BladeSwinga 0 Share Posted March 26, 2012 Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name:jesperk How old are you?:16 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Canada, UTC-5:00 Eastern Time. Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, albeit a slow-ish typer. It's my main language. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm an academically minded teen living in a small town in southern Ontario. I consider myself a gamer, and more recently have been going online more and more. I'm not very good at making writing 'flowery', or fleshing it out more than I need to, so bear with me please. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 3-6, reasonably. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Becoming your character, and acting like it. Speaking, behaving, interacting, and most importantly, thinking like your character would. Living your invention, so to speak. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: None, I'm hoping I can catch on quickly. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Using outside information that the character wouldn't have access to normally that influences their behavior or decisions. Knowing exactly where a hidden stronghold is and getting to it after the player (not the character) looks at a map of Asulon is an example. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: It usually means that interaction is one sided and dominant. One player will, through emoting, impose their will and actions on another player, wether the recipient is aware of it or not. An example would be an orc player eating a halfling player, where the orc player will not admit that the halfling got away. What do you expect this server will be like?: A more or less open world experience until a faction is chosen, and then following that organization's requirements. Players from their respective races/groups will act as such. In short, a generic RPG experience with some innovative features. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: This is my first acclaimed server, I've played on one with friends, but activity there became too much like single player, and thus I became uninterested. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes. How did you hear about us?: I personally know Kjell, and he talks about the server regularly. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: Yes, 3459. In-Character: Character Name: Frenlis Ga'At What Race are you?: Orc What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Goblin Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Frenlis is a smaller orc, technically a goblin, saved by his technical skills and his ability to interact with the other races reasonably well, with only minor violence. He prefers not having to fight, but will fight if necessary. He would much rather maintain armor than have to swing a blade around. He's developed a more refined vocabulary than most orcs, along with a few of his own words. Frenlis is a shady character, valuing money above everything. As such, his transactions are always honest, lest his shovel be brought to bear. His weapon choice of a shovel comes from him enjoying himself as a cub digging around, finding lost shineez. That, and whacking it off of just about anything except orcs larger than himself. He was thrown out into the desert at age 8, like all weak orcs, but instead of perishing, he found a way to a human settlement. Seeing his interest in valuables, the humans thought it would be fun to take him in for a bit, teach him the ropes. As he got older, Frenlis left the humans to trade on his own. Now, 40 years old, he is contemplating a return to the orc lands, perhaps to act as a diplomat, or simply use his trading expertise to better his kin. Frenlis is a shrewd git, more than willing to klomp you flat for trying to cheat him. He doesn't like being near authority, as he believes everyone is after his possessions. Being eccentric, especially for an orc, he cares somewhat about his appearance, wearing slightly tattered suits and which lead to a monocle fetish. His manners are still proper orky, though, yelling "OI!" and calling anyone not to his liking a 'git.' He has learned to drop the orc manner of pissing on everything, as it gets him in trouble. But when truly aggravated, Frenlis would unleash enough piss to make an orc proud. He's lived as a hermit/nomad, building shelters in the wilderness or holing up in taverns when able, bartering his way out of situations he couldn't bash out of. When he does make friends (or regular customers), however, his loyalty is great. He recently fell on hard times, and lost almost everything he owned. However, he intends to financially rise again, trading with the cities whose inhabitants would not try to kill him. Frenlis would stand out in a group of orcs, even goblins. That is, if you could pick him out from their larger forms. He wears a tattered maroon coat, a white undershirt, and brown trousers, all of which have seen better days. He also wears a gold monocle, hair ring, earings, and bracelets, all in his quest for riches. He stands roughly 5 feet tall, and wears his slick black hair in a short ponytail. What is your Character's ambitions?: To amass shineez and derive personal wealth, with minimal mishap. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): The shovel, for it's use in digging up buried bounty, but primarily for the entertaining sound it makes upon hitting something/someone. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? He would say his prowess as a merchant, hollering at prospective customers, muttering rude things if turned down. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): P.S. I wasn't too sure what the proper format is supposed to be. If this application is denied, could someone help me with this? Other Information about your Character: He takes great offense at being called a goblin directly, because he believes that he is, undoubtedly, an orc. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? He watches, and asks "Oi, lats wanna buy sumthin?", running away if the warriors get aggressive. Not the brave or strong type. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Either with something like, "Lat got sumthin' fer da gobly trada?" or, more likely, "Ug, da guud sella getta nicee clothes, da posh a'cent, buh no SHINEEZ??? Skah, Gug'ye, glob!" It depends on his mood and company. He's fickle around those with more wealth than him. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Provided it wasn't locked, he loots the items within, taking the chest, too. Should their owner came along, he will argue with them, but whe faced with violence, return the items without further hassle. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? He exclaims, "Yub!! Lat got aneh buub meat? Agh do any o' ya's wanna do business?" You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: He will either ignore it, avoiding the bandit camp, or he'll stick around just enough to get the reward, then split.
