Salvus Tax Plan

 

 

*Sheets of papers sit at the front entrance of Kingston, upon reading it there is big bold letters that read ‘The Salvus Tax plan’.  Upon reading into it you read the following.*

 

 

“ In addition guards and servants will be reduced 75minas minas off their tax.  Servants of house Hightower will be reduced 50  minas.  Labour Workers will be reduced 40 minas off of their taxes.  This will be installed in once elven week  and must be paid at that time.  If you are having trouble paying your taxes you are to seek out King James the II for an alternate option to taxes.”  - Signed with the Royal seal.

 

 

Small  houses

100 Mina per Elven week

 

 

Medium houses

 150 Minas Per Elven week

 

 

Large Houses

200 Minas Per Elven week

 

 

Stalls

250 Minas Per Elven week, 400 for foreigners

 

 

Shops

300 Minas per elven week, 450 for Foreigners

 

 

Inns

250 Mina’s per elven week,

 

 

Taverns

400 Minas per elven week, 500 for Foreigners



Taxes are to be collected every Elven week (Saturday). One week of not paying taxes  then following the next week and not paying both taxes, there is a chance of being evicted from residence.

Well these taxes are much too high. Most citizens don't even have the money to pay for this.

Lord Treasurer Arinition Aramore looks over the edict with question

"I think its missing something from the raw-draft... Hmm I suppose King James doesn't want them knowing Draeren's taxes.."

Arinition shrugs it off and walks away

"500 minas for a shop. How much money do they think we make a week?"

*Mandru Scott, though not owning any property in Salvus, shakes his head.*

"As if the Goldman monopoly wasn't bad enough. Now any surviving small businesses will be utterly DECIMATED by these taxes... Everyone should just pay their proportionate share, like 1/10 of what they make, not some outrageous tax that only NOBLES can afford!"

*Mandru shakes his head, still talking to himself.*

"Perhaps the Government will see what I'm talking about when the depression hits..."

*The Doctor walks away.*

Nienna wonders how many other people have realized how easy it would be for two guards living together to never have to pay tax ever again.
