Clan History:

Origin:

The Adunian house McHaryn can be traced back as far as the time of Elendil the

exiled, in the age where the forces of Godwinson were a dire threat. The first known McHaryn was a large man by the name of Konagan McHaryn, famous for his

fiery red hair and bear like strength, it is believed that Konagan McHaryn sailed on the Adunian ship known as salvation. Konagan wed an Adunian woman by the name of Lunaria, and so the McHaryn clan came to existence.

Other Adunian families followed Konagan as he was a capable leader, Konagan

himself followed Elendil the exiled to the Adunian Isles where an Adunian capitol

was created.

Time passed and like all things of the earth Konagan went down to the grave.

His great grandson known as Doogle McHaryn made the decision to lead the

McHaryn clan back to the original home of the Adunians, following the Adunian

lord Bethrol Elendil. Once back on the original continent and finding old

Adunian lands in possession of the kingdom of Oren, Doogle led his clan to the

northern mountainous terrain where they set up a small village and began to

prosper.

Time passed, McHaryn chieftains died and their youngest sons took over, by the

time of Rydel Elendil the Adunian lord at the time, Clarke McHaryn was chieftain of the now

300 strong McHaryn clan. At this time civil war broke out in the Adunian

kingdom and Rydels steward Icarian led the uprising, Lord Rydel called all the

Adunian clans to arms, and like the loyal subjects they were the McHaryn clan

answered the call. So Clarke McHaryn led a force of 120 McHaryn clansmen to

fight in defense of the rightful Adunian lord.

The battle raged on and the McHaryn clan suffered heavy losses in the defence

of their kingdom. By the time the war burned to an end only a score of McHaryn

clansmen had survived. With heavy hearts at the loss of their brethren they

made their way back to the McHaryn settlement, however disaster struck again

when upon arriving at the settlement the clansmen discovered that in their

absence roving deserters of Icarian’s army had taken refuge in the mountainous

terrain, having discovered the small settlement and finding it without warriors

they decided to take advantage, and so it was because of this that the

surviving McHaryn clansmen found their village in ruins with the dead

disrespected and left for the carrion.

In a surge of anger and not heeding their chieftains pleas, many of the McHaryn

warriors swore vengeance and spent the remainder of their lives hunting the

deserters. After the oath of vengeance only  a handful of McHaryns remained in the ruins of

their village, Clarke and his close kin. However there was a small glimpse of

hope in the darkness, a few weeks later while trying to rebuild a small hut for

shelter, a small group of people could be seen making their way up from a neigh

boring valley. The people were later realised to be survivors of the attack and

kin to the survivors, amongst their number were 9  infants (one being Richard, Chief Clarke’s

son) and several mothers and a wet nurse who had taken the children on an

outing when tragedy struck.

Time went on, the survivors passed on and the children grew,of these children  Richard took Desmond (another survivor) to wife and raised his own family, Konagan the second (the son of the chief) and Delina (the daughter of Derik)

married and had two children, Starkë and Jock McHaryn. Who later united the

remaining McHaryns and pledged their allegiance to Lord Artorus Elendil who in

response granted them land and titles in the barony of the Skirling Highlands

north of Winterhall.

However as all things time went on and with the migration to Anthos the

power of the McHaryns in land and titles waned, to this day the McHaryns remain

without land or titles, a former shadow of their previous power. Still in service to the surviving Elendils, pledged until death takes the Elendils away from Anthos.

((Another clan? Eee. We'll have brethren to absorb into Campbell... Also maybe romantic interests, too. Make sure to find female Mcharyns, too!))

((From what I heard, this is mostly an Australian group which I think is a great idea to make a clan due to the different time zones. Gives them someone to rp with when others are not on.

((You're correct mate, in Asulon there was 8 McHaryns and we had around 4 actual citizens, we had just started recruiting when the map was lost))

((Another clan? Eee. We'll have brethren to absorb into Campbell... Also maybe romantic interests, too. Make sure to find female Mcharyns, too!))

((You'll probably find your comment funny in a couple of days, McHaryn's have been around for a bit we just went incognito after the rebellion, also I am afraid not maaaate! All brothers in arms! ;))

((Just to clear some queries up, I have been playing a woman called Bernadette McHaryn. This is so that when I log on I kind actually find people to RP with, whereas with my usual character he has no reason to go to where all the online players are in the AUS peak times. She is about 7' tall, 46 years old and horrendously ugly due to a bit of orc blood in the genealogy. However you want to fit her in to the tree I don't mind. But their family was not rich by any means, if that makes it easier to know.

Also, as yet am unaware of family line, though does know that her last name is McHaryn))

((Don't want to bust your bubble but in order to be a McHaryn you must apply, the very fact that your char is part orc is against McHaryn lore, honour and duty is so extremely beaten in that they rarely even show emotion making them extremely reliable soldiers. Unless a female rMcHaryn was forced by an orc ((Which is against server rules)) then that would never happend, also McHaryns were wiped out in the rebellion, only a handful survived and they are all males. Sorry to have to say this but I don't want an ugly seven foot tall female running around with our name. We are actually nobles of Oren and I have a goal of a specific image that McHaryns are, this character would completely and utterly wreck that image. Once again apologies but your char cannot be a McHaryn))
