TheRoyalOnion(Aris) 101 Share Posted November 3, 2012 *A frayed edged note lays on the vale notice board, It's a poor excuse at "formal english" but is still readable* Animals for The Vale About a year ago I brought up the topic of having domestic animals here in te vale. Though others were tired of having to go out to hunt and the lack of meat we all agreed we didn't want to use the inhumane pens that the humans use and we didn't want the animals walking around willynilly taking big you know whats on our fron stoops. The idea was set aside because of other matters such as housing. You may have noticed a lack of yours truely meandering around branborough as of late and that's because I've been working on this! I present to you all the Vale pastures and breeding grounds. Far enough not to be seen from the vale but still only a small paddle boat ride away our new pasture is a paradise for any animal. It includes.... A milk barn for our cows and goats A chicken coop for our hens to lay eggs And plenty of mud and shade trees for our animals on a hot day On a side note there's also a quarry I've dug out in my spare time so for any of my fellow miners it might suit your fancy *Cough* Richard *Cough* I need your help! There's still a lot of work to be done. We need fields to keep our animals fed and a cottage for any halfling farmers who might be interested in helping. I'm no builder or farmer and it took me a bugger of a time just getting those two sheds up and the animals into the pastures. If anyone has experience building or farming on a large scale and would like to help ye can leave a name down below and I'll get you some directions. Likewise if anyone thinks they'd be a good full time rancher you can do the same. I ask if you do want these jobs please be respectful to the animals. After all if we wanted to be like the humans we'd just cage them up and slaughter them. Here's the ridge I thought would be a good place to build a cottage And here's the field behind it, might be a good place to till some fields So my fellow halflings make sure your bellies are empty and your mouths hungry because juicy tender meats will be flowing your way soon enough~Aris Snowbird
Pum! 106 Share Posted November 3, 2012 Midney walks by this and uses what she has of reading skills to read it. She skips back to the burrow she lives in, gets a scrap of paper and a quill, and jots down in her barely intelligible handwriting: Well, I like animals. I could watch them and feed them! I can't build nothing, though. She thinks for a moment, and also adds: And will ya have any doggies? ~Midney
