Zuma

Character Skillset:

Zuma learned how to be very stealthy at an early age so he could go around unnoticed and unharmed. Zuma was never allowed a sword, and chases after birds in the jungle with his bare hands.

Appearance (age, SUBRACE, gender):

Zuma is a seven year old male Kha'Pantera. He is very small and scrawny, standing at about 2'2 and not weighing all that much. Zuma has dark black fur with a white spot on his belly, as well as a small white spot on his forehead with long white whiskers protruding from his face. Zuma only wears a small loincloth.

Personality:

Zuma is frightened by nearly everything that moves. He is a very shy and timid kitten who is very curious about the world around him, however he is so jumpy that he would sprint away from a tree if a cocoa bean fell from it and startled him. However, if you manage to get close to Zuma, he will stay by your side.

Please include a short bio of your character's life:

Zuma was born in the midst of the Karukatan jungle, and emerged from it as a small kitten into Xer'Tlaasu. Zuma had no recollection of his mother or his father, and was doomed to wander the streets as an orphan. He was much too frightened of all the large and scary Kha everywhere to ask for help, so he ran around in the streets picking up scraps to eat and tried to avoid confrontation with anyone. At times all Zuma wished for was to be picked up by a loving and caring family to raise him and teach him, but he focused more on the immediate task of survival.

Character's ambitions:

Zuma only wishes to be able to live comfortably, and have a nice Kha adopt him. Zuma wishes to get over his fear of most things and general skittishness, one day, he wants to hold his own and be able to defend himself instead of running away.

1.

As you travel through the Karakatuan jungle, you spot a human trespassing on your nation's lands. He approaches you, obviously distressed, and asks for any food, water, or shelter that you can provide, then tells you that he has been lost in the area for days without any proper supplies. How do you react?:

Zuma is lying down under a tree, napping when he awakes to loud footsteps. A human emerges from the jungle and begins saying, "I'm lost, cou-".

Before he says anymore, Zuma lets out a loud shriek before scrambling up the nearest tree. Zuma then disappears into the canopy, where he watches from safety as the human searches desperately for Zuma. Zuma then feels a pang of remorse and shyly points a paw out of the leaves pointing and says quietly, "Youssa wanna go thatta way, eeza safe dere." After doing so, Zuma runs and leaps as fast as he can through the trees until he feels like he has covered a good distance between him and the scary human. There he searches for more food to fill his ever empty stomach.

2.

As you romp through the lands of the "apes", you come across a tavern. Inside this tavern, a Dwarf notices you and starts gawking at you, then begins to speak.

"Oi! I gots a bowl of cream for you, Kitty! Ha! I'd bet you would make a nice throw rug, wouldn't ya, ya mangy furball?!"

He continues act generally as racist as possible. What do you do?:

Already hiding in the darkness of the corner of the Tavern, Zuma's ears perk up at the mention of a bowl of cream. However, when the dwarf goes on to threaten him, Zuma lets out a loud and scared sounding hiss. Zuma then tries to blend in to the darkness of the corner, but it is too late. The dwarf approaches Zuma, now yelling more obscenities that Zuma doesn't even understand. Just as the dwarf has Zuma cornered, Zuma lets out a yelp of panic, and dashes as quickly as he can through the dwarf's legs. Zuma then runs into the tavern's kitchen and hides in a cupboard. Zuma refuses to come out at first, but when a kind halfling cook holds a piece of fish outside of the cupboard, Zuma runs out after it, snatching the fish in his mouth. Afterwards, Zuma backs into a corner and eats the fish cautiously while carefully watching the cook to make sure he doesn't hurt Zuma. As soon as he is done with his meal, Zuma leaves the Tavern and quickly heads back to the familiar jungle of his homeland.

3.

One of your fellow Kharajyr and a close friend of yours comes to your dwelling in the middle of the night and begins to pound on your door. After you let him in, he confesses to killing another Kharajyr over a slice of cake. What do you do in response?

Zuma goes to greet his trusted friend and is told of the terrible crime that the Kharajyr committed. Zuma gasps, and begins to panic. He pokes his head out of his dwelling and looks about for any guards, not seeing any, he tells his friend, "You leave now! Meesa no get involved... You was neva here! Leave Zuma be! Zuma no wants part in your crime!". Zuma then retreats back into his dwelling without another word, and curls up in the corner, horrified that a guard saw him talking to the murderer that used to be his friend. Zuma doesn't sleep that night, but is kept awake by the fear that he will be taken by the guards.
