Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: voll27

How old are you?: 14

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a bit of an oddball, and often question the world around me. These 'questions' though are more for my own amusement and are usually just jokes I say around my friends. My friends think I'm funny though, so at least it works.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Probably over the weekends, until Summer break begins. I can be on more after that.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is playing a character, a seperate person. Say I knew some important information regarding a war, my city is about to be attacked. My character doesn't know this information, so I'm not allowed to tell anyone anything. I go about buisness as usual.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've played a few games of Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is the act of using outside information in-character. From what I've gathered, it means using any information I've obtained IRL or out of character in-game. And nameplates, not supposed to acknowledge the nameplates.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power Gaming is the act of leaning RP in favor of yourself. As in, giving the other person no chance to react or being a total jerk & Godlike. An example, I'm talking to a few fellows and we get into a fight. They hold me down, RP wise, yet I somehow have the strength to burst from their grips even though there were at least 3 people holding me down. It doesn't make sense, and due to this it falls into the catagory of Power Gaming.

What do you expect this server will be like?: Fun, and an interesting experience. My hopes are that this is a griefer free server, and that I can RP, build, and play with other users without my home being burned to the ground for no reason.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I played on Simply Vanilla for a while, but none of my friends wanted to play with me so I got bored and left.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes I have.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I do.

How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: My friends LetsplayCmansez and Mentosento told me about you.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I think you changed your forums, because I can't find my previous applications; I have no more posts..(I haven't posted an application in a while. I was put off after being declined, but I've decided to try again.)

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (I'll have it posted there too.)

In-Character:

Character Name: Vosburgh the Wanderer

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you?: None.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I was raised in a small village, with my parents. The village was populated mostly by farmers and simple merchants, travelers were rare. Of these travelers, we never saw any other races besides Humans, and Dwarves; said folks actually had a mining camp near the village. Some of the Dwarves had been having some land disputes with the Orcs, and I learned about Orcs that way.

When I was fourteen, my parents and I were forced to leave our home, we couldn't pay the taxes anymore. They were getting too steep. We ended up leaving, with no place to go and with the task of finding a new place to live. So we left our small village, made our way to the mountains, advanced through the forests, and found a small field to live on. We built there; dad, mom and me. For eight years, we lived there farming and hunting. We were well established, but there was more for me outside the land we called our home. My father, agreeing with me, helped me pack up my things and sent me on my way. I've been without a home ever since.

Vosburgh has brown hair, brown eyes, and a big bushy beard. He's roughly 5' 9”, white, and is currently 27 years old. His personality, if defined in one word, would be 'busy'. He's usually on the go to some place, somewhere; doing some farm work for someone on a small farm in a place nobody has heard of. Vosburgh can often be seen exploring the wilderness, or doing mundane tasks that nobody else will do; but only for money. He likes to keep his belly full, and will empty his wallet if he faces starvation. He'll probably do that for any food, really. ..As long as he doesn't have any on him already.

What are your Character's ambitions?: My character wishes to settle down in a nice place, marry someone nice and maybe have a couple kids. He really just wants the life his parents had before him, a (mostly) happy one. As long as he can keep his house, that is.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My Character likes using his hoe the best, he's a good farmer. Having farmed with his dad for years as a child, Vosburgh has had plenty of practice.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?: Apart from farming, Vosburgh is actually an exceptionally good runner; his long legs come in handy.

Other Information about your Character: Vosburgh only walks barefoot, and isn't keen on spending money unless it benefits him in some way. (Charity isn't something he does very often.)

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Upon noticing the event, Vosburgh tries to go around. Trying not to draw any attention to himself, he sneaks past, and continues on his way. Of course he would feel bad for not helping, but in doing so he'd only get robbed in the process. Vosburgh is a man of peace, and not that great with a blade.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character's response?

Vosburgh ask the man what he wants. If the merchant is selling things, he might buy some tools. A replacement hoe to carry about, maybe a map of the area if the man has one. He wouldn't purchase anything extremely expensive, however. Apart from purchasing goods and supplies, he might ask where to find the nearest inn to rest the night, or perhaps where to get some food. If the man sells food, Vosburgh would most definitely buy some. He'd sell off the goods from the next question, too, and buy himself a snack.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Vosburgh greets this finding like a gift from the heavens! Being that the home is abandoned, there's no reason to leave the treasure to collect dust. He stashes the valuables, then searches the house and surrounding area for any additional supplies. After that, Vosburgh spends the rest of the day thinking about what to do with the treasure. He'll probably sell it off to a merchant to buy himself a nice dinner.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"Hello, my name is Vosburgh. I'm practically starving, and I've been walking for days. I've crossed mountains, deserts, waded through swamps, yet I've found nothing to eat. Please, would you spare something for a tired traveler?” If the people accept and feed Vosburgh, he would thank them, and ask for directions to the nearest twinkle of civilization. If they did not, he'd offer them plenty of money in order to get a meal. Beyond that, he would most likely beg until he was either threatened to leave or fed.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Being no good at fighting, Vosburgh stays put and takes in the information. Taking a mental note, he decides to return to his current residence and stay put until the bandits have been dealt with.

Very nice app, you demonstrate a good knowledge of literature and I found your open response questions very detailed though they may not be as long as others you stated what your character would do and why.

My only suggestion is that if you were to ever post your bio, try using more Asulon Lore like perhaps city names ect ect...

A GM will Implement you to the server soon...
