zuluman 79 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Wouldn't it be stupid to override history due to the new guy Gulroid? ^Unless the old clan has few members or no members at all...

Charles_Grimlie 1072 Author Share Posted December 5, 2012 We'll most likely gather together and discuss whilst writing a full doc of the creation of the clans, and then create branches unique to the clans where they can go into detail and explain modern lore.. During this time there may be significant changes such as which clans we'll keep and which ones shall be disposed of.. Also we should discuss how each of our clans will be unique and what a Dwarf from said clan would look like, I believe late Friday would be best 'round 5:00pm - 6:00pm but it may pose problems for European players so we could discuss on Saturday after the Legion practice.

Supertimmy4ever 19 Share Posted December 6, 2012 ((i would be happy if we could discuss this matter on saturday at an accepteble time for me and some other european players. and also, if all the clan leaders could make a basic version of the lore and how they came to be it would be alot easier to change it. like: the city's they came from, the first person with the name, if it was made in Aegis or Asulon and etc.)) ((ps: do i need to change my family tree after this? i want to work on it again with help the help from some clan leaders and higher up dwarves(most of the old lads).)) We'll definitly need to re work the entire family tree whilst we do the lore.. Hopefully include every Dwarf we can think of save for those who do not belong to a actual clan. In the future every Dwarf on the server should be listed as there should be a increase in clan subscriptions. Also regarding clan roles: Ironguts: Miners (Enjoy feasting) - Mages? Grandaxes: ? Goldhands: Merchants Irehearts/Frostbeards: Warriors/Soldiers Starbreakers: Blacksmiths/Runesmiths
Supertimmy4ever 19 Share Posted December 6, 2012 Also regarding clan roles: Ironguts: Miners (Enjoy feasting) - Mages? Grandaxes: ? Goldhands: Merchants Irehearts/Frostbeards: Warriors/Soldiers Starbreakers: Blacksmiths/Runesmiths i understand with the tree and i will help with it. but we shouldn't put dwarven clans in one spot, like warriors and mages and stuff. every member of a clan does someting else, we shouldnt put them in boxes. i get that most clans have a history of mages, blacksmiths etc, but there are blacksmiths in every clan. every clan should have thing in specific, and after that you can just go into a guild or something. In my characters personal lore he was taken away and learned magic instead of merchantry (Granted his memory was taken away) Should I have to drop the profession I am working towards because Goldhands are supposed to be merchants first? No. Will I try and help run Goldhand shops in my free time? Most likely.

Actually currently you shouldn't be capable of doing magic, even though I am sure you've done it for a very long time but Ironguts are the only Dwarves with magical properties unless you where taken from the Ironguts as a child perhaps? Serf 647 Share Posted December 6, 2012 What physically stops a Dwarf from learning magic though? All because their clan isn't specified with magic can't physically stop them from studying it.
Hiebe 2493 Share Posted December 6, 2012 Lore wise dwarves can't but the ascended mother of te ironguts unlocked it. Rply dwarves are very resistant to magic.
Dun_Irongut 104 Share Posted December 6, 2012 Perhaps we should focus on doing this in RP. History is often updated and errors removed. The creation of a hall of records that is grand and maintained would make sense in Dwarven culture and be the perfect place for clans to submit and compile information that will be written down in the records hall, to be used freely, as well as backed up on a Google Doc or the Wiki?
Arkenos Goldhand (Central) 17 Share Posted December 6, 2012 dwarves are very resistant to magic. Resistant, but that does not mean impossible :) (Even re-learning the magic I was taught will take a LOT longer than usual, as I said on my app I am wiling to spend a whole year to even half finish) Edit: just pieced together you're name, hi Hiebie :) The creation of a hall of records that is grand and maintained would make sense in Dwarven culture and be the perfect place for clans to submit and compile information that will be written down in the records hall, to be used freely, as well as backed up on a Google Doc or the Wiki? Goldhands: Merchants Irehearts/Frostbeards: Warriors/Soldiers Starbreakers: Blacksmiths/Runesmiths Grandaxes are mostly Warriors/Labourers by lore. Though I believe it's fair to say a clan should lean towards a specific profession, I don't believe we should be too restrictive or forceful, particularly for those who have had characters for a long time.
