The Journey of Three

After acquiring the ship from their fellow kin, on the island of Elysium. Hiebe Irongut set course for the continent that he sent Omithiel on, for he worried if he succeeded or not. Kilgrim Irongut and Gorum FrostBeard accompanied him on this journey. They were good friends of Omithiel and Ohgren, and they worried for all the dwarves they sent on this mission. The three on the exact same ship that Omithiel had use, were now far from the island of Elysium and in the mighty sea. The three shared stories, drank ale, and talked about current news of the dwarves, to pass the monotony of traveling across the sea. Though most of the time they would be deep in thought, and would smoke a pipe as they peered out into the ocean. One particular night, where the winds were calm and the starlight twinkled. The moon gleamed over the endless sea, and the waters were calm. Gorum was sitting atop the shell while peering out, and he watched the calm waters in deep thought. Until suddenly he noticed something glowing in the water, of course after a few times. He watched it for a moment before calling to Hiebe and Kilgrim. After they arrived, all three stood atop the shell and Gorum pointed towards the phenomenon. They wondered what it was as it began to make strange echoing noises. It continued to glow and it surfaced for a bit, as it blew water into the air. The three dwarves were cautious but at the same time amazed by this creature. The creature then began to enter back into the sea, but before it did, its tail smacked the water before going into the deep dark sea.

The next morning wind picked up and the ship was reaching towards the continent as it can be seen from the ship. Though as they arrived they have noticed how cold it was, but something was strange there was a foul odor in the air. Hiebe was uncertain what this was and went atop the shell to check the surroundings. He can see the mountain peaks in the distance, and he looked in the far distance of the ocean, but saw nothing. He then heard a sound as if something hit a wall. He stepped over by the railing on the edge of the shell and saw it. There lying motionless were dead corpses. His eyes widened and called upon his two companions, to see this tragedy. They arrived and in grief of the sight, it was dead dwarves floating in the water with debris from the ships that Hiebe sent. After seeing this, they were uncertain if there were survivors for the amount of bodies that were found was a small amount. The three worried even more as they approached the shore.

That afternoon as they entered the shore they saw a wrecked ship lying by the shore, and they saw a pillar of rubble with the sash of the nation. The three were relieved that there were survivors, but they grieved for those that died and said their prayers. Upon arriving they searched for any signs of their kin, and paced themselves as they went up hills, passing rivers and trudging through snow. They searched endlessly not caring that they were surrounded by a beautiful valley. As dusk was nearing to an end, and as they panted from all the running, Kilgrim noticed an orange glow behind the leaves of a tree, atop the steep hill. They climbed over the hill and pass through the trees and saw on the face of the large mountain, a large gate with carvings of dwarven craftsmanship.

Hiebe Irongut walks through the grand door an a smile crosses his face. Feeling the warmth of the mountain he takes off his cloak and looks around the small courtyard. A another smaller door with a gate is in front of him, he sees a guard and he calls out

"Oi in da name of Yemaker whu is in da gate'ouse."

The Guard sees the three figures from the gatehouse, his eyes widened as he rubbed his eyes twice believing that its an illusion. He sees the three figures and notices them quite well. It was their king, the High Ambassador, and of course the High Rememberance. He stutters as he responds.

"I-I-Is t'at ye King 'iebe?" responding with a ridiculous question when he clearly sees them.

*As they approached the tavern all the dwarves who were covered in soot, and rubble from working stop their usual conversations, as they saw Hiebe and the two others enter the Tavern. There was a silence in the Tavern and the Brewer watched them and stopped cleaning a mug with his cloth. The brewer poured ale in three mugs and settle them on the stone counter looking at the tree as they grabbed the mugs sitting by one of the stone tables.*

Gorum stands at the gate for several moments, admiring the architecture, reminiscing about the days he once built alongside the legendary Architect.

" This be amazin'... "

Gorum continues to walk into the city, listening to Hiebes conversation with the guard as they arrive in the tavern.

" A mug ov ale fer me! Oh, an' ah need ye tu take me tu Omithiel when yer done. "

He grabs his ale, drinking it as he waits for the Guards response. The odd silence fills the tavern, but he shrugs it off thinking it is the silence of a inhabited city.

*The guard pacing himself around the city which is full of scaffolding, he looks around from hall to hall, asking the workers around the city for Omithiel. After confirming where he is, he finds Omithiel at the first hall that is to the right.*

"Oi! Omithiel t'ere are kin 'ere to see ye! It be 'iebe, Gorum, 'nd Kilgrim!" He said as he looked at Omithiel from his back.

*Omithiel in deep thought looking at the hole that leads down a staircase. He stands there for a moment before turning around from what he just heard from the guard.*

"W'at! 'iebe 'nd t'e ot'ers?! Aye t'ank ye fer t'e news!" he responds as he walks towards the tavern.

*As he walks towards the three. He wonders why there isn't more with them, but at the same time he is glad to see familiar faces.*

"'ail lads it 'as been a long while!" he says as his cheeks raise a bit, grinning under his beard.

*He looks at them with his left eye, his face scarred, and his right eye gone. He looks at them as they saw him and they respond...*
