Arteh 1837 Author Share Posted February 11, 2013 From my brief stint as an Orc in Aegis, I can say that what struck me was the system of honour and pride the Orcs had. In comparison, the Orcs I see today tend to be more disposed to looking for trouble with other nations and acting exclusively as antagonists at any major event. I'll admit that I have very little knowledge of internal Orcish RP, but perhaps promoting the rich culture of the Orcs shown in Aegis and the original Orcish lore could help. For example, perhaps a 'conservative' movement within Orcish politics could help, with an Orc leader calling for a return to traditional ways of honour and denouncement of outward banditry and whitewash ways. In short, more focus on the savage-yet-beautiful culture of the Orcs and less focus on individual antagonism. We have made a reform in our whole political system (See Orc Clan System). As far as the honor and pride thing goes that will be dealt with as that is coming up a lot. Right now we are at War with the Dwarves as they helped when we attacked the Kha which instigated the war however all that is done honorably. The only issue I see with our honor is the banditry that goes on. Thanks for bringing up culture as we have slowly over Asulon deteriorated from our roots. I will work on that. Noted. EDIT: As far as being the antagonist goes that is quite helpful for us as we want us to be a fearful race again. Right now you see Orcs running crazy everywhere around the map. They are a common sight. But in 3.0 we want them to be more discreet and less common to see which would increase fear. We would be morely focused on pillaging & razing towns/settlements in 3.0 to improve our own RP and spread our influence to people as you hear things like 'Did you hear? Orcs burnt down the halfling village!' which new players would get intregued by and it would in some ways improve our own RP and attract players to us. This also lets us get into full swing into our culture as we are like that and we do it as a source of income.
Praetor 1550 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Something I also noticed is that many Orcs seem seriously dim-witted because they laugh at pretty much anything that involves pain for others. (among other things) I'd really like to see some more wise-looking orcs.

(among other things) I'd really like to see some more wise-looking orcs. It mainly depends on your clan. Ugluks will laugh at petty things as they aren't the most... Smartest of Orcs. Gorkils would be more serious and less jokey. This again will tie in with how each character acts.
Mankaar 166 Share Posted February 11, 2013 After playing as an orc for a few weeks its understandable why they are not the best race for players to join... You are often insulted and many are afraid of you even if you are rping a kind orc. My suggestion would be to have more events.. it does not always have to be battles. I agree with hex on the language part. Sometimes when I am speaking to others I even have difficulty reading what I just typed.. Im not saying get rid of the strange language but I think it should be toned down quite allot. Now going over the new role-players thing.. It is very hard to rp an orc... Many new players that were orcs start out speaking normal and have difficulty rp wise when it comes to fitting in. Add that to the fact that the old orc capital city barely had anyone there.. In the end I suggest more rp events and maybe the lowering of the language barrier...

IrishPerson 693 Share Posted February 11, 2013 I would love to see orcs rp the blessing and curse a lot more and better.
Arteh 1837 Author Share Posted February 11, 2013 I would love to see orcs rp the blessing and curse a lot more and better. The blessing is to show honor when there is none and the curse is bloodlust. Bloodlust is RPed a lot but honor is toned down a bit. Noted Honor again!
Watyll 1104 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Follow lore specifications. Honorable, and bloodthirsty. You got one down. And I suggest removing trolly rp.
Arteh 1837 Author Share Posted February 11, 2013 Follow lore specifications. Honorable, and bloodthirsty. You got one down. And I suggest removing trolly rp. Some things the Orcs do RPly such as we lined up outside Malinor in a formation when people suggested to remove our shop was quite trolly. I agree. It was mainly for a laugh though as we were being ignored by a lot of the Elves so we decided to stand their idled in an arrowhead formation for 10 minutes. PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted February 11, 2013 I for one greatly enjoyed the Orc shop in Malinor. Why did people want it removed?
Arteh 1837 Author Share Posted February 11, 2013 I for one greatly enjoyed the Orc shop in Malinor. Why did people want it removed? We were selling Cactus Green to people and they were all shouting at us to remove the shop when we weren't harming any of them.
PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted February 11, 2013 I feel that the War Nation can also benefit from having people other than warriors. This is just my impression that most Orcs are soldiers and nothing else, but if that is not true then ignore this I suppose. That is, small things. Creative professions, Orcified. Such as, an Orc Librarian who will cut off one of your digits for every day a tattered leatherbound book is late.

Foodzgoth - Farmer/Managing all the food - Izagubog Huntzgoth - Managing the hunt/Gathering meat etc - Moksha High-Yazgurten - Builder/Architect - Grool
