Before you apply, you should know a few things about the race. For example, the characteristics of each subrace, their culture, and where the city is located. Now, sit back, relax, and learn. Subraces In total, there are three subraces for the dwarves. There are the cave dwelling dwarves, known as Cave Dwarves. The Mountain dwelling dwarves, known as Mountain Dwarves. Lastly, there are the nature loving dwarves, known as the Forest Dwarves.Cave Dwarves Cave Dwarves are known to have dark skin and dark beards. Their beards are usually seen with braids, keeping their long beards from interfering with work. A fashion trend for Cave Dwarves is weaving precious stones and gems into their beard and hair. Finally, their eyes, usually golden, or amber. Cave Dwarves usually take part in mining, smithing, and other work to do with ores. Their eyes should be sensitive to sunlight, them being underground for long periods of time.Mountain Dwarves Mountain Dwarves have a lighter tone of skin, but a bit more muscles on their shoulders. The majority of Mountain Dwarves have fiery red hair. If you are a Mountain Dwarf who is weak, but have fiery red hair, you will / might get shunned. Usually the red hair attracts others of their kind. Mountain Dwarves usually take part in lumberjacking, and combat.Forest Dwarves Forest Dwarves have brown, earth like skin. They keep their beards short, and not long like the other dwarves. Instead of growing their beards out, usually their hair will be long. Forest Dwarves are also more compact, or closely united, to each other, unlike the other subraces. Forest Dwarves are usually skilled in nature activities, such as lumberjacking, farming, fishing, and sometimes druidism, if they chose that path. Dwarven History Aegis King Simmpa and the High Council rule over the dwarves of Kal'Urguan. However, after a few years, Simmpa becomes ill and steps down, being replaced by King Charles. King Charles's rule is a mighty one with many dwarven expansions happening. He eventually goes mad and wages war against the humans and because of this, the dwarf settlement, Alras, seperates and starts its own nation. After disagreements between Decks Blackaxe and King Charles over the attack on the humans, the Blackaxe clan leaves Kal'Urguan, seeking refuge in their mountain home of Kal'Domhain. King Belin Irongut is crowned and rules fairly. Outer Kal'Urguan is developed, just to be destroyed by "The Crag". King Algrim Irongut crowned and rules with a soft touch to protect his beaten brothers. This is a down time for the dwarves as many forsake their homeland to live in other lands. Only a few strong clans remain like the Ironguts and Braveaxes. Outer Kal'Urguan is rebuilt into farms and other buildings. The Blackaxe Clan returns to Kal'Urguan under the new leadership of Bazian Blackaxe, the eldest son of Decks. The undead, Wrath, attacks Kal'Urguan but suffers a defeat at the hands of the Legion and the elven Wardens. Fort Fairleaf is constructed by the Wardens, in an effort to bring down Wrath's Clutch forever. After weeks of planning, The Legion and the Wardens launch a succesful assault on Wrath's Clutch. However, this only leads to rivalries between the two groups over who was responsible for it's ultimate downfall. After biterness on both sides, the Legion is marched to Fort Fairleaf where they demand that the fort be demolished because it is on Dwarven lands. The Wardens grudgingly comply but relations between Kal'Urguan and the Wardens are damaged for years to come. The Legion begins hunting for the surviving allies of Wrath. The Legion is sent to Al'Khazar to fight off the undead as King Edmund Sheffield is corrupted. Queen Cassandra of the Undead leads an attack on the great city of Kal'Urguan but it is repulsed due to the defenders great strength. Ascended and normal dwarves protect their lands, including Hiebe Irongut and Thorik Braveaxe. The Orc - Human war begins but the Dwarves originally choose not to get involved as they are allies of neither nation. As the humans and orcs battle at Kramoroe, an elite Dwarven squad searches for King Algrim who has been captured by the undead. Algrim betrays the dwarves, becoming a minion of the undead. He is then arrested as he returns to Kal'Urguan but eventually escapes. King Gotrek is crowned but his reign is short lived due to his travels outside of Aegis. The War Council is formed in Gotrek's absence. This is made up of Lord Marshall Thorik Braveaxe, Longbeard Chaecus Braveaxe, Longbeard Valen Blackaxe, Head Guard Stronghold Braveaxe, Guard Officer Broski Braveaxe, Guard Officer Aloicius Flynn and Archbishop Thordon Irongut. Spies inform the War Council of a possible attack from the Wardens in the near future. Years later, these rumours are proven to have been true, although Malinor's leadership held the Wardens back from attacking. Dwarven military leaders including Longbeard Chaecus Braveaxe and Longbeard Valen Blackaxe collaborate with Elven spies and rebels to plan an invasion of Laurelin, in the event of a war with Malinor and the Wardens. Towards the end of the Orc - Human war, the Legion helps the Orcs in sieging Al'Khazar to put a swift end to hostilities along the King's Road. However, this proves to be a regretful decision as the Orcs are close allies of the Wardens. A secret defensive Pact is made between Lord Marshall Thorik Braveaxe, representing Kal'Urguan and King Enor, representing Oren in case of a future war. Lord Marshall Thorik Braveaxe, and Longbeards Chaecus Braveaxe and Valen Blackaxe lead a joint Dwarven/Human assault on an undead keep that is threatening Aeriel's Keep. The battle is a success and the undead are temporarily driven out. After years of planning by the War Council, King Thorik is crowned, through military overthrow of the High Council, with the backing of the Braveaxe and Blackaxe clans. A new political system is put in place. This includes the Grand Council, Lower Council, and new ranks. The Longbeards, the commanders of the Legion, Chaecus Braveaxe, Valen Blackaxe, Stronghold Braveaxe and Broski Braveaxe become the new Grand Councilors. 1326 - Upon venturing into the verge, Tazarak is established (an alliance between Alras, Humans, and Dwarves). Tensions between Tazarak and the Orcs and Wardens are high during this time. Alras eventually backs out of the alliance. High Lady Vulena Braveaxe is fired by Grand Councilor Stronghold Braveaxe and Karl Frostbeard is appointed as the new High Lord of Guilds. 1329 - The first Grand Tournament is held. Kjell Ireheart becomes the new "Grand Champion". Grand Councilor Stronghold Braveaxe steps down and Karl Frostbeard assumes his position as Grand Councilor of Guilds. 1336 - A dispute outside of Krugmar between a number of Dwarven and Orc officials leads to a fight, in which a small number on each side are killed. This event acts as the spark that ignites conflict across Aegis. 1336 - Upon witnessing the conflict outside of Krugmar, Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe escapes to Kal'Urguan after resisting an attempted arrest on him by the Orcs. Here, he places the Legion on alert and gathers information coming out of Krugmar that the Orcs are rallying an army to siege Kal'Urguan. 1336 - A Legion squad is dispatched to the city of Aeriel after rumours are spread that the Orcs intend to rally there for an attack on Dwarven territory. A small battle takes place in Aeriel, resulting in the deaths of a number of Orcs and Aeriel townsfolk and the arrest and eventual interrogation of one of the surviving Orcs. 1336 - After years of rising tensions and sporadic conflict, an army of Orcs and Elves, led by Warlord Mogroka, siege Kal'Urguan but are defeated by the Dwarves and Humans, beginning the Great War, Dwarves, Humans and the Kaxil clan against Orcs, Wardens and the Teutonic Order. 1336 - Galahar is sieged by the Orcs, Teutonic Order and Wardens but are forced to retreat after the Dwarves and Humans rally for an attack on Krugmar. 1336 - The Dwarves and Humans siege Krugmar and are shown in through a secret entrance by the Kaxil clan, a rebelling clan of Orcs. 1336 - 1339 - As the war continues to rage on, various sieges and skirmishes are made on both sides of the conflict. The remnants of the Wardens are eventually forced by Malinor's leadership to pull out of the war, although many continue to fight, leading to the eventual disbandment of the entire Warden military and the end of the Orc - Elf alliance. The Dwarf - Human alliance quickly takes its place as the dominant power in Aegis. Grand Councilor of War, Chaecus Braveaxe resigns and his High Lord, Gimrik Braveaxe, takes his position. Kjell Ireheart becomes the new High Lord of War. Former King Algrim is redeemed due to the efforts of his good friend, Kilgrim. 1337 - An alliance is formed between the nations of Kal'Urguan and Oren. As well as this, they form alliances with Aeriel and the Kaxil clan in order to gain further allies in times of war. High Lord Grumdul Balor resigns from his position as High Lord of Economics. 1338 - Increased attacks made by the undead force the Dwarves to remain in their homeland. A torn map piece is delivered to the Dwarves by a hooded figure. The completed map is eventually used to guide the races of Aegis to Asulon. The Dwarven Legion tries to defend Al'Khazar against the undead but is ultimately forced to bring the refugees back to Kal'Urguan and Alras, before the city falls. 1339 - Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe and Warlord Mogroka end the Great War with a peace treaty, allowing Kal'Urguan to join the United Aegis Coalition. 1340 - Former Grand Councilor of War, Chaecus Braveaxe is murdered by the undead High Prophet. Grand Councilor Gimrik Braveaxe goes rogue, taking control of a Legion fort besides the ruins of Wrath's Clutch. Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe learns of his betrayal and leads an attack on the fort, with the help of a number of Orc and Human volunteers. The fort is temporarily retaken but Gimrik escapes out of a back exit. Grand King Thorik Braveaxe fires Grand Councilor Gimrik Braveaxe for his betrayal and appoints his High Lord, Kjell Ireheart as the new Grand Councilor of War. 1341 - The Dwarven Legion, led by Grand Councilors Valen Blackaxe and Kjell Ireheart, arrives in Galahar to aid the Phoenix rebels against an Orc attack. Here, they battle the Orcs, driving them out of Galahar. The result of this is that Oren is split between the nations of Hanseti, under Gaius Marius and the Teutonic Order and Renatus, under Eze'kiel Tarus and the Phoenix Rebellion. 1342 - Kal'Urguan is dismissed from the United Aegis Coalition due to a conflict between Urir Ireheart and a number of Alrasian guards. This event angers many Dwarves and increases suspicion as to the Ascended's true motives. 1342 - A 100,000 minas bounty is put on the head of Grand Councilor Kjell Ireheart by High King Syrio of Alras, due to the actions of his cousin, Urir Ireheart. The Irehearts are hunted by the Alrasian Order, causing outrage across the Dwarven kingdom. The Blackaxe and Frostbeard clans eventually choose to intervene, against the orders of their King, battling the Alrasian Order outside of Alras, defending their Dwarven brothers. 1342 - With the growing pressure from the noble clans of Kal'Urguan, Grand King Thorik Braveaxe and Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe arrive outside the entrance to Alras, where Thorik announces a declaration of war upon Alras. Kal'Urguan, with the help of allied Knights of Galahar, under the command of Lord Gideon Silverblade, sieges Alras, in search of the map pieces that Alras had supposedly come into possession of. The Dwarven map piece is eventually retrieved after the battle. An alliance is made between the nations of Kal'Urguan, Renatus and Malinor. 1343 - The Dwarves begin work on a new coalition made up of Kal'Urguan, Renatus, Malinor, Hanseti and Krugmar. The coalition intervenes to prevent Renatus from sieging Hanseti. Thorik Braveaxe beats Eze'kiel Tarus in a duel to determine the fate of the nation. 1345 - A Dwarf by the name of Ingot rallies a militia for an assault on Galahar, in response to the supposed corruption of the local guard force. After gathering much support, the Grand Council is contacted to assist with this effort. After attempts by the Grand Council fail to deal with the situation without bloodshed, the Purge continues and Thorik is forced to order his Grand Councilors, Valen Blackaxe and Kjell Ireheart to rally the Legion to defend Galahar. Valen Blackaxe and Gideon Silverblade arrange a counter attack after the Purge has breached the Elven walls, accompanied by Elven support. The battle is a success and the Purge is defeated. Kal'Urguan falls to the might of the undead, forcing the Dwarves to once again, relocate to Tazarak. Urir Ireheart, Kjell Ireheart and Valen Blackaxe enter the Nether in an effort to defeat the undead. Urir Ireheart sacrafices himself to save the races of Aegis, while Kjell Ireheart and Valen Blackaxe manage to escape before the portals close. The Dwarves and the other nations of Aegis flee to the verge to escape from the chaos. Here they build ships that are used to sail onwards to Asulon. However, Grand Councilor Kjell Ireheart refuses to leave Kal'Urguan, while Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe goes missing after he is knocked overboard after a lightning bolt strikes one of the ship's engines. Valen's brother and High Lord of Diplomacy, Bazian Blackaxe takes his position as Grand Councilor of Diplomacy.Asulon As the Dwarves begin to explore Asulon, they found the kingdom of Karik, built upon the ruins of an old Dwarven nation. A second Grand Tournament is held and Darain Blackaxe becomes the new Grand Champion. Darius Irongut founds Kal'Dwain which is used as a mining colony for the Dwarves. 2 - After Hiebe Irongut fails in an attempt to overthrow Grand King Thorik, the Ironguts leave Karik, forming a new nation, The Archipelago of Holm. This event splits the Dwarven nation into two. The bandit group, led by Prince continues to threaten the citizens of Karik. 9 - Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe returns to the Dwarven nation to find it disunited and under threat from bandits, taking on his position as Grand Councilor once again. 10 - Grand King Thorik is murdered by an unknown killer. Upon Thorik's death, Valen Blackaxe resigns and departs from Karik to become the High Constable of Salvus as he fears that the Dwarf's greed has changed the nation from what it was in Aegis. 13 - Former member of the first Grand Council and son of Thorik, Broski Braveaxe is crowned Grand King of Karik. He inherits a weakened nation but one that has great potential for the future. He changes the governmental system, bringing about an end to the Grand Council system of governing. 18 - Karik joins a coalition of Hanseti, Krugmar, Salvus and Alras. Together, they successfully siege the fortress of Das Boot. The war between Hanseti and Renatus ends soon after. 18 - Kjell Ireheart arrives in Asulon on the back of an Enderdragon that originated in Aegis. The dragon did not survive the landing... He now claims "Ah 'ave killed six bludeh dragons!" 20 - The Dwarves are forced to abandon Karik after a dragon is unleashed upon it. The great doors are barricaded but many Dwarven lives are lost, including former Grand Councilor Valen Blackaxe who falls prey to the dragon as it destroys the city. The Dwarves move to the North and begin building a new city which becomes known as Khaz'A'Zhar. Gimrik Braveaxe, son of former Grand King Thorik Braveaxe, steps down from his position as King of War. Grand King Broski Braveaxe appoints Kjell Ireheart to his position. An expedition is made into Karik to retrieve the old Dwarven crown of Grand King Thorik Braveaxe. However, humans from Renatus get there first and refuse to return it back to the Dwarven Kingdom, angering many of the Dwarves. Orcs invade Khaz'A'Zhar, beginning a new war between the Dwarves and Orcs. In one battle, Khaz'A'Zhar is badly damaged after explosives are set, in order to drive out the Orc invaders. An alliance is made between Salvus and the Dwarves, in order to make a stand against warmongering nations. A dwarf by the name of Thordat Goblinpick, unsatisfied with Broski's rule, attempts to overthrow him. However, this is quickly put down and Broski agrees to hand over the crown to somebody who he believes to be capable of running the Dwarven Kingdom. Stronghold Braveaxe is originally chosen to be the next King of the Dwarven nation but he instead chooses to hand the crown over to Kjell Ireheart who he sees as being the most worthy candidate to lead the Dwarves. The Legion is sent to defend Salvus lands from the Orc army, after a coalition of nations attacks it. The Legion, lacking the strength it once had, is forced to retreat. Upon Kjell's crowning, he effectively establishes a dictatorship over the Dwarven nation. Many changes are made and Kjell moves the Dwarven capital once again, to Mount Ire, where a new city is built. Morgrim Blackaxe, a rogue Blackaxe to the Dwarven Kingdom and the son of Valen Blackaxe arrives at Mount Ire with a message for the rest of his brothers. He almost starts a rebellion against Kjell but soon negotiates with him, both Dwarves agreeing to create a government that is similar to the Dwarven governments of old. After a brief period of peace in the Dwarven Kingdom, tensions heat up with the Orcs once again, upon the emergence of the new Rex, Gromgok Gorkil. The north quickly becomes a battlefield for the Orc and Dwarf armies. The Ironguts and Starbreakers merge to create the Ironfists and the Blackaxes and Braveaxes merge to create the Grandaxes. Each clan is given a Hold within the Dwarven Kingdom. After many long years of tensions between Alras and the Dwarves, with both Syrio Forel and Aislin Hightower dead, the Dwarves invade Alras and with little resistance, reclaim it for the Dwarven Kingdom, restoring its old name of Kal'Alras. Paragon Kjell Ireheart reintroduces the Grand Council of old. With the victory against Alras and the clans being allowed to retain a degree of their independent nature, faith is restored in the Paragon by those who doubted him. With the Dwarven Kingdom now consisting of both multiple holds, a capital and the lands around Kal'Alras, a new Dwarven Empire is forged, with Paragon Kjell Ireheart as its leader. An Orc and Subudai army is defeated in the 'Battle of the Sands' by the Dwarven Empire. The Dwarves prepare for future counter attacks on Orc held land. The Subudai claim they were lied to by the Orcs and that their decision to attack the Dwarven Empire had been based upon a misunderstanding. The Dwarven City Here is a video made by me showing you how to get to Kal'Karik, the dwarven city. Aging System *From birth to about the age of 50, a Dwarf is a Beardling. A Beardling is young, with about the maturity of a toddler. They have yet to grow their beards, only having a bit of stubble on their faces *Between the ages of 50 and 100, a Dwarf is Adolescent. Although they are far more mature, they are inexperienced to the world around them, and are looked down as children by their elders. They are very rash in their decisions, but some of them begin to contribute to Dwarven society at this age *Past the age of 100, a Dwarf is considered an Adult. It is now that they have the most freedom, and the most responsibility for their actions. Dwarves gain more respect the older they are. At the age of 600, a Dwarf is considered “Old” and is an elder among the other Dwarves. Dwarves usually live to around 800. Dwarves live much longer than humans. They can live hundreds of years before they finally die out. The dwarves mature in a different way than most other races. They count their age in seasons. Each season is 7 years. Religion ~Creation Lore~Before anything, there was nothing. The only thing that could be described by today’s standards was The Void. The world was a vast emptiness that we can only barely describe. Yet within nothing, there was still Him, slumbering away the ages. He is not something that any moral can hope to truly comprehend. His existence is beyond what our minds were created to understand. He is called many different names, and is interpreted in many different aspects of what we understand. Few know who He really is, and of these few, only the Dwarves know. He is Yemekar, The Creator, The Smith. For an Age, Yemekar slept, until one day. One day, He woke. And as the Creator gazed around Nothing, he tired of his eternal vigil over All and created an Anvil. On this Anvil, He made for himself a Wife. Anbella. She was rosey of cheek, wide of girth, and stout of heart. Then, together, they slept. An Age passed once more. Then, once again, Yemekar awoke. And as he woke, he called to Himself his Wife, and went back to the Anvil, and together, they created their children. First, Grimdugan, Lord of Avarice. Then, Belka, Lady of Passion. Then, Dungrimm, Guardian of the Dead. Then, Ogradhad, The Loremaster. Then, finally, Armakak, The Merchant Father. And together, they were the Brathmordakin. And together, they created the world. No one can ever know how or why The World was created to begin with. Whether through thought, touch, voice, or pure will, within a second the Realm of Aegis, Asulon, and countless realms undiscovered began. There, above Their creation, The Brathmordakin looked down. The World was flawless, yet no mortal race could yet inhabit it. The Brathmordakin created to separate sides of Balances to maintain order throughout this new world. These Balances are the races know as Aenguls and Daemons. With the two Balances at their side, The Brathmordakin went down to what would be the location of the Cloud Temple of Aegis. With the Balances as his witnesses, The Brathmordakin brought up four effigies of stone. We do not know why They chose this form for Its children, but we can only guess that these sculptures were built in Its image as They saw Themselves. The Brathmordakin then breathed life into the effigies. The first It breathed in, It called Malin, which he gave the deepest forest of Aegis as a home. The next, Krug, was given Aegis’s deserts to reside in. The third, Horen, was given the rolling plains to build a nation. And last, The Brathmordakin’s favorite, shaped after their own creator, Urguan, was given the deepest cavern to raise his kin. We know not where they came from, yet soon more children of Brathmordakin follow the Four Brothers to each of their kingdoms. From them, the Brothers fathered their line, and soon each of them built great civilizations. The Four Brothers had great love for each other’s people. They were each other’s best friends and closest companion. Horen and Krug looked similar with their dark hair, but Krug was built bigger than any of the four. The other two looked different, Malin having blonde hair, and Urguan having red hair. Though they were more varied than any kin of their day, the Brothers loved each other deeply. Though their kin lived short and died under the eyes of their fathers, the Four Brothers lived on peacefully for hundreds of years. This seemly endless serenity changed, however, when a man who called himself Iblees. He seemed as a gentle being who loved all thing, and was quickly befriended by Malin, Urguan, and Horen. Though Krug had a distrust for him, he soon also accepted him as company. Iblees soon told the Brothers that he was from The Creator, and was to give gifts to the four races. Malin was a lover of nature, and was promised that he would have many children, who would forever be laughing throughout their forest homes. Wanting no more than his children to fill the barren forest, Mail accepted Iblees offer. Urguan was promised unlimited wealth comprising of gems and ores, in varieties never imagine. Urguan’s greed took hold of him, and he also accepted. Horen was offered the simple gift of immortality. Horen was afraid that he would die before he could see his kingdoms completed, so he quickly took the offer. To Krug, Iblees offered wealth, then food, then power, yet Krug did not want anything from Iblees. Enrage by Krug’s stubbornness, he challenged him to a fight to the death. Iblees revealed then his true intentions for the mortal races. Flying above Aegis, Iblees transformed into a beast never before seen by any mortal man. Scales, fangs, horns and wings emerged from his body. All of Aegis stood in complete shock. The kin of the Brothers were too weak to even try to oppose this evil monstrosity, yet the Four Brothers stood strong, ready to face Iblees. Krug charged first at Iblees unarmed, throwing himself on Iblees back. Thrown off by Iblees, Krug screemed as his skin burned, becoming green and rotten, as the Orcs of today. Iblees flew up into the sky, in a fit of rage. Where his fist hit, death and destruction came in a ball of fire. Yet the Brothers fought on. Urguan’s valor, Krug’s strength, Horen’s determination, and Malin’s agility smote the beast again and again, yet they could not get the upper hand. For thirty years the Brother fought Iblees. Of the dead, Ibless summoned them from their graves to plague the mortal even more. The more who died, the more powerful Iblees became. Yet through this conflict, the Brothers became torn apart. Krug became bitter of his other brothers. Urguan became greedy, hiding all spoils of war underground. Malin stayed in the sanctuary of his forest, as he feared for the remaining of his children. Horen became weak as a leader, and many of his men joined Iblees only to die in a murderous genocide. The world was destined for ruin, yet one day, one last hope arrived. The sound of horns rang out throughout Aegis. The mighty Brathmordakin heard the cries of the hopeless, and returned to save their creation. A multitude of Aenguls and Daemons appeared flying towards Iblees. The light they emitted was so overpowering that almost none could see what transpired. Only Malin with his strong sight could see the figures as they sped by, and recount what he saw to his Brothers. From the account of Malin, Iblees’s servants burned where they stood. The dead were consumed by the flame, and the living ran in attempt to escape the inferno. Iblees was chained by both light and darkness right where he stood. What looked like the the Seven Gods of the Brathmordakin stood infront of Iblees. Although all looked enraged at what happened, the one who seems to be the head of the Brathmordakin looked upon Iblees in what Malin could only describe as a beautiful fury. The Brathmordakin sentenced Iblees to eternal banishment, as they knew he could not be killed. However, before he was casted into the void, Iblees was able to echo one last curse across Aegis. These words have been documented by may source “You believe you may simply banish me from this plane and that my taint shall not last? I have touched this world with evil and it shall forever be part of the souls that inhabit it. Malin, I curse you with sterility, you and your kin shall forever lack the children they need. May your forest halls forever be silent, and your hearts heavy with sadness. Urguan, you have been made in the perfect image of the Brathmordakin. Thus as they have shunned my lust for greed I shall charge you with the greed I desire, may your kind suffer with labor bearing the itching thought that a simple coin will never be enough to sate your need. Horen, you wish immortality? I will curse you with the opposite, early death for you and your kin. You shall age quickly and die before you experience the fruits of your useless labour. And you Krug, the most hated of The Descendants, you shall always have the lust of war. You are strong? Well the strength shall be used against your brothers, used to pillage and murder! Your lust for battle shall be unsatiated and your descendants shall grow ugly and heartless.” As he uttered these last words, Iblees was banished to the void. Then, the head lieutenant of the Brathmordakin, Aerial herself walked up to the Four Brothers and began to speak. “There is nothing in my power that may undo what that evil did. There is one thing I may do however, and that is to bless you. Malin, may your forests be a sanctuary of peace and your children long lived. Urguan, may your descendants be hardy, strong hearted and strong of mind. Krug, may your people show valor and honor where none exist. And Horen, may your people one day explore the Seven Skies. I can do no more, for all my power is spent. We will go back to our master now, I believe your children may see us once more but long in the future.” After this speech, the host of Aenguls and Daemons disappeared into thin air. Here for most the story ends, yet for the Dwarves, they aren’t so ignorant. Urguan was blessed by the Brathmordakin with a dream. In this dream, Urguan was told about the true intentions of Iblees and the Head Aengul, Aeriel. Both Iblees and Aeriel had been in a power struggle to upset the balance of order. Both Aeriel and Iblees were trying to tip the balance in their favor. Iblees was the one to move first, however Aeriel would have moved just a fast if not for patience. With Iblees gone, it would be easier for Aeriel to tip the balance. If Iblees had his way, the world would have fallen into chaos, yet if Aeriel gain control, the world would fall into unwillful conformity. With this warning, Brathmordakin also instructed Urguan of his plans to counteract this corruption of the Balances. Brathmordakin would appoint the noblest of the mortal race to maintain the order throughout the world. Giving this knowledge, Brathmordakin departed telling Urguan to prepare his people for the instruction of the Paragons. The BrathmordakinThe dwarven faiths are collectively known as the Brathmordakin, which translates as either “Shield Kin on High” or “High Dwarves”. There are seven dwarven gods with Yemekar as the strongest and the de facto leader. The reason dwarves worship a god is to secure a place for their souls in the afterlife. When a dwarf dies, his soul travels to Dungrimm’s keep on the moon where it is auctioned off to the god who bids the highest for it. A dwarf that has faithfully served their god in life will have a much greater chance of bought by and serving that god in the afterlife. Yemekar – (yem-eh-kar) “The Maker” Symbol: Hammer & Anvil Alignment: Lawful Good Portfolio: Creation, leader, smithing, protection, metalcraft, stonework, fire Yemekar is the father and creator of the dwarven race. Honor him by emulating his principles and workmanship in smithing, stoneworking, and other tasks. Wisdom is derived from life and tempered with experience. Advance the dwarven race in all areas of life. Innovate with new processes and skills. Found new kingdoms and clan lands, defending the existing ones from all threats. Lead the dwarves in the traditions laid down by The Maker. Honor your clan leaders as you honor Yemekar. Anbella – (an-bell-ah) “Hearth Mother” Symbol: Two Silver Rings Alignment: Lawful Good Portfolio: Safety, honesty, home, healing, marriage, fertility, family, records, oaths, water, nature, peace Anbella is the wife of Yemekar. Just as dwarven souls are forged on Yemekar’s Ruhn-Anvil, they are ever warmed and nurtured by the loving embrace of the Hearth Mother. Tend to hearth, home, and land, drawing strength and safety from truth, tradition and the rule of law. Join with friends, kin and clan in common purpose. Do not succumb to the misery of greed or the evils of strife, but always bring hope, health and cheer to those in need. Once an oath is made, Anbella watches over its keeping – to break it is to wound her sorely. Children must be cherished and guarded well from harm, for they are the future of all dwarvenkind. Grimdugan – (grim-doo-gan) “Lord of Avarice” Symbol: Obsidian Dagger Alignment: Lawful Evil Portfolio: Greed, money, merchants, thieves, shadows The wealth of Aegis was created for those dwarves crafty enough to capture it by any means necessary. Revel in the possession of all wealth that shines or sparkles, for its pleasing form was meant to bring you pleasure. Greed is good, as it motivates the possession and holding of all that is precious. Do not seize wealth from the children of the Brathmordakin however, nor conspire against the favored of Grimdugan, for strife in the name of avarice weakens the clan. Belka – (bell-kah) “Lady of Passion” Symbol: A Lightning Bolt Alignment: Chaotic Good Portfolio: Love, romance, youth, dancing, courtship, explorers, travelers, lightning Be merciful in speech and deed. Temper your anger and hostility with constructive and charitable endeavor. The children of the dwarves must live in safety and propagate. Love with the fiery passion. Embrace the gift of life with courtship and marriage. Belka restores the fertile seed of dwarven life, while Anbella protects the fruit. Dungrimm – (dun-grim) “Guardian of the Dead” Symbol: An Iron Mask Alignment: Lawful Good Portfolio: Battle, valor, bravery, honor, defense, the dead, the moon The finest hours of dwarvenkind come in the thrusts and feints of war.
