Yes I do have a good grasp on the English language. English is my primary language. However I will admit that have some trouble with my grammar, but I don't believe that this will be too big of an issue when role-playing.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

Well whenever I am not in College or studying for finals, you would find me at home either; playing video games, with my family, hanging with my friends (whenever they are not at college that is)or taking my dog Rufus on walks across the neighborhood. Overall I consider myself a normal college student.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I know that is this will depend the college workload/social obligations but I would expect anywhere from 14 hours at the least to 35 hours at the most.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

I would almost compare role-playing to acting in a play. You are part story and in that story one must play role of a character. One should act out the experiences in role-playing as how their character would experience. Role-playing can encompass a great variety of roles range from noble leader uniting a fractured people fight off the local big bad to the simple lumberjack cutting down trees so that he can sell the lumber to the nearby lumber mill to buy enough food for his family in the upcoming winter. Whenever I am in a Medieval fantasy setting, I prefer to go with magic-oriented characters but I am aware of the magic system still in the works so this will present an interesting situation for my role-playing experience.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I would say that I have some role-playing experience. Me and my friends would periodically have some role-playing sessions that ranges from commanding armies during Shogunate Japan to magical special forces team in World War 3. These were great but we mostly relied on our memory in these sessions and things always break down when someone insist on crazy suggestions. I have DM (mostly because I was the only one willing to read the rulebooks) a couple of Dungeons and Dragons games which were fun but often short-lived as my friends didn't get into it that much.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Metagaming is the act of using out-of-character information and using said information in-character to usually prevent an undesirable consequence. Out-of-character information consist of any knowledge that is learned outside of the role-playing character's knowledge. Such knowledge can be learned previous experience (ex. knowing a dungeon layout because of going though it a previous character even though your new character is not familiar this said dungeon but act on this information regardless), real life conversations between characters, or the use of electronic communication (ex E-mail, skype, forums, ect). One act of metagaming is using the OOC chat to communicate with another player about a quest even though their characters may be physically at the other ends of Asulon.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-Gaming is the act preventing other players from taking any action while role-playing. Power-Gaming is heavily one-sided situation in which the power-gamer tries to make another player(s) to participate in an act without giving them having a option to make their own reaction to the situation. For example is that player A could demand a duel against player B. Before that other player has a chance to declare whether s/he accepts the duel or not, player A begins the duel and kills player B before s/he could make an appropriate response.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect this server to bring a good role-playing experience and will give me the opportunity to interact with a large group of fellow role-players. I also hope to be immersed in the rather extensive lore that Asulon has to offer.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played on a another minecraft sever called "gensokyo.dyndns.biz". The sever is not a dedicated role-playing sever and the purpose of the sever was rebuild gensokyo (the setting of the touhou series). However many of the players (including myself) took up to having touhou character skins and everyone to an extend role-played as our respective characters. I left the sever because it switched over to creative mode and everyone worked on projects on their own rather than working together so I sort of felt useless.

I have read the rules and I know what is expected of me when playing on this sever.

How did you hear about us?:

I originally heard about LOFC while browsing minecraft videos on youtube. In particular I first watched "PetriDaGamerNerd" playthough of LOFC back when the setting was still Aegis. As I got curious, I also watched Candle's playthough in lord of the craft as well who I know became an Ascended Sage of Architecture. I am aware that both Petri and Candle have moved on from the server and this is now Asulon, not Aegis. Their experiences however, were what inspired me to learn more about LOFC lore and apply for this application. Oh and on a somewhat related note, I really like the server walkthrough that the Lord of the Craft staff put up on youtube. As of now there is only one walkthrough and several trailers which discuss Asulon but these help new players (such as myself) know what to expect when in the world of Asulon.

A sub-race? Me? I am not a sub-human it that is what you are getting at. No I human, nothing in particular... well at least not that I know of. I mean I pretty sure that I am the awesome but I don't think that qualifies as a sub-race.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

What? A biography? Can we just skip this part, the sooner I can leave Greenshore behind me the better. Part of the application you say? Ughh fine. Well I born in this little island village of Greenshore which just off the coast of Asulon. Now I doubt that you ever heard of Greenshore so let me sum it up in a few words, it the most boring village to grow up and it always reeks of fish. Oh guess what you have to eat on a daily basis, yeah that right fish. It is always fish whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I am sick of eating fish. At least my father was not fisherman unlike... well everyone else in the village. My dad Rowan is the only merchant in Greenshore, so we have better standard of living than everyone in the village. Apparently my dad pays the locals for their fish and then sells the fish to some big cities in Asulon in exchange for minas and some goods which he sell back here in Greenshore. My dad says that the fish around Greenshore are much tastier than the fish caught elsewhere though why anyone would eat fish in the first place boggles the mind. Anyway my dad is rarely home as he is always off conducting his trading so it is my sister Beatrix who takes care of me.

Mt sister Beatrix run the store when my dad is away which is almost all the time. She spends most of her time operating the store, cooking meals (mostly fish, yuck!), and teaching me and my sister Eleanor important life skills. To be honest Beatrix is more of a mother than she is a sister. Heck she could look like my mother seeing she appears to be 40 years old even though she is only 23! I think all of the inventory checking has taken a toll on her body. While Beatrix is home all time, unlike my dad, we really don't have any interaction with each other unless I am doing something that I'm not suppose to... which now that I think about usually involves fire. This is mostly because she is too busy running the shop so I guess she cant really afford to pay much attention to me. I guess the one thing I appreciate about Beatrix is that she was the one who taught me how to read. I remember asking her when I was nine years old if she could teach me how to read an adventure book that dad gave to me as a gift.

I guess this really surprised Beatrix when I first brought it up but I remember how her eyes began to shimmer in delight for the first time since... well ever. Learning all of the strange symbols was difficult for the first several months but I began to start understanding the words on the pages because I am just that amazing! Beatrix said she was so impressed of my progress that that she would even teach me how to right those words! Writing was even harder as I found out. Beatrix would order me to rewrite words over and over and over and over and over and over again because she said my words where "nothing more than scribbles"! Not my fault she can't read my handwriting. After several years of Beatrix's lessons in reading and writing, she finally said that I was a literate person which she was proud to say. I was proud to become literate because I can brag about to everyone else in the village because most of them can't even read! Beatrix says that teaching me how to read and write was "the best decision of her life". When I asked about this she says that ever since I first began to read, I much quieter and I was more focused on reading books instead of setting things on fire or getting in trouble with the neighbors. I guess this is true, books are the only things that tell me about the really cool things that go on in the world outside of boring old Greenshore. I enjoying those really old tales about Aegis before Iblees destroyed it (that jerk!)like the tale of the four brothers or the battles against the Undead.

Oh I guess I better mention my other sister Eleanor as well. Well she is 19 years old now and... ummm... she eats food... and that about it. OH WAIT! Eleanor has this boyfriend named Peter and she stop telling us how she can't wait to married to him. I don't like him because he smells like fish all the time. For some odd reason they enjoy jumping on the beds at night whenever Peter is spending the night, which I find really odd. At least I'm certain that is jumping on the bed as it is the only thing I can't think of that causes all of the squeaking. I remember asking Eleanor about it once but just said "don't worry about it, you will understand when you are in love". Well love must be very silly if it involves jumping on beds. And I don't do silly thing! I do stuff like read books or start fires so that people can pay attention to me! Yeah those are cool things to do!

What about my mother? Oh yeah my mom! Well I never really knew my mom, she left sometime after I was born. I'm still not sure if I scared her off or if she just got really bored of Greenshore and left, which I don't blame her leaving. From what I know my mom's name is Maribel and I have been told she looked a lot like me. People in Greenshore always tells me how I have same stringy black hair as my mom and same pale skin dotted with various freckles. My sister Beatrix insist that even my freckles are in the same place as my mom's freckles and she is always quick to remind that I share my mom's sea blue green eyes. I'm not sure why Beatrix calls them sea blue green, it sort of sounds like she is not sure whether to say they are blue or green or whatever color the sea fells like being today. Why can't people just say "blue" or "green"? It is almost always "sea-blue-green". Or why not turquoise, that seems to fit my eye color and it isn't as silly to say as "sea-blue-green". Anyway dad never talk about mom though, he just get all mopish and mutterers something not "good enough" for her which I guess is true because mom is not here. Beatrix and Eleanor get all mopish as well but at least Beatrix tell me something about mom. The first thing Beatrix tells me (as always) is I look like my mother and that I have the same hair, the same eyes, the same teeth, the same freckles, the same nose, the same eyebrows... wait actually I take that back about my nose. My nose looks like dad's which I have been told is best described as "convex", at least I think that is the word. Anyway Beatrix was the one who told me that mom left Greenshore suddenly and presumably to Asulon sometime after I was born. No one never heard from mom since so I guess I did scare her off as a baby. Do I wish to meet my mother? Why does everyone ask that? I have heard that question at least a hundred times by now! Ugh... to answer your question, no I do not. She has never been part about my life so why should I care now about some lady that I never met. Ok well I met her as a baby but that doesn't count! Anyway can we move on now, this application stuff is getting rather dull.

Do I have include anything about my apparel? Well I'll just mention it anyway. Ok so I got this really neat wool coat that my dad got me two years ago. It really cool because it this deep blue color and has this speckle pattern that sort of looks like a starry night sky on the back. Under that is a lovely purple outfit that my dad said was a hand-me-down from some wealthy merchant's daughter. Dad originally got it for Eleanor but she was big so I go it instead. Normally I dislike the idea of hand-me-downs but this outfit is an exception. The outfit also included a matching muffin cap as well which I find very comfortable on my head whenever it is The Deep Cold seed. My muffin cap has a habit of blowing off in the wind so I use my mom's old circlet to hold it down. The circlet itself a simple silver circle with fist-size piece of lapis lazuli in the center. I'm not sure why mom left this behind but it is her loss. I know dad says I shouldn't wear mom's stuff but he is never home so I were it anyway. Besides, lapis lazuli is really fun word to say! How old I'm I? Can't you tell? I'm 17 years old and I can look after myself! Well now that that is out of the way, I'm I finished with the application now right? What there is more? Ugghh... theses things take way to do.

OOC: First of I would like to thank you taking the time to read that rather lengthy biography. I was having so much fun acting out how my character would act if she was applying. Anyway I will describe Arabella personality out-of-character or otherwise you will hear how Arabella perceives her own personally which would be greatly exaggerated and misleading. While Araballa is certainly intelligent, but often acts on poor judgment. She often acts on often impulse rather than careful thinking. Arabella is boastful and tends to exaggerate her talents, even if said talents are virtually non-existent. However she is never one to flat-out lie about something but will most likely add more details to make it appear more appealing. Aside from her relationship with Beatrix, Arabella has a very limited interaction with other people. She is often ignorant of how other people perceive her and can be easily manipulated by others. Arabella is a rather curious individual and will often get into dangerous situations that most people would hesitate to do for the sake of curiosity. One quality (as stated several times)of Arabella is that she enjoys reading books and will often go out of her way to read any book that she has never read before, especially adventure stories or ancient lore though she will read just about anything. Dispite her love of the past, Arabella is rather oblivious to present events in her life unless they they are right in front of her face (often literally). Also I'm sure you can notice how impatient Arabella can be and unsurprisingly dislikes waiting for long periods of times. Oh and lastly, Arabella enjoys being noticed by others just for the sake of attention. She is mostly harmless to the good people of Asulon though she may burn something that she is not supposes to.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

To get as far away from Greenshore as physically possible for a start. After that I want to explore Asulon! I have read about the many places in Asulon and I always wanted to see them with my own eyes! Oh I guess I should mention that I really really really want to learn how to use magic! I have read about all sorts of people like the druids, mages, and shamans using magic and I really want to learn it myself. In particular I learn how to cast fireballs! I mean I one time set a house on fire with only my fingertips but as hard as I tried I could never do again and no one believe that I burned that house with magic because I normally start fires with flint and steel. Anyway I hope that I can meet someone who can teach me about this magic stuff.

OOC: As of now I understand that most magic is RP and according to several forums, abused. It is my intention that Arabella has the ability performing magic but will not be capable of casting any magic until she is tutored by organizations dedicated to magic such as the Mage's guild. Any attempt to perform magic on Arabella's part before tutoring will result in her failing (ex. trying to cast a fireball on a war party of angry orcs but nothing happens). I also read about a magic plug-in that will be coming in the near future which will allow players to perform magic in-game rather than having to solely role-play magic. If worst comes to worst for Arabella, she will be unable to find a tutor and will have to begrudgingly accept that she will never be able to perform magic which will be interesting to role-play nevertheless. Anyway I just wanted to clarify my intentions on Arabella's interaction with magic as it appear to be a touchy subject in LOTC due to its potential for abuse even though it can provide for some great role-playing experiences.

Does flint and steel count as a tool? I mean if it does I'm really good at lighting things on fire with it!

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

My skills? Ha! I have many skills! I can read and write! I can also light things on fire with some flint and steel... what? I get bored. Well one time I lit Miss Agatha's house on fire with magic but still have no idea how I did that but that counts as a skill right? I can also... umm... I think that is it. So are you impressed with my many skills?

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

"Worry not defenseless citizen! For I, Arabe... oh wait... IS THAT A HALFING?!? WOW IT REALLY IS A HALFING! You know you are the first halfing that I ever meet! I read about halflings in books but it is really cool to finally see one up close. Anyway it was really great meeting you mister halfing person, you have a good day today!" She quickly walks off, in her excitement forgetting that she was suppose to stop the harassment.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

"Oh hello strange person! Do have any books that discusses the history or government of Alras?" The man seems disappointed by the response and flatly says no. Annoyed at the merchants unhelpfulness "Well I guess you can't do something for me after all." And quickly scoff him off and proceeds to find the local library.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

"Umm... does anybody live here" she naively cries out. Waits for several seconds for a response before venturing inside that hut to see if the occupants are just simply asleep. Upon finding no one, she quickly declares "Well I claim this hut in the name of Arabella Stargazer!" then promptly placing a sign outside the hut claiming ownership.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"Citizens! The great and amazing Arabella Stargazer request nourishment or I may starve." she proclaims loudly than meekly adding "So umm... do you have anything to eat?" The traders are at first unsure to they should give her some food but judge her as harmless and give Arabella two pieces of bread. "Ah ha!" "Your generosity shall be rewarded greatly in the future!" And quickly bolts off back to the wilderness, leaving the traders behind.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Upon hearing the news, Arabella quickly joins the town guards. She does this far more for a chance at being in a real battle than for being rewarded for the deed. She declares "I, Arabella Stargazer, shall offer assistance to the elimination of those rather pesky bandits! Oh are allowed to exterminate the bandits with fire?"
