The Order of the Hammer

In the beginning we lived as thieves, stealing fur and fang of beasts for survival. Then came the Builder who brought us the hammer, and with it we forged a new way of life. To reject the hammer is to denounce The Builder. ~The Hammer Book of Tenents 1:1~

Welcome traveler of Asulon, for I am Lock'eed Ironheart High Priest of the thirteenth chapter of the Hammerite Order. I will be your guide as I take you through the history, writings and teachings of our order. Nah! somethings I will not reveal of the oganization as they are kept secret and only high ranking members are allowed witness to such secrets. Maybe you will prove your merit and gain access to the orders great secrets, only time will tell. So let us be off on our journey through the times and trials of our order.

Heed these warnings! For what I'm about to tell you may seem alittle strange, far fetched if you may... You can either listen or leave now the choice is yours. ((This is our religous ideology))

The years do not matter, however the worlds are different. We share the same trees, animals and way of life. We are all conected through the Creator and the deity children that watch over us. It's with these deities that we all follow, in the begining there was but the Creator. In the vast voids of the darkness the Creator made many worlds, stars and the heavens we see above us.

Time would pass and the Creator grew alone and with that looked to create four children to keep company among the heavens. True form of good was created "Law" for he was just and good, next was "Chaos" for he was the opposite of his brother Law, Life was then created and she was mother to all living things and last was the balance to each of the three the Builder for with this last deity was the embodiment of free will. We all have the essence of the Builder in us it is with this that we either go the path of righteousness or through the dark halls of corruption and evil, it is with this that some follow the laws of life and protect all living things. And last it is with the following of the Builder that the Hammerites were born.

We choose to follow directly in the path of the Builder as caretakers to the balances of good and evil to keep check life and the world around us. We choose to watch over and keep the balance. With our builds and with the Hammer as our gift from the heavens we keep a vigilant watch.

~ Book of the Dawn ~

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it. The iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate. But thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

~ The Hammer Book of Tenets 6:3 ~

Here are the Hammerite ten commandments

1.Thou shalt place no other gods above The Builder.

2.Thou shalt not forge for thyself or worship a carved image of any idol lest it be of The Hammer.

3.Thou shalt not commit heresy against The Builder's Name.

4.Thou shalt remember the Day of Forging, so thou mayest keep it holy.

5.Thou shalt honor thy father and mother, for they were forged in the Likeness of The Builder.

6.Thou shalt not murder, unless it's a heathen, in which case, pound thy heathen's skull into the ground with thine Hammer of Holy Wrath.

7.Thou shalt commit no adultery against thine mate.

8.Thou shalt not steal from the House of the Builder.

9.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thine Brother.

10.Thou shalt not covet thy Brother's house, thy Brother's wife, nor his servant, nor his burrick, nor his mistress, nor anything that is thy Brother's.

I myself have been in the order for many decades now, as for my origins they are kept secret to the Builder and myself and a few others. The order is secretive in the fact that we do not openly show the world our existence. We do not openly preach or try and convert everyone, however we do seek out the gifted and offer a chance to join the order. And as does fate the gifted find us, "praise the Builder and his plan". A true balance can be tested in a build and with that we seek out to build structures all throughout the lands.

Ironrock Castle

Now let me go over some of the benefits that one will be given upon joining our order.

1. Paid vacations and sick days.

2. Good health package plans which include a very detailed dental and dismemberment plan. Please check with the orders surgeon on which plan suits you.

3. Safe banking to store your coin.

4. A community of family and friends loyal to the end.

5. Community vault for all to use.

6. Community coin for all to use.

7. Everyone has a voice, you hold power to voice your concerns and problems.

8. No taxs, we provide for eachother and in doing so no one is required to pay taxs while under the roof of the Builder.

9. Jobs advancement Newtree2-1.png

10. Show great merit and dedication to the order and the High priest will bestow on you great titles.

((I donate for members if they show exemplary conduct in the order and ooc))

11. The best God to watch over you, and protect you. Though you have to be mindful for building ugly structures does anger him. But he is forgiving and will allow for mistakes as is with all trials in life.

12. We hold no malice to any race or gender, all are welcome.

How to become a pledge?

We have but one solid rule. Dedication to one town, you are free to leave whenever you please but we ask you keep a discretion on telling others what you saw and learned while in the order.

((Too many people play in different towns on same accounts it creates to much chance of ooc meta gaming and a loss of team pride. I have no issues if you want to go to events and rp as different characters temporarily. It's when Jim lives as Jack in enemy town and relays information back to friends in other town that it becomes a problem.))

Now I've left alot unanswered and our lore is a tightly guarded, if you have any questions please send me a letter((PM IC <-- I really dislike tells in game as they ruin in my opinion roleplay. I'm very busy and I perfer PM's to tells. Thank you)) and I will get with you or have a Hammer contact you. This also applies to build contracts and pledges, if I'm free I will try and speak with every letter but I cannot guarantee I can. I am after all the High Priest of our order and it is kind of taboo to speak to me directly, but I will make exceptions to certain cases. As I leave you to ponder know this that the town of Ironrock is made of three tiers for each area of the grounds is earned access and some areas are locked to certain people. Much of the city just like any other city has its places of access and places of locked areas. Will you come fourth to prove your worth among the Hammers? Only you can decide your destiny.

Welcome to the order Locke Blackthorne.

I've gone over the paperwork and have sent word through the order to be expecting you. I am sure you have already met a few of the hammers while here. And as for your trial by fire I'm still going over some details with my colleagues on what quest to send you on.

I'll be in contact soon about this as for now take some time to become familiar with our order. Any questions feel free to ask, however there are some things that will remain secret until you have proven yourself.

Good tidings Lee Scorsby

I am Lock'eed Ironheart, High Priest of our Hammerite order. I heard much about you and look forward to hearing much about your tales and knowledge of the past. As for thieving among our order, you do not need worry. For the trickster does not dwell within our walls nor our shadows. The Builder has blessed me with a long standing following of trusted men and women of all ages an races. And if you are in need of a lock well then I can arrange for the finest crafted lock chest for you.

In the order we do strive to rise above material needs and look to the better of our kin. For in death you cannot take with you the richs or ores you found in your life. For the ultimate reward is to become immortal with the builds you help create. May it be of stone or of mind, to be recalled in storys or to have your name in stone on a build. This will surely make the Master Builder smile upon you.

To have ones name echoed throughout the ages is the greatest wealth any Hammer could aquire.

The building of grand structures and that of minds,

tis everything is in the Master Builders plans.

Make certain they all have strong foundations.

*nailed to the mine entrance*

Greetings Brothers,

There hast been a recent influx of heathens in thy mines. Be on ye guard. Skeletons, slimes, and spiders hast entered the complex and pose a problem for the miners below.

However, I hast discovered additional ruins below, and am currently trying to excavate them to see what thy mighty Builder hast in store.. until then, be weary my brothers.

*A notice is nailed over Locke's warning.

- Citizens of Ironrock -

It has come to our attention that the mines are experiencing an elevated level of activity. Monsters have been running rampant. Because of this, we have decided to install new protocol for the miners' safety. Until further notice, all mining shifts are to be accompanied by a member of the town guard. The ratio of miners to guard shall be set at 5:1. We will not allow these abominations to deter our momentum.

In a non related matter. All magma pools are to be left as found. We are current in the process of developing a safe and secure way to transport magma to our furnaces as we have recently found it to be very effective in the smelting process. Specific members of the mining team are being trained on the process, and are the only ones who should be handling the transportation.

We are pleased with the recent progress on the city. There is no doubt the Master Builder smiles upon every brick we have laid. Continue to work with diligence knowing that our works go beyond us all.

*a note is placed just to the side of the High Councils Note*

Brothers,

Please try and capture the more exotic creatures such as the gelatinous gloop things, as it has come to my attention that the gel they secrete makes a most excellent glue/adhesive for book binding. Additionally, it has come to be attention that they seem to divide in a binary fashion, allowing them to expand quite rapidly.

So, if you can, please try and capture the smaller ones, so I may examine and hopefully allow others to inspect these rather bizarre creatures.

One last thing, would it be possible to get some sign posts up in the lower levels of the mine to aide in direction to the main hall? I cannot count the times I have walked around in circles. A mapping survey would be very useful, and may aide us in seeking of the builders wishes.

May the Builder Bless Your Creations,

Locke

* Looks over the posted notes and places a new one on the pledge guildhalls front door.

I will personally see to it that the mines have better markings. In doing so I'll have a book brought to the pledges on glyph direction translation. By no means should anyone openly mark directions on signs but only use glyphs. These are used in pointing the direction to safe rooms and ways of direction in large areas.

Last please do not make pets of the gelatin creatures. We all can testify to Jarl and his pet incident with "Slimer" not only where we falling on our rears all the time from that things mess in the halls but the smell itself was worse then a dead bovine in extreme desert heat. If you have to study slimes do so in the mines and not in the grand halls.

Thank you.

*Locke see's the new post and chuckles at the story "This might be worth asking about", he ponders, with a grin on his face.. his limbs still hurting from whatever occurred when he visiting Arethor, and something deep within him knew he should let it go. Turning away, and heading back to his room in the Guild Hall, the thought of seeing a large slime slithering around the temple made him chuckle again*

Fellows,

It seems like the gelatinous goo we called 'slimes' have found a way to the surface.. I was assaulted by one of them just outside my chambers this morning, but luckily I had my blacksmith hammer ready, and squished it.. so I apologize for the smell within the barracks.

I feel we may need to find a way to control this problem as the slimes give us ample supplies of decent glue, but at the same time are rather annoying.

I will leave it for further discussion.
