everblue2er101 906 Share Posted November 28, 2012 I haven't had any issues, but I can see where the complaints are coming from. Is the lore dodgy and hurriedly put together? Sort of. But given the meager amount of time available, I find it to be a reasonable solution. Are people post-Aegis getting jabbed? No, make a temporary character. I've been playing the uncle of my current character, who's a mute and archer. It's been quite unique. The regions are screwy? Improved after getting feedback. So, considering it's a temporary map that isn't meant to be occupied for long, I think it's just dandy.
Wavejammers 328 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I hate that no matter where and how much you look, you can't find any ores = No buckets = No farms = No food = Starvation = Angry people = No RP = Random PVP = Ragequits = Complains = Angry GM's. Birdwhisperer 1174 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Yes, the mobs are a problem. Because of the knockout plugin skeletons won't actually kill you, and I was cornered by three of them and repeatedly 'knocked out' and revived and knocked out again. They were all in water so they didn't burn, and I couldn't use my soulstone because I was being shot at. I was literally frozen there unable to do anything for probably five minutes until someone came by and killed them.. I understand there probably isn't much to be done about this, but that's my only complaint. Everything else has been great! You guys have been doing a great job, and though it would've been nice to play my character, it's been rather interesting RPing as her mother. So, thanks to everyone who's been working hard on this! THUNDER37 162 Share Posted November 29, 2012 It might be nice if a small public farm with melons inside was placed near spawn. As in Azulon there was a farm just down the green road which was open to everyone, which may help in this circumstance to allow people to gather a little food before venturing off :) If this has been done already, then just ignore me, havn't been on the server at all and am simply working from what I've seen on this thread. Merkaken 516 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Hmm... Personally, Mau5, I think Creepers need to either be taken away of their explosion, or taken away completely. That's really the only mob I have a problem with. Not to mention I don't fully understand why they're in the server at all... It doesn't male sense RP wise. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying "Blah, why are you sucking so hard at mob control?!" The problem is that it's so easy to use creepers to grief towns, people, players, farms, etc. with their land destroying explosion. Not to mention, i'm pretty sure they piss off a lot of players OOCly. I've seen the little hamlet by the spawn zone get blown up dozens of times over, and i'm pretty sure people are starting to get pissed because they have to re-gather supplies... Re-build... re-gather... Yadda yadda yadda... As far as other mobs go, PLEASE don't change a thing other than making them do somewhat less damage. We crashed on an uninhabited island, and the races must SURVIVE this new land. The mobs constantly raiding these small, roughly build settlements is fantastic for RP, because if this were real life, and we crashed in the middle of no-where, the mobs would instantly try to raid our pathetic asses ;) While dying constantly can annoying sometimes, I find it to be AMAZING for roleplay. Queen of Aegis 174 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I hate that no matter where and how much you look, you can't find any ores = No buckets = No farms = No food = Starvation = Angry people = No RP = Random PVP = Ragequits = Complains = Angry GM's. You could just farm at the sea..., just put some dirt there and BAM! a farm. so then it would be:farms=food=No starvation= Happy people= RP= no random PVP= Staying online= positive feedback= happy GM's:Dplus the power of teamwork and staying with other people is a good solution for survival
WickedRN 60 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Considering both of my characters have not been born yet I'm going to have to say no, I do not like this temp map. I really love my characters and I am now forced to play a random one because of the time this takes place. I would have liked to see RP around everyone getting in ships and leaving, then crashing on an island or something like that and having to work together to build a few ships to continue on. That said, I would still like to thank the staff for doing their best to get some RP up and running despite recent unfortunate events. You just can't please everybody, but thank you for at least trying.
Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted November 29, 2012 The only complaint I have for this is to get rid of those damn creepers. Other than that, the map is fine.
Nefarious Aus Shitpost 891 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Guys, the creepers are fine - any damage they do is auto-repaired.
Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Guys, the creepers are fine - any damage they do is auto-repaired. The damage they do to players and their animals is irreparable. I lost my wolf to a creeper last night because someone was idiotic enough to try to kill a creeper right next to it. Man did I rage.
The Victor Blair Project 36 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I do enjoy the map's concept. I enjoy playing as my character's father as I wasn't here in Aegis. It's a very cool idea and it has been fun so far. My main complaints come from the islands. As they are just that. everything is so seperated it's a bit confusing but I'm sure the longer we play on the map the more I'll figure it out. My other complaint is the ammount of lag. I lagged out twice last to the point of unplayability. Now this could just be my PC but that has never happend to me in Asulon. I do enjoy the map and I would like to thank everybody who put all the hard work into getting it up.
TMGavLan 92 Share Posted November 29, 2012 If a GM feels that the player is wrong or if their reasons are unjustified, are the GMs not allowed to give their side on the matters? The name of the forum is "Your View" and the caption is "Player feedback on the game..." With that being said, players expect to come here and voice their opinion without consequence. On the contrary, in agreement with Coach Dopest, they are being scolded on this particular thread. If there is a post asking for the player's opinions, you cannot expect everyone to be happy with what they got or grateful for what they got. Opinions vary and that should be respected. A GM thinking a player is wrong cannot be true; as opinions cannot be wrong. There are facts and opinions. This thread is based on opinions. We all have different opinions, some voice them different to others. It seems even you agree with me. Debates are to call out others' opinions. This is more like a seminar; a time to open your mind to new ideas - not to close it. This is my opinion.
Juvens 199 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Funny what big discussion came out of my point. I never said it's ugly...the islands and stuff are really nice but just the fact that I'm mining with half a heart (and yeah I DO have a farm) is pretty stupid. There are a few animals...but a) it's a single one B) theres a bunch of people trying to kill it or c) it's being camped by a creeper/skelly. So yeah Everything is cool and stuff. Btw: I dislike the fact of not mining under y:28...I know why you did that but I really dislike it anyways. And as stated before: Better this than nothing Oh and another thing: I don't like everything being prebuilt in lotc 3.0...it does lower the fun alot. Would be way more enjoyable if the people would organize themself instead of having everything preset. Chaos makes the world interesting. I prefer taking a look at a painting then one of those barcodes at the supermarket. Cheers
Merkaken 516 Share Posted November 29, 2012 The thing Liri was saying is (Correct me if I am wrong Liri) it IS "Your view", but the way it was said did come off as "This place sucks". I doubt this was intended, but still.
lugarthecougar 57 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I don't mind it, it was nice to brush up and update my Dark Elf that I haven't played since lie.. year 30 or Asulon! I've had some good fun so far making a camp with some buddies and talking about Aegis and these new lands.
