Alright, here is my question to the dwarves. Do you want there to be official religious holidays that correspond with IRL holidays. So, IC there would be a holiday that corresponds with say, Halloween. We don't call it that but we only celebrate during Halloween. This would basically just be a way to enjoy the holidays in RP. Each holiday would be accounted to one of the Brathmordakin and would be seen as a religious holiday IC. However, it would basically be just like IRL. So, for Christmas, we would name it something like "Day of Anbella's Gift" or something like that and we would all give presents in-game etc. etc. Leave your comments and please vote in the poll. Thanks!

EDIT: I'll be closing the poll at 12 PM (Noon) EST time on Sunday

EDIT II: Only vote if you are a dwarf!

I also ask that only dwarfs vote in the poll.

Yes. Any non-dwarves that have voted, please remove your vote.

I agree with this fully, however I believe there should be SOME changes. Maybe not all holidays should be celebrated the day of. During Christmas, for example, most people will be on vacation, so perhaps make the celebration a week before/after? Also, some celebrations should be slightly different. Thanksgiving should be made more dwarf-y, for example, and so should easter. A dwarf wouldn't go around chasing a giant bunny and collectin' the colorful eggs it pooped out; He'd shoot it and hold adwarf jolly feast, becoming the talk of the town! Also I think some holidays should be made more festive and some kept respectful, such as veteran's day, D-Day, etc. Anyway, great idea and I'm all for it!

^ Man, not all of us are 'murican. We will likely be doing just international holidays. Anyway, if you wanted to keep Veteran's Day (not that we will be doing it) respectful, I'd be for keeping Christmas more respectful because to me, Christmas is more important.

Oh right, we arent all from the US *facepalms* -_-

I am in favor of making some holidays more 'festive' in the dwarven sense (in other words, with more ale and more brawls) while keeping other holidays respectful, some maybe even somber, though I can't think of any international holidays IRL that are sorrowful off the top of my head. Thanks for the correcting me BTW, I wasnt purposefully trying to exclude non-murr'cans! Although despite the fact it shouldnt be done because it is a holiday only associated with England, a Guy Fawkes day LotC style would be amazing/hilarious.

You're right, only international. However, since I'm American I may forget on some. Right now I'm thinkimg Christmas, Halloween, Easter, New years (maybe), (any other holiday I find is international on Google later  )

I'd rather see that we dedicate certain days during the 12 day IG year to a holiday or feast, atleast 1 or 2 to keep RP going.. These feasts could be one to Yemekre and the other to Dungrimm where we mention the deaths and births of Dwarves and praise said gods for such deeds.

Just throwing out some ideas here,

December 31/ January, Yemmekar's Grace: We celebrate the new year with beer and laughs and possible stories about the year that has past.

Febuary, Clan Wars: We celebrate this month with the annual games that each clan partakes in to enjoy there unity as dwarves.

April, Festivity of Fools: Similar to april fools day, everyone plays pranks on eachother and laugh with eachother about the pranks we pull on others.

October, Brewfest: Similar to Octoberfest, a month of drinking and partying your dwarven hearts out. The city is open to all to so everyone may enjoy drinking the finest dwarven brews. In the middle of the festival center will be The Keg of Gods, the Largest Keg in all of the world.

November, (To be named): During this month we worhip the god for protecting us and watching over us as we live our lives out everyday.

December, Winterfest: As the year ends we relish the soon to be past year and welcome the new one on it's way. To celebrate we give eachother gifts and gather around eachother in thanks, for a wonderful year.

On the Veterans Day issue, it is an "international holiday" per say, but the name's are different with each country. Also, they're different in the slightest way. For instance, Great Britain's is Remembrance Day, Germany's is Volkstrauertag, and many, many other countries celebrate. MOST of those countries are where I've seen people from on here. Yes, yes, this issue has been discussed, but this is my two cents.
