A Piece of Paper

*Upon opening the letter you can see numerous amounts of sketchings and words... You decide to read it*

I, Gladius Moonstrike, have something I must tell you all.. Something I must get off of my chest. The monks are dying... Falling apart and there has been nothing for me to do in stopping it. I must say I am fed up with the lower standards in morals the monks have come to in the past few years.. We aren't who we used to be.

The sanctuary is in ruin, filled with clutter and trash and no one seems to care.

The temple itself.. How beautiful it used to be.. The days it was an open area and looked so serine.. Now a place for people to dig holes...

2012-09-03_173427.png

and a place for people to work. It is so disrespectful to the sanctuary you cannot fathom my frustration.

2012-09-03_173439.png

The entrance to the monks rooms used to be a secret entrance where the monks might enter in their own discretion.. It has been cluttered with a gate and leaves.. It is an eye-sore. The least you could have done is make the gate look nice.. Fit the sanctuary at least slightly..

Where beautiful flowing fountains once flowed, people spend time training their war weapons... It is sickening.

Trollface.png

The central platform is the main center for cluttering.. The place once also seeming so beautiful... Now covered in unfitting trees and advertisements. A center for battles and attacks.. Where animals attack each other in a place supposed to be so peaceful..

And where vandalism can spread with such ease... Where no one gives a damn to fix it.

My point is, the sanctuary has gone to the nether and no one gives a damn. The monks aren't who they used to be.. The monks have lost their morals in a quest for vanity.

When I first joined the monks, we were a fellowship.. There was no head monk. In my day, there may have been the dominant monks who took charge in times of trouble or where leadership was needed, but there were never concrete ranks. We were brothers and sisters. When I heard a new head monk came into the picture without anyone choosing for them to be such a role, I was appalled. I didn't even want a head monk.

The head monk is not needed and it is simply a role people desire for power over their brothers and sisters...

The monks used to be brothers and sisters in a quest for peace and healing, yet it has come to my attention that is no longer all of our goals.. We are self-centered beasts.

Despite me having been a monk for decades and one of the eldest monks around, people show so much disrespect I am so very sickened. I have never been so disrespected and ignored. That is why I am contemplating leaving the monks. I am so very sick of this...

OOC:

I've been a monk for a long time and no one even knows my name. The sanctuary has gone into disrepair and the head monks only worry about who's going to succeed them. <_< I'm sorry if I come off insulting to any other monks out there, I've just been so agitated by this whole situation. I'll try to stay around the monks for a little bit (not like anyone cares), but I'll probably be leaving. Sorry, have a good day everyone.

Looking at the paper, Jester scoffs slightly. Pondering in his mind imagining what this man is saying is correct, he can only smirk and think about how long it takes for people to understand what was happening.

"Good luck Monks..." He says in finality, dropping the paper on the ground of the defiled temple and walking off towards the human areas.

((That tree at spawn was a derp by Hael... I cleaned it up pronto. As to the vandalism on the altars, that is in role-play and there's a role-play post about it in this forum <_<

As for no one respecting the monks... eh, we have to live with the poor role-play. I mean, we save their lives every time they die, but Aeriel forbid they show us some respect for it... at least we've finally dealt with the constant murders and kidnappings taking place in the Sanctuary.

The rest of your concerns are completely valid, though

@uracow This is role-play post. All OOC must be bracketed

@Slic3 Jester is intruding into the monk's personal quarters?))

Cyrial stiffens as she reads the note, nodding slowly as each she covers each point. As she finishes the note, she brushes a single tear from one of her eyes. She kneels down, offering a quick prayer to the Triumvirate, before returning to her standing position. She retreats to her room, taking a seat on the bed and scribing her own note in reply to his.

"My brother Gladius,

I do not believe we know each other very well, but I am Cyrial of the Wilven Monks. I thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention; I had grown so used to the men in the temple that I had almost forgotten about them completely. I am unsure of their task, so perhaps we will see to evicting their work from our temple entirely.

We should restore the fountains, replacing the old combat grounds. I have never seen a single man or woman use it in my many years here, and all it does is promote violence within our very Sanctuary.

As to the gate, I will see it torn down immediately. I agree with your thoughts on the gate, and it is not only an eyesore but a giveaway.

I agree that we do not need a leader. Our place as monks is to serve and keep order in the Sanctuary, not to order one another around. Our places and roles are and should be equal. I will attest to that.

I ask that you would not give up hope just yet. You may still help the order. But no matter what your decision, Triumvirate bless you, brother.

~Cyrial

She returns to his room, pinning the note up beneath it before offering a quick prayer to the Triumvirate for Gladius and proceeding on her way.
