Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: My Minecraft account name is WildWild.

How old are you?: I am 17 years old and will be 18 in june.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in the United States, on the west coast which is -8:00 GMT.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I think I do have a good grasp on the english language. For one I live in the US so, naturally, I speak english. And two, I have taken english classes for seven years of my life.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a senior in high school, 12th grade for international people. I like to ski, bike, take pictures of wildlife, many other outdoorsy activities, and of course I play loads of Minecraft. I really enjoy role playing games such as Skyrim and I have read some dungeons and dragons lore although I haven't had the chance to play it yet, hopefully I will sometime. I'm planning to go to college next year and study civil engineering.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: It really depends on my school work, though I'm sad to say my schoolwork sometimes takes a backseat when I'm really into mine craft. But I could probably spend 2 + hours every day, so about 14 hours minimum. If I really get into the server it could go up to 30 hours or higher.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I define roleplaying as starting out with the bare minimum but having a purpose in the form of a character you have invented. You follow the character's ideals and morales when looking at different situations and act accordingly. Personally I like to be a character that will always strive for greatness like a greedy dwarf that takes anything of value.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have played a few RPGs over the years but for the most part I have just played Skyrim. As well as WoW, Guildwars and Runescape but those are much more level based. As I said above I have also read Dungeon and Dragons lore but never had the chance to play it.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is using information you have gathered when you are out of character. This could be you reading the forums and learning specific information about a player or place to help you in game.

IIn your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is interacting with a player when you are the only one making the decisions in the encounter. You not only give yourself an unfair advantage but also make the game unpleasant for everyone involved.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect that the server will be like playing dungeons and dragons, at least what I think dungeons and dragons would be like, but on a much higher level because of the number of players involved. If everyone stays in character it will be an amazing experience!

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on many creative and survival servers and enjoyed most of them. The reason I left was that the community on the servers I played on were weak and I didn't like the weak community. I hope this will be a new experience.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I certaintly have!

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I do.

How did you hear about us?: From watching one of Potato Orgy's videos a few months ago and remembering it this week.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: I have, vote number 3,876.

In-Character:

Character Name: Glorthur Stone

What Race are you?: I be a Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): My sub-race is Mountain Dwarf.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): My name is Glorthur Stone, bastard child to one of the mountain dwarf lords. I've never been real in touch with my family and never even met my father. I grew up wandering the halls Kal'Urguan, wondering how long it took to cut those enormous pillars from pure stone. I took up apprenticeship, at thirty years of age, with one of the many stone builders in Kal'Ugruan and learned the way of the stone. After fourteen years of peaceful work, I was called upon, along with all the other able bodied dwarves, to protect our home and began training in the way of the battle axe. Not much different then swinging the pickaxe I was a natural at cleaving heads and cutting anything in my way down. After those great battles ended I went back to my peaceful life as a stone builder but still dream of the glory of battle. I stick to my home in Kal'Urguan and help out my fellow mountain dwarves whenever possible. I'm told my axe is always a welcome sight to see in a battle, unless you are the person I'm swinging it at.

I'm of average height for a dwarf, and take pride in my work. I will always work to keep our great city from crumbling down to the stone which it came from, no matter the cost. At 137 years old I'm not a young dwarf but neither am I an old dwarf by our standards. My beard is known as the eighth wonder of the world and usually when working I am complimented on it before my work is even acknowledged. I consider myself to be a well educated dwarf and always like a good read whenever I have the time. Although I also consider myself to be a peaceful dwarf, I cannot resist the call of war when my enemies blood is splashing over me.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Protecting and building his home city is his greatest ambition in life.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): His favorite tool is the pickaxe although he will quickly swap it for a battle axe if the situation presents itself.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Glorthur has the mind of a builder and can see the land, not just as the landscape, but how it could be moulded and hollowed out with a pickaxe. He also can hold his own in a fight with his battle axe.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Glorthur calmly walks up to the warriors, battle axe at the ready, and asks, "What are you fella's up to?". One respond by yelling, "Its none of your business!" Glorthur says, "What has this man done to you?" They reply with,"I said this was none of your business!" Glorthur then smacks the a sword from one of the man's hands but is too slow to do the same to the other man. Glorthur feels a sharp pain in his side, he looks down and gasps, "You stabbed me..." as he falls to the ground, soon after he blacks out. The man who stabbed Glorthur says, "Lets go, we don't want to be caught with blood on our hands," and they both run off down the road forgetting about the hafling. The hafling, in thanks for Glorthur helping him, takes him back to his village and tends to his wounds.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Glorthur replies, "The only thing I need is provided in my great city of Kal'Urguan, unless you have a battle axe or pickaxe to rival these," he places them both on the table. The merchant looks displeased when he sees the marvelous workmanship of the axe and pickaxe and says, "I'm afraid not, well would you care for some Ale?" Glorthur thanks the man and pays him before going onwards.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Glorthur looks at the items in the chest suspiciously, he mutters to himself, "Hmm… this place does look abandoned… I wouldn't be caught dead with my house in this shape… Well I'll leave a sign and on my way back if anyone hasn't responded I'll claim them for myself," he then continues on his way.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Glorthur says, "Hello," rather sharply and asks, "Do you have food and drink? I haven't had either for the past three days," the helpful trading camp gives Glorthur drinks and some food. Afterwards Glorthur says, "Thank you for your hospitality! Here, is this enough?" He hands the man who had given him the food and drink two gold bars, the man says, "Well that was a mighty big meal we gave you..." Glorthur looks displeased but hands the man one more gold bar. He thanks them again and then walks back to Kal'Urguan.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Glorthur asks, "What reward would I receive for helping you eliminate this threat? And what have they done to earn this fate?" The man replies, "The reward is five gold bars and they are thieves and outlaws," Glorthur says, "I will help you apprehend these bandits, only if they are put on trials." The leader pauses to think for a second and says, "Fine, but the reward will only be four gold bars and if they provide resistance we will fight back," Glorthur reluctantly agrees and follow the town guard to the bandit's camp.
