In your own words, define what the act of Roleplaying is:

Roleplaying is something that game players do to escape the real world and be who they want to be. I have been a fan of roleplaying since my early childhood and I have always wanted to find a character that reflects me, but also one that has its own personality. You create a brand new person, and live as them in their world and like they would.

In your own Words, define what the act of Metagaming is:

Meta gaming is Using information you learnt OOC IC. IRL, you would have no way of knowing these things, and when you Meta game it completely defeats the purpose of role-playing and makes it less fun for you and for other people.

In your own Words, define what the act of Powergaming is:

Power gaming is, while role-playing, you do not give others around you a chance to react or respond. If you were to RP fight someone, power-gaming, for example, would be to: ‘lunges at opponent, punching their head and knocking them out’

In-Character:

Character Name: Tolak Dragonbane

What Race are you?: Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Cave Dwarf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Tolak’s story begins when he was a mere 4 years old. He was born into a family torn by war. His father was a warrior in the Alrasian Military and his mother was the local merchant. He was taught to fight at a young age and is a warrior by heart. He is rather big for a Dwarf with a dark ginger beard and a strong iron helmet. He has an axe strapped to his back to somewhat ‘showcase’ his strength and show that he is a force not to be reckoned with. When Tolak’s father was sent off to a war in a far away land, far southeast of the Cloud Temple, Tolak’s mother was distraught. She begged him not to go and was devastated when he was reported ‘Killed in action’. Tolak was horrified to hear that as well. What scared him the most, was who he though was an invincible man, had been brought down. Tolak’s life only went downhill from that point on. His mother went into a deep depression and ended up killing herself. Tolak was put into an artificial family for the next eight years of his life.

Those eight years were a nightmare for Tolak. All he could think about were his former parents, saying they loved him, over and over again. ‘Did th’ realleh mean it?’ Tolak thought to himself. ‘If th’ realleh loved me, would the’ just leave me? No. Th’ did love me’ Tolak concluded ‘and if they were here now, th’ would want me to stand up for meself’.

The next few years trudged by as if there were weights attached to them. When Tolak finally considered himself ready, he ran away to join the military. He couldn’t stand the thought of thousands of Dwarves dying in vain. He is 143 years old, and he will not waste those years on nothing. He is going to fight.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

To join the Alrasian Military, as his father once did, and fulfill his destiny as a brave warrior. He wants to be feared, a character not to be messed with. A true Dwarf.

Other Information about your Character:

He is a vengeful character and doesn’t forget the face of a foe. Then again, he doesn’t forget the face of an ally either. Tolak is not a very judgmental character and does not judge other people by their appearance, as he knows he would hate them to do the same to him.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling fro m the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?:

Tolak’s quick thinking have been renowned for getting him into bad situations. He does not glance twice at the two warriors and keeps on walking. He growls to himself as he hears the poor halfling flailing about. Then Tolak stops. He turns around and looks at the warriors, they have thrown the halfling to the ground and around about to stomp on his stomach. Tolak has no choice, he charges at one of the warriors, knocking him to the ground. The second warrior is faster and kicks Tolak’s legs out from underneath him. Tolak doesn’t give up and springs himself up, dodging a punch from the downed warrior. The Halfling is already running by the time Tolak has taken down the second warrior. He grabs both of their elbows and pushes them into the ground while whispering into their ears, ‘Nex’ time, it won’ jus’ be me’. This wasn’t true, Tolak doesn’t have an army, he doesn’t even have a companion, but the warriors didn’t know Tolak, and as Tolak let go of them, they scrambled to their feet and dashed off in the opposite

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?:

‘Ello there sir! Wot a fine day i’ is! Could ya’ spare some Ale for a sober dwarf?’ Tolak roars in a strong ((Scottish)) accent, booming with laughter. The merchant smiles awkwardly and hands over a bottle of Ale. ‘Thank ya’ fine sir!’ Tolak says as he downs half of the Ale in a single swig, ‘I’ll be back for more, ay!’ Tolak bellows, dropping a bag of Minas on the counter. The merchant’s grin increases as Tolak walks away, stumbling over his own two feet.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Tolak see’s the shining iron bars and looks around cautiously, then thinks to himself for a minute ‘would me father take these?’ Tolak dismisses the thief inside of him and leaves the Iron and sword for some other, more foolish being to find. He cannot become a thief. It would bring dishonor to his family, his father and most importantly, him.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?:

Tolak sees a friend sitting near a small fire and goes to greet him. Tolak is a trusting person and with an ally at his side, doesn’t feel vulnerable, but just incase, he puts his axe by his side. His friend accompanies him to the main trading tent. ‘ello there! I’m rather ‘ungry, got any steak or bread or anythin?’ The man in front of a chest smiles as he pulls out 10 loaves of bread. ‘That’ll do nicely sir, I thank ye’ for your generosity’ Tolak says, before exchanging the bread for an amount of Minas. Tolak then leaves the tent,

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard has gathered and is asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Tolak is an eager fighter and always seeks an opportunity to show off his axe skills and gladly puts his name down. He can also use any Minas he can get. As he sees the other warriors gathering and readying their weapons, he pities the puny bandits. He sees one of them in an Alrasian Military uniform. ‘Ye’ must b’ in th’ Alrasian Military then aye?’ Tolak queries the Dwarf. ‘Aye, why do ye’ ask, brother?’ Tolak shrugs and mutters ‘Very stong army, Alras, ‘in it? The Dwarf sees Tolak’s face sink as he says this. ‘Well then, we best be stickin’ together now, shouldn’t we?’ Tolak smiles at the other Dwarf as they strike axes (a form of trust). ‘I didn’ quite catch yur name sir’ Tolak asks the Dwarf, ‘Name’s Ironmail. Thrain Ironmail.’ Replies the once mysterious Dwarf ‘Tolak Dragonbane’ Tolak smiles to Thrain. ‘Alright then!’ one of the town guards shouts, ‘We sneak up from both sides of the road and attack from there.’ Thrain takes the left side and Tolak takes the right as they head into their attack positions.

The battle was over and the bandits had fled. Tolak and Thrain laughed happily as they juggled bags of Minas. Tolak was one step closer to what he had been waiting for his entire life. Revenge. This new companion Tolak befriended had proven to have all the qualities that Tolak admires most. Loyalty, honesty, courage and generosity.
