Arlen's Fall into Darkness (Part 2)

 

 

Arlen hesitates to stand up from behind the rock that he hides behind, thinking to himself that perhaps the zombie just had an idea as to where he was… Arlen thought this for only one second, quickly coming to conclusion that that was a chance he could not afford to take at this point. With the zombie close by, Arlen could hear the sound of running. The zombie was coming towards his rock with full speed. Arlen quickly gets to his feet, jumping over the rock with his sword tightly gripped in his hand. Although Arlen had a good plan at tackling the zombie's speed with his own, Arlen forgot about his broken ribs from the fall into the deep dark cave, and due to this mistake, Arlen falls, just after jumping over the rock, causing the zombie to trip and fall over him. As he falls, Arlen drops his sword, finding the zombie's legs on top of him. Arlen quickly pushes the zombie's legs off of him, and crawls for his sword. As he begins to crawl, the zombie already begins another sprint for him. Finding himself in no position to crawl fast enough to his sword, and not enough strength to catapult the zombie over him, Arlen waits for the monster to get close. The zombie reaches about 2 feet away from Arlen, and at this point, Arlen does the only thing he can do, and that is se all his power to send his foot straight up for the zombie's chin. As his foot goes up, Arlen can feel pain flowing through his body, but tries his best to ignore it.

 

The zombie is sent back to the ground, landing on his back near a ledge. Although Arlen bought time for himself, the zombie quickly sits up, looking straight at Arlen, and screeches at him… As the zombie screeches, Arlen begins to realize that the zombie is already about to get up, and launch another attack. Keeping this in mind, he quickly makes a leap for his sword, landing on his cracked ribs, and making a slight yelp of pain. After grabbing the sword, Arlen turns to face the zombie, which is already on it's feet beginning it's next attack. Arlen holds the sword, ready for anything. As the zombie sprints, Arlen begins remembers how he would always sleep in trees, because of ridiculous situations such as this. Although the image of sleeping in trees at night came to Arlen's mind, it did not last long, for the zombie was already in front of him.

 

Arlen quickly sits up from his laying position, point the sword towards the zombie. As the sword pierces the zombie's chest, the zombie launches over the injured elf. At this point, Arlen feels it best to let go of the sword, rather than be dragged. Due to this decision, Arlen loses his sword as the zombie falls into a hole of darkness… The days of being in the save begin to increase, and Arlen can still not fin the way out, and to make matters worse, he lost the hole from where he came! at this point, Arlen finds that it is necessary to eat the creatures living within the cave, and begins using the rats as food. Although Arlen has found other ways to get food, and survive, little did he ever realize that this is where the nightmare would all begin....
