Ooc: The Fjarriauga

It has come to my attention there's been a lot of metagaming regarding the Fjarriauga (also known as Frost Witches). This is beginning to ruin our role-play, so we've decided to put together a post detailing who we are (since there have been one or two people who have tried to be a Fjarriauga without being cursed) and who actually knows about us and what we are (to try and limit metagaming). Any enqueries, comments or questions about us or our role-play can be posted here and we'll get back to you on them.

So, without further ado, here we go.

 

Current Fjarriauga - Only those listed here may use frost witch magic!

Anyone not on this list is not a Fjarriauga. No exceptions.

Please remember your character does not know who or what a frost witch or Fjarriauga is until they actually find out! A bit of advice when deciding if your character knows who we are or not -

 

SO. LET US REVIEW:

-You see we live in a magical tower! It does not mean you know what we are.

-You see we have ice powers! It still does not mean you know what we are.

-You've seen us eat people! It STILL does not mean you know what we are!

-You've seen a Fjarriauga out of her disguise! It STILL does not mean you know what we are!

-A frost witch tells you, herself, what she is. You know what a Fjarriauga is!

It is okay to be suspicious if you see a lady with grey skin chowing down on a person! It is also okay to be suspicious of a group of creepy ladies living in a tower! But coming up to their door, knowing everything about them, and calling them "frost witches" or a variation is not okay!

Even if you've seen them using ice powers and eating people undisguised, calling them Fjarriauga or Frost Witches is still not okay. A witch must TELL you what they're called. Til then, "cannibal lady ice monster mages" will do just fine.

A very good point, I really like the whole idea of a coven of icy women who eat men, and it's a shame people are getting their meta on to combat them. Just a question about the FW, are they still cold when disguised as other races?

Indeed, they are always indentifiable by their icy-cold touch. Do remember that unless you know what the Fjarriauga are, you wouldn't be able to recognise them just for that. It certainly isn't normal, though.

You should use whisper within your tower and underground area. I was walking on the road next to the tower and was able to hear some... let's say stuff. Considering I know I wouldn't hear anything through a 10 block thick wall of dirt, I'm not going to use the information, just saying. Whisper surely helps to keep out some of the metagamers ^_^

Duly noted. That's not our real trouble with metagamers, though. It's the people who show up at our door knowing everything about us that's the main issue.

((You should note the "Volsungs" would know what you were as you are part of their myths. We would not know you personally but we would know or at least think we knew about what you were. Think about what you "know" about any type of mythical being and then have one of them show up in you rl life. That is how it would be to us.))

I've actually had some trouble with you and your friends, Sala. I heard from Minnan1, who was apparently telling stories about us in the Cloud Temple, that you and Sahra had told him about icy cold women who grew hostile toward men when they were hungry (exact words Minnan used). This is WAY too much for you to know (prior to the attack that just happened, of course). First of all, to my knowledge, no Frost Witch (before the attack) ever touched you. Second of all, you are a man and we weren't hostile toward you until you attacked us.

We've had interactions, but just assuming things like that and telling people is not okay. "They live in a tower made of snow, so they must be icy cold and eat people!" It's okay to be suspicious (you should be!) but no one in real life would make enormous leaps of logic like that.

And yeah, come back to our tower again and I'll hang that pretty skull mask of yours above my bed.

I heard from Minnan1, who was apparently telling stories about us in the Cloud Temple, that you and Sahra had told him about icy cold women who grew hostile toward men when they were hungry (exact words Minnan used). Sure, here's my explanation:

I was traveling along the dwarven road when I first discovered the tower with Sahra. We approached it and Arabella came out and spoke to us. During the large conversation, former frost witch Ellysia [borgtrek7 was in frost witch form] tried to sneak up behind me and stab me, or which Sahra quickly blocked with her staff. I never ICly said specifically they were only hostile towards men, I specified they attacked me in my explanations, not her.

[Edit, note that after she attacked me, her and arabella both retreated into the tower]

During another encounter, with borgtrek7 again, she was at the Cloud Temple and transforming [or something], and I rushed to her side confused as to what was going on, and was going to lift her, stopping when I noticed she was icy cold, and when the transformation was complete, noticed it was the same person who attacked me a month or so earlier.

EDIT: Was I to void all prior RP I had with Elysia? I never recieved any notice of this.
