A New Weapon

In his lair, while thinking of new and unique ways to kill or maim, the Arcani Redeemer sat and stared at his fire, stuck. What could he make, or do? It had to be unique, and something nobody would expect. After a long time of thinking, he got up, and decided to experiment. He mixed lots of things, most turning into goop, or mixes of useless powder. Others, just didn't mix in general. the Redeemer grew impatient, and decided to go cal himself, by sitting and thinking again. He didn't need to destroy things. He would go back and stare at the fire, for hours it seemed, thinking of new ideas for a weapon.

After a while, the Redeemer realized he still had dust on his hands, a mix of coal and gunpowder. He went to go brush it off, then he thought of something, the gunpowder explodes and lights, and so does the coal. The coal was also something you could hold, and in turn, throw. He looked at his hand, then slowly at the fire, and a a dark smile fromed on his face from under his mask. He could make fireballs, and not have any magical aptitude. This was just what he needed. He had his idea, but then he thought to himself "how will I get these to light without having them on fire all the time?". The answer was simple: Blaze Powder. He already had an abundant supply, and the problem now was getting the right ratio of coal, gunpowder, and blaze powder. He went to work immediately.

The Redeemer spent long, careful hours on his work. He messed up many times. He lost countless amount of gunpowder, and blaze powder. He made many bartering trips, and slayed many monsters. It was more than once he suffered injuries aswell. He had burnt his hands twice, through his gloves, and started wearing leather gauntlets to avoid more burning. He would have burnt his face too, if it were not for the metal mask on his face. He tested many variations of the new weapon, all the ones he managed to make, had unsatisfactory results. They either didn't light, or had a puny little fire, that didn't affect his targets of various chickens, and materials. This was proving a challenge.

After three weeks, and what the Redeemer decided was his final test, he made this one very carefully. He used his notes, and experience to make one final ratio. He used one lump of coal, a moderate pile of gunpowder coated around it, and rubbed in, and then blaze powder sprinkled in a fine powder over it all. The Arcani Redeemer sighed, and took the three weapons to the testing range, where he prepared his final test. He aimed one at a chicken, and tossed, as it impacted the chicken, it burst into flaes, and the chicken incinerated. As this happened, the Redeemer stared, shocked it had actually worked. He gave a alight laugh, then dicided to test the other. He threw the second one at some wood, and it burst into flames as well, burning the wood. The Redeemer was excited, and he redied his third weapon. He hoped it would work, and took aim at a group of animals, and threw it in the center. the ground lit as the weapon hit the ground, and the animals burned, and incinerated.

the Redeemer was overjoyed. His formula worked! He went and recorded it, and tested three more of the weapons, each working. He had finally made his weapon, and it was unknown to all, except him. As he gathered his fellow Arcani, he told them of his work, and his new weapon. They all agreed it was revolutionary, and nobody would expect it, or know how to react. The Redeemer concluded his meeting, and set about making more immediately. His weapon was finally done. But a new problem arose; what were these to be named? The Redeemer thought of the effects and said aloud "Fire Charges. I will call these fire charges." and went back to his work.

[Keep in mind, this is the only lore for Fire Charges, so only people I tell the proper recipe to SHOULD be alble to make them, unless you're using them as a mage of course. I plan on letting the fromula get out if someone doesn't find a recipe in RP]

[[ I've already ran into more then one Alchemist who have 'discovered' the Recipe, one of them even selling it to passer-byers on the road, so your character is most likely not the only person who knows the recipe, the six people at the pavilion in Salvus know of it as well, from him answering one of their questions. ]]

I'm just RPing this, as basically weaker TNT, just because something new is introduced, doesn't really mean lore has to be written of which others HAVE to learn, you can RP it, that's fine, but everyone has their own ideas on the matter.
