Wretched 2075 Share Posted November 20, 2012 A scream of pure agony echoes throughout the cloud forest, the sickly sound being carried away by the gentle evening breeze. A flock of crows squawk wildly in fright, clustering together as they rise into the sky in a plume of black, feathery wings. And then, nothing... No more noise echoes through the forest, no creatures stir and no screams do sound. Nothing but the faint rustling of the leaves and whistling of the eerie wind. The silence was torture to Knox... It felt as if the very trees were watching his every footstep as he strode his way down the path, his eyes darting madly from left to right, focusing on nothing in particular as he slips the bloodstained knife neatly away back into his jacket. His bony fingers began to twitch as he held them loosely down at his sides, this silence of the forest was driving him crazy.... Everything about it just felt so wrong... After so much blood, so much pain, so much screaming and so much... pleasure... Why did the forest choose to torment him for it? Without warning, Knox slammed his foot hard into the gravel path, twirling his entire body round in one long gracefully movement to face back at the bloody scene he had created previously. He parted his pale, dry lips to release a psychotic scream of both anger and confusion back to the horrific sight back down the path. This scream slowly began to lower in tone, before it had transformed completely into more of a laughter, a muffled, high-pitched laughter. There was no worry, he had done well today. There would be time enough to worry in the dark days to come, but now was a time for 'celebration'. Knox twitched one side of his cracked lips upwards to spread a sadistic smirk across his face, his eyes growing wide with delight as he observed the mess from afar. Nodding once in joyful satisfaction, he twirled himself round in much the same manner as before, and continued his merry stride down the path, leading as far away from the cloud temple as possible. Plucking a small rose from the ground without slowing his merry pace, whispering something to the flower as he began to pluck away it's beautiful little petals, leaving nothing but the thorny stem behind. "A city, drenched in the blood of it's sins. Masked by a blanket of sweet-smelling roses..." To any unlucky enough to walk to the Arethor carriage by the cloud temple, they may notice a most horrific sight pinned to a nearby tree. There lay a girl's body, drenched head to toe in a layer of bright, fresh blood. The body seems to be suspended in the air against the tree, with a massive iron nail sticking through the poor girl's throat in order to keep it there. One may notice that the girl's eyes have both been brutally removed. From a distance, it wouldn't prove challenging to notice the variety of cuts and bruises the riddle that girl's body, clearly she had gone through vast amounts of pain to reach this state. Upon closer inspection, one might notice that all the fingers on both of her hands have been torn from her palm, leaving nothing left but a pathetic looking fleshy stubble. The girl also appears to be wearing an odd looking necklace... It would seem to be a long piece of string with all her fingers attached to it, and when examining even further, you may notice that all the fingernails on these fingers have been removed. Everything about this girl reeks of death, and even through it's vast array of wounds, it is clearly a human, no older than a teenager. The only evidence of who might of done this would be the letter 'K' carved deeply into the girl's forehead. Her lower jaw hangs loosely down as the pained expressions remain plastered to her face, long after death. And so the silence continued. The only sound now, is the sickly dripping of blood from the girl's corpse, and a very faint screeching laughter fading away in the distance.
