The Refitting Of The Beard

*The grand and mighty docklands of Arehtor were bustling as usual. Large ships from across the realm arriving all the time bringing in the new goods and freight to trade amongst the Holy Oren Empire. The ships alongside had countless crew hurrying around unloading freight and cargo with both cranes and by hand. You also had the small stalls where you would find small merchants trying to flog off anything they could get their hands on to these new arrivals. However, the main birth was held by the most magnificent and greatest ship of the seas; the flagship of Oren Navy, the mighty ‘King Syrio’s Beard’. For long now had it been resting in port with its cannons rolled in and its sails furled up. The crew stood watch and completed the routine tasks as per usual under the command of their captain.*

*It was the ordinary type of day; with the sun shining and the wind at a gentle refreshing pace through the dock area. The usual work was taking place with both men and machines around the piers. However, this day was to prove different for one ship in particular. After acceptance from the Emperor, the refurbishment of the ‘King Syrio’s Beard’ was to begin shortly.*

*A small group of men finely dressed in naval uniforms and hats walked towards the docks. With the medals hanging from their jackets and papers clutched underneath their arms, they reached the pier to which the ‘King Syrio’s Beard’ was moored. One of the men, Captain Elessar Silverblade, stood to the front of the crowd and opened up a scroll. After quickly reading over it he turned to the rest of the men. Then, whilst reading the scroll, Elessar beings to give orders and gestures to where each stage should be stationed around the ship. After each order a few men would run off around the ship and seem to begin their work. Large amounts of wood were brought alongside as well as metal and ropes to be used for the work.*

*After all work and orders have been given out, Elessar and a crewman walk around the docks and start posting up a note for the people to read. After posting people quickly begin to crowd the posters and read the contents.*

*The first stages of the refurbishment have begun with the upper decks being ripped out and all furniture being replaced. Also the master painters have begun to scrape off the previous red paint and started to coat over it with a dark Royal Blue colour. There are signs around to keep people off the wet paint and also the supplies lain along side the pier. With the sails off and the anchors down, the Beard is currently unmovable.*

*After a month of work all the labourers and workmen have nearly finished the new coat of paint. With all of the old and fading red paint, the new royal blue was in place. Also with the large shipment of fine bunks and bedding, deck three has been outfitted with many spaces for the crew to sleep. Most of the cargo chests and its hold has been cleared and filled with new hardware. With most of the work being completed, the bulk of the crew are now put to work, cleaning and preparing the guns.*
