Sentinels Update

Orym stands before all current sentinels in an area where they cannot be eavesdropped on. He coughs to quiet them down before speaking.

 

"Now, as you all might of noticed, Silir, the former Mamerache'sair, yes I said former let me finish, has not been around as of late. This is because he has resigned from his position. I was appointed High Commander in his place by High Prince Kolyat."

 

Orym pauses and waits for the whispers of the crowd to die down.

 

"As some of you know, each High Commander usually changes one thing or another when they get appointed to their position, and I will be no different.

 

There will be quite a few changes to the sentinels, I will start with the ranks. High Commander, Commander, Sentinel, Warden, Scout, and Initiate are what the ranks will be called. The High Commander does the same as the Mamerache'sair did, the Commander is the 'second in commander' and does a job similar to the high commander, except he still serves under the High commander. Sentinel will do the same as Merache'sair, they are to be in charge of a city or district and control the sentinels that guard said district or city. Wardens will more or less be an assistant to the Sentinel, and will also train scouts, and initiates below them so that they can be more efficient and skillful guards. Wardens will also create patrol routes for scouts and initiates and might also be allowed to control a group of scouts and initiates in battle if their commanding sentinel deems them worthy of doing so. Scouts will be the main bulk of the sentinels. They will be paired up with an initiate who will watch the scout and learn how to be a better guard when the wardens aren't training them and so that each scout has an initiate (or multiple initiates) to assist them in making arrests. Scouts are to follow the patrol routes given to them and they are to report their findings to their warden. Initiates are more or less a training and probationary rank. They are to follow their assigned scout to learn how to be a proper sentinel as well as assist said scout when they make arrests. Initiates are also not permitted to make arrests, and they are to attend meetings and trainings.

 

Also, as a side note, congratulations to Beren! He is now the commander. We will choose those who are to be the rank of sentinel later on, probably in the new land."

 

Orym takes a deep breath before continuing. 

 

"I'm also going to bring back regular trainings and meetings. These dates will be discussed later on, but there will be one meeting per mali week as well as two trainings per mali week."

 

Orym pauses and thinks for a moment before saying, 

 

"I hope to return to the old ways of the sentinels, back in Asulon where we were a strong force that was feared by other nations. However, I don't want you to take that statement the wrong way, as we still want to avoid war and conflict as much as we can, so try to be peaceful and nice to the citizens of malinor while doing your job. Once we get to the new land, I hope to 'hit the ground running' so to speak, and lead the sentinels to be the best that they have been yet!"

 

Orym pauses as the crowd of sentinels cheers. He speaks after it all dies down.

 

"I would like if everyone were to fill out one of these.."

 

Orym hands out small pieces of parchment to each of the sentinels.
