Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: luigimario77

How old are you?: 12, 13 in August

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Western United States. PST (-8 GMT)

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am very funny and fairly outgoing. I am an avid reader and I’m very intelligent. That doesn’t mean I don’t like playing though! I love Minecraft and other video games, but have limited time. I get along fairly well with other Minecraft players.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 6-12 hours. I have limited time between school, swim team(I’m quite intense about swim team), and homework.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is where you immerse yourself in a made-up world as a different character that is a different person as you are. You act as if you are in this world and you are this character and act accordingly to what happens in game.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have role-played on a couple of RP-heavy servers such as Romecraft and one that Salamandra(an active player on your server) has a high position on.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is where you receive information OOC and use that in-game when your character technically doesn’t know that. For example: Your friend gives you coordinates to a secret base (OOC) and you go there in game, even though your character shouldn’t know where it is.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is where you don't let others react to your actions. For example: You say *Elrun takes his knife and stabs Bob in the chest 67 times, killing Bob.* then that is Power-Gaming. Another definition is where you do something that isn’t realistic. For example: *Elrun sees a bandit. He shots an arrow that hits his knee(had to do it) which kills him instantly.* or *Elrun jumps off a 500 meter tall mountain. Elrun lives.*

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be full of players who want to RP and have a great time!

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played mainly on Chicken God, Kingdom of Zeenonz, and the Romecraft server. I left the latter because the RP felt a bit lacking and I wasn’t moving very fast through the (RP) ranks. I haven’t left the first two.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes.

How did you hear about us?: Salamandra recommended your High-Elf texture pack and I explored your website.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: I have! My number was 31336

In-Character:

Character Name: Elrun

What Race are you?: Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): High-Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Elrun was born in a fairly large town. It was a center of trade, learning, and art. It was a place of riches and beauty, and Elrun would one day contribute to its beauty. His father was a fairly successful merchant and he expected Elrun to take over his company once he was older. Elrun never showed intrest in the sort while growing up. He always had a lust for adventure and heroics. When he was young he would read books about heroes and adventure. His life was influenced by these books and made him the person he is today. Elrun knew he wanted to be a hero, but his father wanted otherwise. He took little Elrun to his store and taught him in the ways of the merchant. Elrun showed disinterest in it and his father was enraged. He kicked Elrun into the streets and age 16. Elrun had a good education already but continued to go to school. He went to multiple universities and kept on learning thereafter. He had a great education, but he wasn’t ready to take on his ambition to become an adventurer. So Elrun left school, still full with knowledge and went to live with his cousin, a Wood-Elf. His cousin, Eowylyn, was a young elf, approximately 30, while Elrun was 47. Elrun wasn't very used to nature and the plants and animals there. He didn’t consider trees sacred, but he soon would.

Whilst living in the forest the Wood-Elves taught Elrun much of what they believed. He was taught that plants and animals were important, and not to be ignored. He was taught to thank God for a meal if he eats animals, since the small village he lived with was quite spiritual. He became another person. He also trained with their top warriors. He learned to use bows in a different manner that made him, along with the other Wood-Elves, superior archers. They also made him run long distances to build his stamina. After his stamina building they made him run fast. He also took survival lessons. He learned the names and properties of many plants and animals. He also learned how to track down people and examine the ground for clues. After 18 years of training with the Wood-Elves, he was as fast and agile as any other Wood-Elf, and even better than most. He was a quick learner, which made him a very versatile Elf. He also was one of the greatest archers around, even by Wood-Elf standards. With the survival lessons he was perfect to be an adventurer. So he bid his goodbyes and set off.

Elrun went back to see his father. When he got to the town he found that his father had been murdered by a group of bandits while he was working. In his will it stated that Elrun would be given his full forgiveness for his actions. Elrun cried when learning about this and vowed to protect others from this danger. He also vowed to track down the bandits. He examined his father’s corpse and noticed that he died by knife, and a quite large one. He examined the wound further and noticed familiar patterns in the incision. He remember where he saw this, in the forest with Eowlyn. He recognized the cut type to be linked to most Orcish knives. He realized that an Orc who did it, seeing how Orcs rarely deal their weapons. So before adventuring, Elrun set off to the lands occupied by the War Uzgs. When he got there he asked if any Orcs had been known to travel to Druin, his town. Many directed him to a certain guild, the Unseen Guild. A secret guild that was known to be brutal to all races, even Elves. As he tried to talk to one of the members, he was grabbed and blindfolded. They carried him down a long staircase and tied him to a chair. He was scared witless and started screaming for help. They put a cloth in his mouth and un-blindfolded him. He saw that he was in a room that was dark, gloomy, and cold. He saw shackles, bones, and limbs strewn in a corner. He then saw what appeared to be the leader. He was a tall Orc, standing about 10 feet tall. He grabbed a sword and held it to Elrun’s neck. He growled, “What is your business here?” Elrun let out a squeal. He felt trickles of blood on his neck. He held his breath, waiting for the Orc to decapitate him. Then, Elrun heard footsteps echoing from the stairs. Then he heard shouts and the sound of swords meeting. Then, a head rolled down and landed right in behind the leader. He felt the pressure release slightly from his neck, then completely as the warrior came down. The warrior was obviously a human, and he wore a hood and covered his face. His eyes shone with determination and hatred. He then engaged with the leader of the guild and after slashes, stabs and parries, he pierced the Orc’s chest. The Orc fell with a thud. The man then came to Elrun and unbound him. The man then said, “Elf, you are lucky you are alive, I saw them take you and I followed. I killed many up there, Seamus by the way.” Elrun replied, “I am Elrun! Thank you sir! I am most grateful, how may I repay you?” Seamus replied, “Not much, but some Mina for some healing supplies would be nice!” Seamus indicates a gash in his left leg. “I am most glad to give some Minas.” Replied Elrun. They went up the stairs, and once he was up there Elrun gave some Minas to Seamus. They parted ways, but Elrun would never forget the man who saved his life.

At age 55 Elrun finally set off to be an adventurer. Elrun also wanted to be like Seamus, a hero at heart. Elrun finally went off on his famous journey, the 50 Years Journey. He went across Asulon in those 50 years, finding friends, enemies, love, adventure, and fame. During the journey he entered and explored the Nations of Menorcress, Alras, Kal'Urguan, The War Uzg, Salvus, Hanseti, and Renatus. He even found Seamus in the Realm of Hanseti. He asked Seamus to come on the journey and he happily came along for some time. After 7 years of the travel Seamus left and Elrun went to explore on his own. In the farther reaches of Malinor, where he had not been in before, as it was his own nation, he found love. A beautiful young Elf named Zavia. She was a beautiful Elf who Elrun loved deeply. He promised he would come back for her later, but once returning from his journey, he found the village in ruins. He wept for the loss of his most beloved, but he suspected he might have lived, as tracks in the found suggest that she fled. He searched for a year after that but gave up. He continued on his journey after that, visiting all the Nations and the vast wilderness. During his trip he found riches and helped the less fortunate. He did quests to earn money and helped protect villages from bandits and the Undead. When he came back he was fairly well-known for his great journey. He then spent 5 years resting after this great journey.

5 years after the 50 Years Journey, Elrun decided to go travel again, but with the Humans. He visited Seamus in the Realm of Hanseti. Seamus was happy to let Elrun live with him. Seamus and Elrun told tales of their journey to each other and had a good time. Elrun and Seamus decided to travel together again, as they enjoyed each other’s company. Seamus also wanted to be a hero at heart, and he was reaching his goal. They went to help Humans, Dwarves, Orcs, and Elves. They were a helpful duo and considered heroes. They once single handedly defended an entire village from a enormous undead attack. They were well known and if someone needed protecting or was in a plight, they would most happily oblige. Then, while they were in an Dwarven village, Elrun and Seamus were invited to an ale drinking contest. Elrun and Seamus, both having a liking for ale, agreed. That night they went to the bar. It was empty. They called out for the bartender and then, suddenly, an arrow hit out Seamus’s breast. An Dwarf sounded a horn and 5 came out of the shadows. They had axes and bows ready in their hands. They came charging at Seamus. His mail hauberk saved him from most of the damage but he was slow to react. He tried to draw his knife but it fell to the ground as he fumbled to take it out. Elrun, who had sensed the Dwarves a second before the arrow was shot, quickly took out his bow. He shot one in the chest and another near the groin. Elrun, always carrying a weapon, threw a broad sword to Seamus, who caught it. The Elf and the Man stood side by side, slashing and stabbing at the Dwarves. The lead Dwarf, a tall(for a Dwarf) fellow with a nice white beard, took a smaller axe and threw it at Seamus. Seamus took the hit hard in the right arm, his sword arm. Elrun was enraged. He took out his sword, a beautiful weapon that was finely crafted by the best Elven smiths in all of Asulon, and speared the Dwarf with his sword. The Dwarf looked at him and simply died. The remaining 2 looked at each other and ran out, fast as any Dwarf, for this run was for their lives. Elrun looked at Seamus. Seamus was on the floor, next to a slain Dwarf. His arm was cut almost half way and his bone was showing. Elrun immediately knew that Seamus would never be able to fight again. Elrun took Seamus to the inn they were staying at. Elrun had to amputate Seamus’s arm that night and Seamus screamed louder than Elrun had every heard. Elrun could barely do it when he heard his friend scream. But he did, for his own good. He then left with Seamus back to his hometown, where he would leave Seamus to live a less adventurous life.

Elrun left his friend and went home. He decided he still yearned for adventure, but seeing what happened to Seamus he decided to be more careful with his limbs. But he needed a rest, so Elrun decided to. He deiced to stay in Durin for 10 more years, then go off. He spent the time enjoying life. He wrote a book about the 50 Years Journey. It is now a famous book and his stories in it are 100% true. He recounted how he caught 5 bandits in one night, won the 100m dash against the fastest Humans, and won 3rd place against the best Wood-Elves in an archery contest. He made so much money at the time that he bought a large house and helped sponsor aspiring artists, architects, and engineers in Durin. When Elrun’s 10 years were up he started to pack his things. He brought his bow, his quiver of arrows, his sword, and his shield. He also packed necessities, Minas, ale, food, water, his many maps, and a compass. He decided to set of for a couple years at a time, adventuring, questing, and helping others. That his where his story falls into the present. He is out there occasionally, exploring the vast and beautiful Asulon. You will recognize him his dark brown hair, his dark clothing, and with his bow in his hand. If he is in town, check with the guards, for he always converses with them, or at the local pub.

What is your Character's ambitions?: To be one of the greatest adventurer, quester, explorer, and heroes known to Man, Dwarf, Orc, or Elf. He wants to be rich and famous too.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Elrun enjoys using bows. As an Elf, his specialty is using the bow. He enjoys using them from afar and attacking from a safe distance, but with accuracy too. Training with Wood-Elves increased his skill with the bow and he became a very good archer.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Running. As you know, Elrun went to live with Wood-Elves on one of his great travels. He trained with them and became an excellent runner in speed, and stamina. He exceeds most Wood-Elves in running, a great feat for being a High-Elf.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I scan the warriors. They seem fairly well-armed so I don’t engage. I instead hide behind a bush and throw my voice(as a great Human magician taught me). It works and they carefully look around. I then throw it to the opposite way, “Hey! Idiot!” They angrily go towards that voice. I scamper on and pick up the Halfling and run. Even with the Halfling on my shoulder I manage to outrun them. I thank the Wood-Elves for training me and I find a safe town. I give the Halfling a small dagger and some Minas. I tell him directions to the bar, hotel, and other important buildings. He responds, “Thank ye sir! I thought I was dead for sure!” I merely say, “No problem, thugs like those shouldn’t pick on defenseless Halflings.” I go back on my route and continue.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I find a bundle of arrows, for my numbers of arrows are running low. I ask for a price. “That’er be 50 Minas sir!” There are only 25 arrows and they don’t seem very high quality so I politely decline and walk away slowly. He frantically offers lower prices. “45, 40, 35, 30!” I then agree to take arrows for the price. I walk off smugly with my arrows that I bought for a low price.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I search the area for traps. If there any I set them off from a safe distance. Then I take the contents. I search the remaining area for anything else that is of value. I then leave and head to the nearest town to sell the goods. Maybe I can save the goods until I reach Alras and sell it to that merchant where I got those arrows. He drives a hard bargain but I can usually get a good price.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I thank God and quickly get behind the city walls before the Undead are upon me. I ask a guard for a town map and he gives me one. I move my way around and first go to an inn. I pay for my room and deposit my things there. I then go to the bar and order some Mushroom Stew along with some Elven Dew. I have a good time and make some friends. I go to bed late and once I wake up I mark the town on one of my maps. I stay a few more days and walk in the surrounding forest with some newfound friends. I teach some of the guards of the plants in the forest and leave North and bid adieu.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I get some sleep in the day to prepare for the night. I quietly get up in the night and meet the party. We split up and I quietly lurk around the outside wall. I wait behind a bush with my bow readied. I see a suspicious sneaking shape and I draw my sword, replacing my bow. I run up and knock him down. I ask, “What is you business here thief?” If he doesn’t answer I hit him in the head with my fist. He grabs his knife and attempts to slash my groin. I jump and quickly put my sword back in its sheath. I take my bow out and notch an arrow. I point it towards his face a repeat, “What is your business here?” I come closer and drops his knife and confesses. I blow into my horn, a signal to the party members. I wait as they come and once they are I tell them my story. I ask, “May I have my reward?” They give me my Minas. I walk back happily and then, suddenly, the second and third bandits drop down near me and hold me to the ground. They hold a knife to my throat and I feel blood on my neck. I sense my time has come. Then, before they can say anything, an arrow hits one of their arms, and the one looming over me grabs his arm in pain. I jump up and bash the other’s head with the hilt of my sword. He is dazed and I sound the horn once more. The owner of the arrow came and I recognized him. He was the guard who first greeted me when I came. I give him part of my winnings from all 3 of the bandits and I thank him. I tell him that I am very grateful and I would tell the town leader of his heroics.
