Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: AGiantPie

How old are you?: 15

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States, East Coast, GMT - 5

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, English is my first language and I know how to type/speak it well.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a 15 year old American male. I enjoy playing Minecraft, roleplaying games, and some sports such as Ultimate Frisbee and Football. My favorite subject in school is science.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: It varies, usually about 1-3 hours a day. On weekends it could be as much as 4 hours, so a minimum of 7 hours, and a maximum of about 23 hours a week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I know a lot about roleplaying. I play some roleplaying games and have experience roleplaying on Minecraft before. Roleplaying to me means creating a world of your own imagination, and working with others to make it come to life.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have had roleplaying experience on a few other Minecraft rp servers, namely Age of Mines and Kingdom of Aeonis. I also have played DnD and enjoy this genre in general.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is using ooc information to influence your character's decision. Ie: if someone accidentally says something in a global chat that was supposed to be local, I know it oocly but my character doesn't. Or, if a friend messages me the coordinates of his secret base, my character still doesn’t know how to get there.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Powergaming is roleplaying something your character couldn't do, such as a farmer making a mineshaft to bedrock. It is also forcing a hit onto a character, saying “John slashes Bob in the arm, severing it.” Instead of, “John swings his sword at Bob’s arm, hoping to cause serious damage.”

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be a fun, engaging experience with a fantastic community and world. I hope to make friends and have a great time with everyone.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on many Minecraft servers, the only ones worth to note are Pitforge and Kingdom of Aeonis. I left Pitforge because the admins took it down a bad direction. I left Aeonis because of a complicated fiasco of ooc and icness. It was really crazy and I still am unsure as to what exactly happened.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have read, understood, and agree to the rules.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I agree to abide by all rules.

How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: Well... this server is rather famous. I've heard it mentioned all over the place. I am looking for a new roleplay server so I thought I would investigate into it.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes, I have made some an app before.

In-Character:

Character Name: Eldeween Tinkhelii

What Race are you?: Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): N/A

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Eldeween's father, Gildarad, was a member of a secretive organization dedicated to protecting the innocent, and keeping the world as "good" as possible. Its name is only known to those in the highest of the order. Lower ranked members refer to it as, “The Order”. His father died when he was 3, and his mother took him and raised him in a small town by the name of TallWood, due to the strange tall trees that grew in a forest nearby. He was apprenticed to the local blacksmith, and spent years learning the trade. The blacksmith recognized Eldeween’s potential, and slowly integrated advanced techniques into his training. Eldeween never completely finished his training because a plague swept through TallWood, killing many people including his master. It swept over the town in a large wave, killing everyone who contracted it.

Within a matter of days the plague was only a block or two from Eldeween’s house. There was no way to get past it to the gates, so Eldeween climbed and jumped off the wall. He sprained his ankle, but he hobbled off and disappeared into the forest of tall trees near the town. He lived by a lake deep within, and his foot healed after a few days. He built a house in a tree, and built a makeshift forge outside to continue practicing his trade. He taught himself how to fish, and how to hunt and gather berries. One morning, as he was fixing himself breakfast, he heard a loud crash and splash from outside. He ran out to discover a large chunk of smoking, glittering rock laying near the side of the lake. The water was frothing about, and many trees on the opposite side of the lake were crushed and smoldering. It was clear that the rock had come in from the sky at an angle, and he was lucky it hit the water instead of the ground. He quickly grabbed a bucket and exterminated the embers to prevent a forest fire. Afterwards, he went to check out the rock, and discovered that it had veins of metal inlayed into it. He wasn't sure what it was made of, but he grabbed his pickaxe and carefully extracted it. Using his blacksmithing skill, and the forge he had built for himself to practice his only refined skill, he made himself a suit of armor and a sword out of the unknown material.

About a year later, he was fishing in the lake when a women burst into the clearing. She screamed when she first saw him, then she was knocked over from behind by a hooded figure. He hadn't seen Eldeween, and was intently focused on the girl. Eldeween carefully crept up behind the man, and kicked him off the girl. The man was surprised by Eldeween's sudden appearance, and before he could react, Eldeween jumped on him and stabbed him in the throat. He gurgled horribly and spat black blood into his face, but died within a matter of seconds. The girl thanked him and told him that he was a member of a group of bandits that had raided her village. She said that most of her village had escaped in the other direction, but to where, she did not know. When he asked her name, she responded shyly, "Toralai, I’m an elf.” He scouted out the village, but it was all burnt, and the rest of the raiding party was nowhere to be found. He invited the girl to stay with him if she wished, and she agreed as she had nowhere else to go. They lived peacefully for a while, about 15 years. With an extra person to help with gathering food and working on improving the house, Eldeween was able to find the time to train his swordfighting abilities.

However, their peaceful life was interrupted one day when a group of refugee bandits stumbled upon Toralai while she was out gathering berries. They interrogated her and mercilessly beat her to death, then used the information they had beaten out of the girl to ambush Eldeween, who was training. They emerged from the woods and surrounded him while he was training on the practice dummy he had set up, and jested at him how they killed Toralai. In a rage, he engaged them in battle, and emerged victorious despite sustaining several wounds. Knowing that he couldn't heal these wounds himself, he tried to find some other mention of civilization. He ran for hours, before succumbing to his wounds and blacking out in the middle of a field.

He woke up with a man in white robes hanging over him, applying healing salves to his cuts. When he asked where he was, he responded, "In safety, son of Gildarad." He asked him how he knew his name, and the priest replied, “The Order knows all.” He remembered the stories his mother told him of the secretive organization, but he had never really believed it existed. Eldeween remembered that their motivation was to protect the innocent and perform good deeds, so he agreed to join them when asked to by the leader. He promised himself he would protect the good and innocent, so that as few people as possible would suffer himself and Toralai’s fate. He trained for several years as an initiate in their order, and is setting out on his first mission of purity to prove his worth.

Eldeween is 236 years old, is tall and has brown hair. His hair and face are rarely seen underneath the armor he always wears. He is generally happy, optimistic, and kind to people.

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Eldeween would sneak up behind the two robbers and smack them on the back of the head with the pommel of his sword to knock them out. He would then take them to the local authorities to be put on trial, and would help the Halfling with any injuries. If the Halfling tried to give him a gift, Eldewenn would accept it nicely to be polite, and try to make friends with him.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Eldeween would say, “Greetings merchant. I would like to see what you have for sale.” Then he would look through the merchant’s on sale items, and buy anything that interested him. Then he would ask the merchant about any local crime or banditry going on, or if there was someone who needed assistance, would thank the merchant for any items he bought or information that was provided, and would proceed to investigate further the merchant’s leads.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: If Eldeween needed any of the supplies he found in there, he would take them and leave an appropriate amount of money equal to the item’s worth. Then he would write a letter explaining why the item was missing and money was in its place and leave it in the chest. Then he would leave and continue with his business.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Eldeween would ask them if they had any food or water he could buy or trade for, or is there were any inns nearby where he could do the same. He would thank them for whatever they provided, and perhaps look through their stock to see if he was interested in buying anything. Then he would spend time talking to them and making friends if he was able to procure food and/or water.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Eldeween would gather his gear and go join the party to help eliminate the bandits. Afterwards, when rewards were being given out, Eldeween would’t demand a reward, but he would accept the reward if it was given to him, and then give it to poor and hungry people unless he was low on money or supplies himself.

Your biography does not pertain to lore, but it doesn't exactly break it. It's well-written enough.
