The Deceptions of Idriel Nightscar

Idriel Galleon. The Blind One. The Red Lady. The Birdkeeper. The ***** that killed a third of House Tarus’ finest in one night, only to have them revived by Monks.

All of these names adopted by the villainous, vicious and deceptive Queen of Disguise and Sabotage, Idriellian Volysii Galleon, or her personally prefered name of “The Night”. She was, or should I say is a corrupting, powerful, and heartless *****. She slaughtered many in her rise to absolute ascendancy. Which in it’s own rite actually refers directly to her ancestry. Ellser Galleon, Ascended Acolyte, and once a good man she thinks. He was the Scar of The Night, to her, her followers, and her current beauty. If it wasn’t for him, she would be nothing but a husk upon a dry lake, boring and mournful. But that is exactly what he made her anyway...

In the darkness of Aegis’ final hour. She was blindfolded, and told that the light will always be her guide, as it will save her from capture, from notice and from harm. To her? This was foolery that her Father, Ellser, put in place. But not then she didn’t. At the time of it, she was young, immature, and also blind to what he seemed to be doing. Stopping their interaction -- neglecting her for the rest of her days as a normal citizen of Asulon, in which she travelled blind and unsteady to.

This was the first deception. Eaodan, the soon to be Lord of the Ascellan site, was convinced into becoming Idriel’s guide to the new world. He had a ship, and better yet - a sword. Idriel thought this was monstrous at the time, that it was foul even at the sight of it. But Eaodan just told her to relax, and that they could both work something out to benefit them both.

Idriel then adopted the main aspect of her deception. It wasn’t much, but she poured into Eaodan her great lie.. “I will make you an offer, that will benefit both you and I, and the night sky.” … If it hadn’t have rhymed so perfectly, she would never pull off the charm that it took to snare this innocent man of thirty. He was enticed straight from the beginning.

As they arrived in Asulon, Eaodan made sure to meet up with a gentleman similar to Idriel (abandoned, neglected and now homeless). Along came one of them; Victor Von Roze. A gentleman of Roseus Aquilia, or at least he used to be. Victor was neglected to the point of absolute aggrivation by his father, Brayden Roze. Eaodan made a joined deal that Victor would make a Town, to then become a City. And would hand himself into Godfrey. This was the risk. Victor would easily have said no if there wasn’t hoards of Minas, and revenge waiting for him. Eaodan promised both.

So Victor was making Minathael, Eaodan was overseeing from afar, and Idriel was plotting and studying. But.. something changed in her one night. Darkness crept into her blindfold, into her eyes and into her mind. Cataris, a Lich, was near. He didn’t need to interact with her for her to notice his presence. As he was talking to some ‘foolish mortals’ (as he called them), Idriel wandered near. She wasn’t too far away until he forced her to remove her blindfold. And of course, there they were; Idriel’s red as fireheart and bright as firetip, her eyes. Idriel was defeated instantly in combat, the Lich couldn’t have put less effort into the fight. She fled, and in the lake nearby, meditated on her reflection. It took a great deal to overcome this, she went to the brink of insanity and back just to make sense of it all. Her emotions were flying, and her body wasn’t. But then came back Eaodan. He told Idriel that it was done, their deal was struck from his list and he claimed the remains of Minathael (since Victor was killed and it’s citizens had left). Little did Eaodan know, Idriel was plotting straight from her insanity to conspire against him, kill him and then her Father, Ellser.

It half worked. Eaodan was dead in the center of Minathael, it’s houses burned whilst she performed rituals in the gaze of her newly adopted Gods. She had truly claimed her titles now. But this was only the first lie she took breath of.

The next, Idriel forced out of Dante, her Unlce (Ellser’s Brother). Asking for “Fire magic”, was her next. This was her plot for exerting her anger somewhere. She had to afterall..

Dante wasn’t killed. Barely wounded. But lashed down the mountains of Aquilia to suffer to agony of the fall. Idriel didn’t care or even wait to see his reaction, only to hope that this would draw out her father. It kind of did. She started seeing him around more and more. But she was lonely. Lost and mad.

In spite of her anger, she instantly joined a rebellion to Oren. This was not as spontaneous as it seems, as she did it to pleasure her anger’s light side. To see death, lies and deceptive technique happen in front of her, rather than committing it. She was determined to learn how to slaughter her Father, and grasp her revenge once more. So she employed the skills of an eleven year old Half elf, half Human child, son of Haelphon the Elf, to revolt. This seems peculiar, even for Idriel; but it leads somewhere, and to her third lie.

Idriel was chased from the prison, Fichlock after being hunted down by Amfionas, a Tarus Captain. This is where she gained another title, and made another lie.

She slaughtered Amfionas, but made the child strike the killing blow. And framed the child later on. This made the rebellion cease, and the child to be killed.

Haelphon, Brother in Law to Ellser, was now weakened in resolve. His best Captain, his own son, dead.

Idriel made an error, it seemed though. To the high elven city she roared her black mare. The High Elves thought of her as one of their own, and allowed her entry. Her next lie, was the one to shape her life, and thirteen others’ lives as well.

She died.

Pyromancers of Lysistrata had killed her.

Little Idriel, so good at lies. So pleasured by their existence. How could she resist the biggest lie of them all?
