*As you head to finish the Mining Hall in New Karik, your eyes alight upon Arbrek sitting on his bed reading from a massive ancient looking tome, writing down notes every so often. Curious, you walk over to him and ask him what he's doing. Sighing, Arbrek sets down the book and fixes you with a long hard glare from under his bushy eyebrows and begins to speak in his deep rumbling voice.*

"Well lad, ye see, I be workin' on teh ancient art o' Runesmithin'. Tis passed down from Yemekar, te Urguan, te Urguan's children, te me. After all this with teh new city settles down, I plan te start teachin' it again, and bring back teh art. I need te Great Anvil though, and teh Smithin' District, so I doubt I will be finished fer a while. No, run off and play in teh mines, I 'ave work to do!"

*Nodding at the ancient smith's command, you head into the mines, musing on what under the mountain "Runesmithing" could be...*

What ye mean with rune smithing, do you use runes one the weapons or do you speak the runes when smithing?

Arbrek, ye cant be serious can ye? Runesmithin' be a dangerous art. I remember findin' a journal of a dwarf who was doin tis, almost all of te pages were burned, of the ones that I deciphered one said, if my memory serves correctely, "Ha, I had done it... My god it be glowin' a redish colour, as I be writin' dis, me axe be lookin fit te explode... It 'as, I write dis with me final strength, do n." then it ends. Tread lightly Arbek.
