Elven Style Homes!

You see a sigh hanging up outside the locked gates of Normandor.

Building Contest!

Hello, visitors and citizens of Malinor, as you may know the city is at half capacity, and very little larger homes remain. Despite the plague, the city must continue on. Malinor, the oldest kingdom, has persevered through undead, wars, and now a plague. None of things have stopped us from advancing.

But let's get back on topic, the population of Malinor is sky rocketing! We are now looking for more housing sources. We have been working on ideas for what style to build, we are looking for a wood elven feel. How to pull this is off is a completely different madder, we don't know what to build.

The wind blows shaking the braches of the trees, filling the are with the smell of sap.

So get your inks and feathers, and draw up some design ideas! We are looking for anything you can think of. If your design wins I will personally give you five gold ingots, a jewel, and 500 mina!

((We are going to be building some new stuff, and we need ideas, post bellow pictures of elven builds. If we pick your building you win the prize :D))

There could be a couple things that we can make we could make a Apartment tower and there could be like 6-10 rooms in the complex and charge people 200 mina a week or 150.

*Romulus scratches his beard whilst reading the note carefully. He then begins wandering down the path, pulling a piece of paper out of his jacket and scribbling some designs on it.

After a while of scrawling, Romulus looks over the paper and the designs he has drawn, satisfied with his first attempt at Elven architecture. He then attaches the scrawl and writes a little message beneath.*

The name's Romulus Dreadshade, Master Architect o' Roseus Aquila. These are some designs I made in a few minutes. 'Ope they aren't too awful, i's me first time trying Elven buildings, bu' I think it's no' too shabby meself. Send me a bird should yer like tha design.

*Nodding to himself, Romulus then carries on his way, leaving the drawings and the note attached to the gate of Normandor*

*Romulus attaches another few sketches and writes another brief note underneath*

This is a smalle' design, I though' it'd be a little better than tha other one, and would be a lil' bit more cheaper. 'Ave a look and see wha' ye think.

*A pile of sketches lay on a table before you, attached is a elegantly written note. It reads*

"As a Wood Elf myself I have just began growing and planning my own homestead.. would this be what you are looking for?"

I built two elven homes. The first is a smaller three story home in a Circular shape. Everything you see was designed by me, I used pictures of elven buildings for inspiration.

Here is a picture of it.

Here is the second home. It is bigger and uses more of the "higher quality materials"

-snip-

I really like these. I'd happily live in a home like this, it also looks very adaptable in which I mean you could easily create a variety of similar builds in this style. Only negatives I can pick out is that a "few" things do not sit right with me. The two curls on the left and right of the roof in the top image look slighting "off" and the stone slabs stick out a little too much. I think the stone slabs are just a texture clash.

I'll post update on my tree home soon. Only bad thing with mine right now is that it just looks like a tree.. it definitely needs some furbishing or structural elements which I plan to add soon.

What is funny is I already changed the curls. :) I am looking for a new elven texture pack still.

Fix that abomination of misplaced bbcode now! You forgot the end code.

Anyway, yea glad to hear it. The overhanging ones that curl under themselves looked very unique so I would not want to play with those too much. I think the texture pack you are using there is quite alright tbh. If you can, simply switch around the slabs and you will be good. If you do find a better elven suited texture pack please let me know though. Doku | High is the only one that comes to mind for me.
