Kaiser 2347 Share Posted March 9, 2013 Yes, but I do aim for it to at least be a challenge, this isn't something that will just go down in one event, this is a proper, old style fantasy dragon. I.e something to be feared, a force of nature (well this case, un-nature). I aim for this to be more of an event of if you encounter this drake with either yourself alone or about 6 other people, you better be ready to run, because Gudour is NOT a SKYRIM dragon, he will not be a push over. If you encounter him, and he is in the air, he, will, kill, you. There wont be any of this sizing up stuff were one warrior takes it on himself, such a person is going to end up as charred beef jerky at least. This is a high fantasy old style dragon, i.e youll have little chance of killing it whilst it is in the air, as should be the case with most dragon like creatures, for that is their domain, their advantage. With the fact that Gudour also has increased durability in his hide as well, arrows are most likely going to bounce off him or do little damage. This is a dragon that would need to be hunted down and faced down in its own lair, where it is robbed of the air. I made this lore partly because it saddens me how drakes and dragons are instead of feared simply thought of as a "ooh, I can make some armour out of him" thing. That should not be the case. They are creatures that should be feared, and this will bring that back. If it is accepted, don't complain about how you didn't win against it in the first second third, maybe fourth event, because quite frankly, lotcers get a lot of their antags pretty easily defeated. This is suppose to drive fear rp, to give something to fear or be fearful. I hope that if this is accepted, whoever plays as him makes sure to not simply go down easily, this is not any simple drake. This is very much a legendary creature. Than by all means, I love the lore and I give it +2! I just don't want it PGey and just being boring, y'know? But yes, love it! Mish_ 101 Share Posted March 9, 2013 +1 I like the idea of like quests being sent out to find him and all dieing and creating some nice times. If it was a skyrim dragon that would stink.

Lord_Sauron_ 43 Share Posted March 24, 2013 A question.... The lightning. Could you dodge it or would you be fried as soon as you saw the first spark? And can it be breathed continuously for a Mech-Godzilla death ray, or a *charge, release, single strike, repeat* scenerio like a bolt rather than a beam? Blundermore 2741 Author Share Posted March 24, 2013 I would assume it could do either or like a dragon would breathe fire. And really, are you faster than light? I mean if you saw the signs and reacted prior then fair enough but actually dodging it after it has been fired would be near impossible. Unless your character happens to keep a faster than light personal drive on their person...

I mean if you saw the signs and reacted prior then fair enough but actually dodging it after it has been fired would be near impossible. Unless your character happens to keep a faster than light personal drive on their person... Just to let you know, lightning doesn't travel at the speed of light. It actually travels at just about half the speed of light, but still, you aren't going to be able to evade such an attack. However, there is a chance to get into cover, as electricity cannot be stored very effectively with modern technology, it is made at power plants and used right away. Any excess is wasted. For Gudour to create a lightning bolt, he would have to charge up an instant before the attack, giving you only a couple short seconds to get the hell out of the way and behind a big rock or something. A normal fire dragon can launch attacks because it is essentially taking a fluid or gas out of a chamber in its body, and then igniting and launching it from its mouth, but moving at a slower speed than lightning. Just letting you know this as It think it should be considered.

Gudour however is a Drake, who acts on the ability of magic, so normal means of dragon fire don't apply properly to him, nor does normal science. As I said in the post prior, you could evade him if you saw the signs of him readying. But as you pointed out, after he fires, if you're out in the open you have little chance. I know that lightning doesn't actually travel at lightspeed, but for the purposes of dramatic effect and easy explaining I used the term to easily convey how fast it is. Using the term "Are you faster than light" seeing how really, in all honesty, it doesn't make much difference anyways. As you still can dodge it if it is already in the air.
