Psyike 0 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Hello! This is an introduction of sorts, but I apologize if there is a more appropriate forum to post this inquiry. To make a long story short, I absolutely love to RP (have played/DMed on a Neverwinter Nights D&D RP server on and off for ~10 years), but I have almost zero experience with Minecraft. While the lore and RP here very much interest me, I found playing the Minecraft demo to be fairly boring and not exactly my thing. So I guess my question is, would somebody that doesn't particularly enjoy Minecraft, enjoy Lord of the Craft nonetheless? I appreciate any thoughts. Cheers. :)
Peter Chivay 2494 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I would certainly think so. Much of this server is RP and the true scale of it i what makes it extremely fun. Whether you aren't a fan of Minecraft or not, I would certainly think you would enjoy LoTC. (So long as you're in it for the RP.)
Quavinir_Twiceborn 1050 Share Posted December 31, 2012 In my opinion, yes. this server allows a customizeable visual aid and interface to help your RPing and imaginiation to bloom with others.
Amorphbutt 199 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I would say yes, it's a good server and kind community for the most part. Except for those who make drama.
PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Welcome! Fear not, Minecraft is merely the platform on which we roleplay. Some use paper and pencil, others use chatrooms - we use a computer game. Knowledge of the basics of Minecraft, such as food, hunger, time of breathing underwater, several crafting recipes and so on is all you really need. You can find all of that information here on the Minecraft Wiki. We use this platform, this computer game so that we can visualize the roleplay. Player skins show how characters look, and the world is there in the form of blocks.
Roxforbraynz 251 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I would say so. Minecraft is simply the platform for the roleplay. I'd say if you enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, you'll enjoy Lord of the Craft. LaCabra (Soda) 1519 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Minecraft is basically a visual aid for the roleplay we have. You'd fit right in, I think, if you could get use to the blockiness of it all! :)
Jistuma 1996 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I have seen people that don't enjoy MC to enjoy a lot the rp. They still use part of the mechanincs of MC, but those can be easily used to with little time. Things like using MC swords to represent well... swords... and food to keep alive, yet all these things can be gotten in rp, by buying and selling, or being given to. Roderick Greymane / Vegas 219 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Lord of the Craft is one of the best Minecraft Role-play Servers out there, we offer a great community of both staff and players who work very hard as a team to make the server enjoyable for all who decide to make it their home, if you are looking for an experience and the ability to easily make some new friends, then Psyike, let me be the one of the many to welcome you to our server because you have just found the place you have been looking for! ;) WELCOME TO LOTC FRESHBLOOD! :P
Kaiser 2347 Share Posted December 31, 2012 LOTC isn't Minecraft Yes, it holds within minecraft, but lets be honest here, its not REGULAR minecraft. You'll love it, and don't worry, the actually zing of minecraft come to you later on, after an hour or two.
º Gamer9726 º 6 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I think that you'll like this server regardless of your view on minecraft because the server is mostly roleplay. As many have said before, minecraft is just the platform on which we RP, so you should be just fine. Welcome :) Hopefully our characters will meet. Aiden 173 Share Posted December 31, 2012 I would defiantly say so! PvP is only used during wars/large fights or if both parties consent (so most fights except wars are all RPed out) and other than building (which if you move into a nation you won't even have to do) everything else is RP. I would recommend getting a good texture pack (Ornate 5, DokuCraft, JohnSmith) to make it seem more medieval and RP-like. Good luck with your app :)
