Past
/ History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

As a child, Hunter grew up in Arathor. His parents were
well-to-do merchants and had little time to spend with him. As such, Hunter
wandered the town for most of every day. Eventually, Hunter wandered in to the
Arathor library. He was fascinated by the wide variety of scrolls, books, and
ancient texts to read. He picked up a book, read it start to finish, and walked
home. The next day, Hunter came back and read for the whole day, getting home
late for supper. And so began Hunter’s love for books.

Over the years, Hunter spent more and more time in the library.
He became friends with the library staff, often chatting with them about
cryptic alchemy scrolls and the newest Elven romance novels. Hunter decided to
start working at the library dawn to dusk at the age of 13. Hunter used this
money to buy books and scrolls, and to train in archery and stealth lessons. At
the age of 18, Hunter rivaled some famous scholars in terms of intelligence. He
could also wield a bow and dagger relatively well. Through well built academic
connections, Hunter was hired to be a librarian at the Arathor library. Hunter
loved working there, and had a great time helping others enjoy the books as
much as he did, along with receiving a hefty salary.

When Hunter was 34, changes of favor within the noble houses
occurred. Hunter was shunted out of the library to open up a spot for an
up-start noble, Lord Hobart of Caberton.  Nowadays, Hunter works as merchant, traveling
from town to town, selling goods for the lowest of prices. Occasionally, Hunter
will accept well-paying mercenary missions that require vast geographic or
topographical knowledge. Hunter has worked very hard, and hopes to reclaim his
job the library once and for all.

Ambitions
for the Future:  Hunter’s main goal
is to whatever it takes to become a librarian again, even if it requires him to
get his hands dirty. On the side, Hunter plans to own a house in the
middle-class district of Arathor, and maybe settle down and have a family of
his own.

Personality:
Hunter is an intellectual, having extensive knowledge on many subjects,
including Elven and Orcish history, metallurgy, alchemy, and geography. Hunter
uses his intellect to talk his way out of dangerous situations, using his
logical thinking to outwit his opponents. Hunter is also very talkative, and
has no problem with lending people a helping hand. Hunters main drawback,
however, is his cautiousness, which often borderlines cowardice. In battle,
Hunter is one of the first to retreat, and usually is found in the rear guard,
hiding behind other soldiers. This cautiousness also makes him less susceptible
to traps, scams, and lies. Overall, Hunter is hardworking and helpful, but will
rarely be found putting himself at even minor risk, though his newfound poverty
has forced him to do just that more and more often these days.

Skills:
Hunter’s time reading has paid off. Hunter is adept at stealth, blacksmithing,
cooking, and farming, and is able to prove his worth at each. Hunter is OK at
fishing, excavation, mining, and archery, but they aren’t his strong suits.
Hunter’s real weakness is his inaptitude at combat. Hunter is dreadful at
swordsmanship, axe mastery, and unarmed combat, and he avoids open combat with
a passion. Hunter is a good administrator, but lacks the physical prowess and
skill a good soldier needs.

Appearance
(this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): It’s too
complicated for a person like me to screenshot a picture and post. Basically, it’s a fair-skinned man with blond
hair and blue eyes. He wears white dress pants and shirt, along with a blue
overcoat. On his head he wears a black cavalry officer’s cap with golden
lacing.

Any
other details you wish to share about your character:None.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be

answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the
event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character
or lore at any point.

1. Whilst in the mighty human

capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his
way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are
guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

As Hunter watched the dark clothed
figure sneak into the palace, he splayed about his mind the outcome of
reporting the stealthy figure. On one hand, if he reported the shadowy figure,
Hunter would save the king, and even become a hero. But a shadowy figure
sneaking into a house of royalty must be a hired assassin! And what if the
assassin escapes? Then, the assassin, the assassin’s friends, and the client
who hired him would be on Hunter’s list of enemies. And then what? Hunter could
find himself held for ransom, or even killed! Hunter knew for sure he couldn’t
hold up against such a dangerous force! But Hunter knew that if he let the
figure inside, the Emperor would be killed, and amongst the ensuing political
turmoil, Hunter would never become a Royal Librarian. And so, Hunter yelled out
“There’s an assassin entering the palace!”. The guards turned their heads and
noticed the small, sneaky figure heading inside. As they drew in towards the
assassin, he diverted his course and headed straight for Hunter. “Hyahh!” the
assassin yelled, and he thrust himself towards Hunter, knocking him to the
ground. The assassin drew his blade, and Hunter grabbed his hands and pushed
back, struggling to win a fight that they both knew Hunter would lose. But just
as Hunter felt the last drop of energy leave his arms, the assassin coughed,
spewing up blood, and slumped over Hunter. As Hunter struggled to get to his
feet, he noticed a guard holding a bloody iron longsword standing over Hunter’s
assailant. A small crowd developed around the small, hooded corpse. And as
Hunter dusted himself off and walked home, he knew he had made the right
decision.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you

come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled
cottage. Outside it stands an unstable
old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily
armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather
armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

As Hunter watched the
old man draw his rusty blade, Hunter knew the man was in trouble. The two
bandits were quite menacing, and they towered over the poor elderly man,
spitting out jeers and insulting his appearance. Hunter snuck around the tree
line, making sure he was out of sight of the two bandits. Surprise was Hunter’s
only real advantage, and he kept that in mind as he slowly circled the bandits.
Hunter got to the point where he was directly behind the bandits, and carefully
drew up behind the closest one. Hunter silently drew his dagger. He carefully
drew the blade up to where the bandit’s neck was left unprotected between the
iron chestplate and leather cap. Hunter quickly slashed his dagger between the
two armor pieces, and the first bandit grabbed his neck, bellowed “Aagh!”,  and spun to the ground, clutching his neck.
The second bandit spun around and faced Hunter, eyes gleaming with bloodlust.
Hunter dropped the dagger and pulled out a stone shortsword. The bandit
responded by unveiling a long, shimmering iron sword from a sheath that hung by
his left thigh. They both walked slowly in a circle, facing each other,
preparing to strike. The two opponents parried and thrust, and they cut, and
they blocked. Beads of sweat were rolling down Hunter’s face as the bandit
leaped forward and thrust with all his might. As Hunter dived out of the way,
he knew his time had come. Hunter sprang up, and came up behind the panting,
sweaty bandit and slammed the pommel of his sword into the back of the man’s
head. As the man slumped to the ground, Hunter helped up the old man and
cleaned up the mess. The man thanked Hunter and went back to his daily life.
And Hunter remembered to be more careful when walking through the woods.

3. You are standing within the

mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind
a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a
variety of

general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything
and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose
prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the
discussion that happens).

As Hunter looked at the merchandise, he saw
trinkets, mob drops, weapons, and much else. But there was one thing that
caught Hunter’s eye: A book of Aengul poetry. Such items were very rare, and
were only found in ancient ruins. Hunter knew that the price of such items was
enormous, so he had to find a way to lower the price. And so, he started a
conversation. “What’s your name?” said Hunter. “Eldrich the Merchant,” the man
said. “Do you know much about the Aenguls and their history?” Hunter asked. “A
matter of fact, I’m fascinated by the Aenguls!” Eldrich replied. “Oh really?
Then you must have read Arthur Kibly’s book about the Ascended, right?”  And so they struck up a conversation, and the
subject eventually turns to poetry. “Do you read Aengul poetry?” Hunter asked.
“Yes, I do!” Eldrich exclaimed. “A matter of fact, I have a book of Aengul
poetry right here!” “And how much would that cost?” Hunter asked innocently.
“About 800 midas, with the current economy,” Eldrich said. Hunter’s heart sank.
He knew there was no way he could pay for the book. But Hunter had an idea. “How
about 550?” Hunter said. “No less than 650” Eldrich retorted. “How about 580?” “No!”
“620 midas?” “I told you before, no less than 650!” Eldrich exclaimed. “Well
how about 500 and an ancient Aengul religious tome? I know you like Aengul
lore!” Hunter said. Eldrich looked beaten. “All right,” he said. “500 and the
tome.” Hunter also bought a furnace along with some cooked fish for 48 midas.
But nothing he bought that day matched the value of the poetry book. Later that
day, Hunter went home. The next day, Hunter read the poetry book front to back.
“Man,” he thought. “That was NOT worth 500 midas!”

Your application has been...

DeniedApplication3V2.png

Need to post on the Minecraft Forums before you can be accepted.

Clarify the Meta-gaming definition, it's sort of correct but not entirely.

The world of Asulon has been abandoned and we're now in Anthos. Please work this into the bio.

Need to provide a skin screenshot. See THIS GUIDE as a reference.

Slight powergaming in the second Open Response Question, defeating the first bandit so easily.

This is a really good first application, especially the ORQs and bio. I definitely think you'll be accepted if you make these minor changes. Coincidentally, my character Kernith Timothee was the Head Librarian of the Arethor Library.

Wait at least 24 hours after this post to reapply. Send me a PM if you have any questions.
