Kaiser 2347 Share Posted February 21, 2013 The old Grumpy Tree, which had both annoyed and protected the Halflings of the island, now lays in a chaotic crust of black soot and charcoal. The flames gone now, wicked and red hot, even screaming it seemed, left and only has ambers as a reminder of what it did. Only a bare stump of the great tree is left, the Halfling around at the time, mumble to one another "If only the Pumpkin lord was here..."-"Bili should do something"-"Get water!"-"Tibb is fat" and so on. The once life form was snuffed out in this terrible way, for such kind people. The tree, by all means, is dead. The force inside it that held it's "soul" is gone now, sadly, which had left during the blaze, the remains of the tree are either burnt or laid around the island. In all hope, though, a fruit was dropped. The esteemed Elder Bili was the only Halfling who felt the need to pick up the foodstuff, keeping it for the time... And so ends the tale of the Tree, The Grumpy Tree, if only the Halflings had paid attention to it, while instead they fought and bickered to one another and other races. This show's a mark that Halflings should keep to themselves, and fighting only leads to demise and damage for them...
LaCabra (Soda) 1519 Share Posted February 21, 2013 Bili keeps the fruit in his pocket, and stares at it every once and a while. It resembles a peach, though it is more red in color. One night, before bed, Bili decides to take a bite out of the little fruit. After his teeth sink into its soft outer layer, he realizes that the Grumpy Tree has pulled a final prank! The fruit tastes awful, almost like biting into an uncooked onion. It also, several hours later, gave Bili pains in his stomach that left him in the outhouse for a long while. The bite was not all bad, however, as it revealed a large seed in the middle. As Bili looks at it, his eyes glimmer with hope. Could the Grumpy Tree have passed down its child? Time will tell.
