Lago 2572 Share Posted May 13, 2012 When RPing with wardog4445 I noticed his Kharajyr has a far more feline accent, similar to the way the orcs speak differently due to the tusks in their mouths. During my time as a Kharajyr slave, I noticed that many of the Kharajyr instead speak perfect English. Seeing as my first encounter was with Wardog, this always struck me as odd. Do the Kharajyr players think the Kharajyr would be improved by using this adapted speech that Wardog uses? (If you read this, Wardog, it would be greatly appreciated if you posted the exact changes that you make to your words. It's a little odd me suggesting the Kharajyr change their speech and then not saying how.) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Wretched 2075 Share Posted May 13, 2012 ((Only wardog4445 speaks like that. MOST Kharajyr speak in 3rd person and don't use big words. It's a great idea, but the problem is people will not be able to RP that, they will fail. Some people find it hard to RP plain english, it took a lot to get most the race speaking 3rd person and still there are those that don't. wardog4445 when you read this I encourage you to make a post explaining Kharajyr speech, perhaps with a poll on ways to speak (like yours) or anything else. I think the best simile I can make is comparing him to someone who speaks english as their second language. For example: "Oh yeah of course, I wasn't going to go down there today because of the flooding. Perhaps another time I'll travel to the swamps" This isn't how Dato speaks. "Mhm, yes..I was not going there today, the water has gotten too high. I will journey to the marsh some time later" is sort of what I'm going for when RPing. It's very subtle and occasionally I'll take tips from Wardog and say something like "That'sa not good for you". big narstie 1701 Share Posted May 13, 2012 Skar doesn't use all the added punctuation Bukak' uses, however it is common for him to 'miss out' words, in sentences, say them oddly, add a few a's to the end of words or rearrange words in sentences, so far it has worked out. I like Bukak's speech as it goes for a un-sophisticated jungle tribe, which, in essence is what we are. Dato uses 'I' sure, but thats his desicion, it'd prefer if he spoke in 3rd person, but he may find it difficult to RP that way.
