Mercen's Sickness

As you stroll through the Vale, and over the Mead Crossing bridge, you suddenly hear the faint sounds of coughing, it seems to be coming from Mercen's burrow, curious, you walk towards his door, and put your ear right up to it. Now you can clearly hear the coughing, along with sniffling, and slight moans. Not being able to stand by and listen to a halfling in this condition to promptly knock on the door. As you hear the shuffling of feet you just think you should've opened the door and let yourself in, instead of making him stumble about to let you in. The door opens, and Mercen puts on a very fake smile.

"'ello there! 'ow can I 'elp ye?" he says while holding in coughs.

You tilt your head as you answer "I heard some 'orrible noises coming from here, are ye alright Mercen"

He reassures you blaming the sickness on his aging body, though he is only in his late 30's. You see his bright red nose, and tired eyes, his pale face, and shaking hands. Knowing he isn't okay, you decide to play along with his ideas, and come back with others later to tell him he needs help.
