblin. This orc was a brute named Kagan.

  • The understood reason for the band's hatred for Goblins is simple. As the band never became a true clan, they felt like they had to prove themselves in strength and power. (Similar to a common day Bully.) - Uncomfortable with thier own weakness, they felt like they needed to belittle anyone they could.

Kagan was a great warrior and earning the respect of this band of orcs was not a hard task. Once appointed the Nob of the Band, Kagan instantly began the transformation of Band to Clan. He named himself Nob Kagan'Karthurg. Using the clan's hatred for Goblins, he combined them all under the name of Karthurg. However, he himself did not have any sort of direct hatred for the Goblins. Helping to train the orcs for battle, they were finally ready to begin their small campaign.

Int he foggy morning, the Karthurg walked through the plains, the grass covered in morning dew. There was no conversation, the orcs simply attacked. The esteemed Shamans spewed fire while the warriors hacked away at the crude wooden walls of Grillion. When the walls crumbled, the orcs ran head first into the rubble.

The few goblins who inhabited the small village did not have a chance. The revived Grilo clan would fall in one decisive battle. The orcs would swing their axes, spewing anti-goblin slurs as their limbs flew about. Everything the goblins established burned to the ground quickly and violently. Of the eight goblins, all were warriors. Of those eight, only one remained standing, Greatgoblin Gxonab.

Gxonab was a smart gobln and a great leader. Kagan respected Gxonab, and Gxonab respect Kagan. Gxonab understood his own weakness and respected Kagan for taking the opportunity to take control. Despite the civility of the situation,t he battle had to turn to savagery in order to consummate. Gxonab was killed with a swift blow. Grilo had fallen, long live Karthurg.

Two things:

#1 I feel like this "random Orc war party X" that held no prior significance in your original concept for the clan has literally been thrown in for the sole purpose of justifying your nationalist thoughts. To me this seems unnecessary, I was fine with the idea that the Goblins just felt the need to prove their worth under the pressure of hidden sub-racism (yea I just coined that term) adding this generic subracist war party feels forced and detrimental to the unique story you had going.

#2 You said Sultan. Immediate fail. Look back in all lore ever written forever and you will see that never has Sultan the word, the rank, the title, the idea or any other premise for the word Sultan ever existed anywhere in any Asulon/Aegis/LotC lore. Ever. Remove that, it is single handedly justifying all the metagamers that walk up to Mogroka and call him the "Sultan of the Orcs".

Sorry about the Sultan part, It means a ruler, mostly by strength and authority. Other words like King is used, I don't see why Sultan could not. I honestly don't see why it caused such an uproar. - I did not mean to cause any sort of offense. The whole reason I decided to stop being Goblins is because there are very few Goblins. My roleplay was not very fun. I talked to Mogroka about having some Orcs conquer the land and he said it would be fine. I wrote this lore here to make sense of it. But sure, I'll change the title. I think you may have misunderstood the whole piece, however. The Grilo clan failed in their efforts, a new clan took their land.

But once again, the whole reason I did this is because the whole Goblin thing was unenjoyable to me.

If he was a leader of a band he would be called a Boss or a Nob.
