A Test Of Power, A Giant's Death.

The rain falls calm and gently at the cloud, a moment of peace amongst the land of chaos. The fresh air enters everyone's air ways, a sense of calm bestowing the people. The signs of a storm coming.

The water runs over the brim of the cloaked man's straw hat, sliding just out of reach of his silken robes. This calm, this peacefulness, Rusen knew well enough it would not last, in fact he pleaded it would not. The power, it had been brewing inside of him, mixing within his cells, attaching itself to him, and it craved more. He had trained relentlessly on the stone dummies at his fortress for days on end, and yet it was not enough to appease his hunger. He wanted more.

From the corner of his blood red eyes he spots a familiar face, a face that has been etched into his mind for days on end, the face of a known stranger. Reaching into her pack, the beggar Selina begins pulling odd trinkets out of her bag. A wooden violin and a doll. Running her soft fingers over their cold shells the twitch and move, oddly at first. Watching at first with little interest, his eyes widen ever so slightly from their lazy glance, watching with interest now. Stepping closer and leaning on the wall near her, he watches as she creates life from nothing. They move in unison. One doll picks up the odd wood violin, stringing its fictional cords and creating a beautiful melody. As she brings out more dolls she sets life into them, and soon it is a event of excitement, the dolls unfolding into a scene with dancers, musicians and all. Bringing his hands together he begins to clap.

"That tal..."

A bellowing roar is heard. "ARUGHHGHGHGHHH" beckoning all whom stand in the grace of the temple.

Packing up her things, the seemingly mute Selina looks to Rusen a last time before heading towards the sound of the roar. His own interest peaked, about the beast and Selina, he rises, following in suit. Lagging behind her a few minutes, he tries to track down the noise, the crowd, though the beast makes it easy, letting off another roar. Stepping down the orcish path it is evident what has come. Immediately he sees the beast, though he sees more than just the beast, several men being rushed off by cloud monks, all severely hurt. One man looks to have had his leg torn off. Striding down the path with more interest, he stops in his tracks, his eyes widening as he sees the beast.

Standing over 25 feet tall, his roar deafening, and hefting a large tree as if a club, the creature looks confused, scared, the creature looked like prey. Summoning forth his new found power, a black fog surrounds him, his hand heading to his blade with his straw hat tipped down, he marvels for a moment "A test... of strength" he says under his breath, ignoring the madness, the chaos around him, people dying, screaming in pain, though his thoughts focused.

Slowly sliding out his iron katana, pressing it into his left hand, he pulls his right katana and holds it in his right hand, his golden katana still at his side. Ten people remained, all the others dead or having run, and of those three he spots two he knows. "Vor Kalen... and the beggar" He smiles to himself "Just leave me to it" he says, though not to anyone in particular, his voice hardly a whisper. The beast roars, sweeping his three and catching three unlucky men. The fly back and hit the mountain side, their spines snapping like twigs.

Taking one step forward, and then another, he undoes his outer robes to give him more freedom in movements, his strides turning into a full blown roaring sprint, both blades in hand as he dashes forward. His voice almost matches that of the giants, his bellowing roar deafening those around him as he nears his ankle. Sliding to a halt he begins slashing at the Giant's ankles

Attempting to disable his movement, though hardly able to pierce the thick skin

"BACK OFF YOU CLOAKED FOOL" shouts Vor Kalen above the deafening noise "IT WILL KILL YOU". Rusen stops for a moment, withdrawing his bloodied blades before retreating a few steps. The beast roars in annoyance, sweeping for Rusen though missing him by a hair. Calmly speaking back to Vor, his eyes dead set on the beast "No." he says with a almost blank tone "This. This is my challenge. This is my test. I will not fail"

The beast roars once more, taking several threatening steps closer to Rusen, though he plays along, stepping back and to the side and meeting his speed to stay out of range, both confusing it and annoying it more. His fog swirls behind him, getting darker as he gets into combat. Sheathing his Iron Katana swiftly, he holds his diamond blade in his right hand, staring the beast down "PREPARE YOURSELF" he shouts at it, as if simply another being he could cut down. Sending his palm forward, he flips it, palm up, and focuses on it.

"Control, this power. Focus, your power. Imagine it. And so it will be.

He recalls upon Rilath's teachings, shaping the fog into his hand. Within a split second the fog forms into a thick swirling ball of pure shade energy, materializing in its most pure form. The ball, catching the giants attention it ***** its large head, then sneers as a arrow hits the back of its neck, turning away from Rusen "LOOK AT ME AS I KILL YOU" he roars, bounding forth in large strides, left, right, left, right as he nears the giant, getting exactly what he wants. The giant turns, immediately sending a large tree trunk to his side, connecting with a snap, the ball mere inches away from contact point, dissipating as his body flies through the air, forming back into his body. He hits the tree behind him, groaning in pain, though he allows himself no freedom to rest.

Flinging several more arrows into his neck, VorKalen swears, throwing down the bow "ARROWS ARE USELESS" he roars as he draws his Shamsir. Selina watches calmly, waiting for her chance to strike, and as she sees her opening she rushes in, sweeping at his feet with a seemingly wooden staff. The damage... was incredible, the Giant trips and stumbles, the staff clearly so much then just a wooden tool, though Rusen is to busy to notice it, in a full blown sprint as he jumps towards the sign board, the giants attention focused on Vor, he clambers up it, leaping off it and flying into the air, katana in hand, towards the Giants back. He grabs his katana with both hands, sending it into the giants back and holding onto it as he tries to scale it.

"ARUHGHGHGGHGHHHH"

The giant roars, slobber and blood flying everywhere as it drops to the ground, trying to roll and crush Rusen. Quickly leaping off of it and tucking into a roll, he sprints towards the stands "REGROUP" he roars to Selina and Vor, the only other people there aside from him now. Not knowing what else to do, Vor and Selina head to him just as the giant gets up. He calms himself, lowering his voice to a hushed tone "We need to plan our attacks" he says, looking between them as the giant roars and begins to charge "No more mindless attac..." He is cut off as the giant reaches them, pinning Vor and himself with in the stands, Selina towards the side of it "BEGGAR" He says, looking at the giant "GET BEHIND IT. HIT IT IN THE BACK OF THE KNEE" The giant breaks through some of the stands, pinning Vor as Rusen rolls away, taking out his golden Katana.

Just as Selina reaches the giant, so too does Rusen, they both leap into the air and strike. Rusen's golden katana enters its knee cap like a hot knife through butter, just as Selina's staff hits the back side of its knee, the resulting trauma and shock disabling it as it falls, Vor rolls out of its path as it crashes down on the stalls. "Finally" Rusen says, just as the giant roars in pain once more, squirming and dying, though not dead yet. Selina jumps on top of its body as Rusen runs, trying to scale up it she grabs his hand and halls him up. Sprinting down its back they both head to its skull, in a final strike they both slam down their weapons upon the back of its skull. Rusen's blade sends a splutter of blood and brain matter onto the two as Selina's enchanted staff shatters its skull. It dies almost instantly, twitching only a few more times. Cleaning his blade, he sheathes it, walking over to its back and taking out the previous blade he put into it, sliding that away as well before hopping off its back. "I came to fight. I came to kill. Both have been achieved, you may have all loot you find" He says in a hushed cold whisper as he walks off, down the path, his body aching though feeling better than ever, his power growing.

(Ah... I remember this. Very, very enjoyable RP combat. Awesome job by the way, you captured the essence of the frantic combat quite well.)
