Eye color: Blue

Alamander, Gregor was born as the son of a carpenter. He grew up learning the skills of the trade from his father Jonathan. As many other boys his mother died before he was born and he never knew but hard love. Unsurprisingly, he always felt that becoming a carpenter like his father was not for him. He spent most of his days outside playing with other boys of his age with wooden swords that his father had made for them. Yet on occasion his father required him to study. You see his father, even if only a carpenter thought that every proper boy should know his letters. He spent his days reading about ceiling joist, scissor trusses and how to construct a proper weight bearing wall. So dreary, yet that was the life he knew. Then one day he found an old book. Stuffed behind the fireplace. It was weird as he had never seen it before. Surely his father would not waste a book like this? It seemed old and moldy, some pages even crumbling at touch. Carefully he brought it out and peeked inside. The first words that met his eyes were:

Viola Alamander.

That book would forever change his life. It was a book about the adventures of his mother and father before they got married. Stories about foreign lands and all kinds of obstacles they had met during their journeys. Since that day Gregor dreamt of the day he would become a famous writer or poet.

Years past and he grew more than most boys. Many would call him fat. He himself would call himself the product of all those cookies and buttery sweetness that crossed his path. From child he had an unhealthy obsession with food. Oh all those cakes, cookies and pork chops. Who could resist them? Well not our dear Gregor. Before reaching of age he was heavier, yet shorter, than most men.

Just after his 16th birthday in secret from his father he applied to become an apprentice to the local bard. For the test he had to write a poem about the paleness of the skies. His mind quick and witty from all those years of reading, yet never had he written a word of his own. He failed miserably the local bard citing his embarrassing poem for the whole village during the yearly feast of spring. When his father learned about this it was all over. That was the day his father sent him to the local garrison to be trained to become a soldier.

While in the militia he did surprisingly well for a chubby short kid he was. Loosing most of his weight. yet not his passion for words. He never of course made anything more than soldier. Most of his fellow soldiers saw him as a weird chubby youngling who would die early. As expected at his first raid against the undead he wounded his leg while he was trying to take a nap in middle of battle. He was sent to the infirmary where he recuperated for several months. A few months longer than most would think it would take to heal a wounded leg. For you see, the one thing he had time for during his bedtime was to write and eat, and thus he did so. When he was finally released from the infirmary he had gained at several stones of weight. When his sergeant laid his first eyes upon Gregor, he was dishonorably discharged from his duties. That was the end of his career in the local militia.

Thus his journey began.

To witness and write a book about a grand adventure in a distant land.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

He is familiar with the sword if only his stamina would let him wield it properly. Yet most of the time he is seen holding a book.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Eating several cakes without a single burp and persuade other people to do work for him.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Sweat pours down Gregor’s forehead as he walks down the path from the temple. Seeing the halfling being harassed he quirks his eyebrow. “What is the meaning of this!” he says loudly. The armed warriors turn towards Gregor with a hostile gaze. While walking towards the group Gregor improvises and states loudly “This little thief took my purse! I’m lucky that you young gentlemen have captured him!”. The armed men look at each other in puzzlement, what is this fat man talking about? Reaching inside his tunic Gregor pulls out a few gold coins. I’m obliged to reward you for your heroic attempt to catch this filthy little thief. Skeptically the armed men seem to believe the rouse until the halfling blunders out “I’m no thief?”. Pausing in mid-step Gregor swiftly pockets the gold and tries to flee as. The world goes dark as he hears a thump and a splitting pain in the back of his head.

Later that day he finds himself in the ditch covered in mud. All his belongings gone, but a newly aquired head-ache.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Turning around towards the merchant, Gregor answers “Hello, sir.”. Noticing that the fellow is a merchant his eyes gleam and he quickly asks “Sir, you wouldn’t possibly have any cookies for sale? or maybe a book?” his eagerness clearly heard in his voice. The merchant answers “I’m no baker so I do not have any cookies, but might I interest you in a book about carpenting?”. After a long awkward pause Gregor seems disappointed. “Sorry, I think I left my wallet back in the bakery over there. I better be going” Gregor mumbles while trying to slink out of the stall.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Wondering to himself what in all world he is doing out in the wilds he looks into the chest of the hut. His eye twitches as he sees the sword, it reminding him of his past in the militia. Finding nothing of interest he decides to try out the bed to rest a bit. I mean after a whole day of walk a man deserves a rest. Falling a sleep almost instantly he awakes the next day. He again searches the cupboards and chests for anything to eat. Sighing to himself he decide to try the wilds again, hoping someone will come and rescue him before a lion eats him or the like.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

“Finally civilization, Great Gods of Old!” Gregor shouts out as he stumbles in to the camp looking like a starved bear. Obviously delirious from not eating in several hours he rambles “I somehow got lost in the wilderness where I found this hut. I thought to rest there but then I lost all track of time. I tried to eat these mushrooms but they tasted like old bark! *pausing* Maybe it was bark! Oh dear, dear”. After almost walking into the camps open fire he stumbles into the merchant feinting.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Hearing about the trouble Gregor slowly nudges toward the Inn nearby as the guards are looking for volunteers. One of the guards noticing him inquires “You there! We offer proper gold for every able hand. Would you not join us to protect this city?”. Gregor looking a a bit awkward looks to both sides trying to see if it is him the guard is talking too. As realizing that the guard was talking to him, he answers “I, I.. *sweat pouring down his forehead* must go and help my dear old mother. She is in dire need, wouldn’t survive a day without me she wouldn’t.” The guards looks at Gregor skeptically. Gregor suddenly gets an idea and says “But! Yes, might join you to write a great novel about your heroic efforts to protect the city!”. “What about your mother?” the guard asks. Smiling faintly Gregor backs into the Inn “Oh yes, my mother. Got to run. Toodeloo!”.

Unfortunately, I must deny this application for one reason: there's an important lore event that your biography doesn't really cover- the crossing over from Aegis to Asulon. As said crossing happened ~3 years before your character was born, the crossing would likely have a significant effect on your character's early childhood, as Asulon would still not be entirely colonized. Other than that, the application was flawless.

You may want to research "Salvus", it's a city that was established very quickly in Asulon.

As it is a single and relatively minor change, you may post an improved application two hours from when this message is posted. Good luck!
