Out-Of-Character Information

Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate.

Minecraft Account Name: Ben127127

How old are you?: 15

Time-Zone: EST

Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

What
previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have only played
one other roleplaying server, but it was very fun, and as soon as that
server went down, I went looking for another RP server.

How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I looked up "Best RP Servers" and it came up.

Link any applications that you have previously made for the server:      http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/88040-ben127127s-third-app/    (This includes link to my 2nd app, which has link to my first, etc.)

Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and
follow it in your biography?: Yes, several times. I have also read
Anthos lore, Malinor lore, and have scanned through Orc, Dwarf, and
Human lore. I will include these all, even if slightly. (Orc, Dwarf, and Human lore isn't included much, but they are included.)

Definitions

In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: When you act like someone or something that your are not. When you play the role of something else.

Meta-gaming:
An IC act that your Character does not know. (Joe tells Bill where a
slave is being kept in OOC, and Bill goes and rescues them in IC.)

Power-emoting:
An act that is OP, or cannot be prevented. Also known as God-Emoting.
Example: John is tied to the ground with 3 bows pointed at him. John
uses his massive strength to tear out of the rope, dodges every arrow
shot at him, then throws knives at each archer, escaping micarously.

In-Character Information:

Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Asul Durzel although everyone called me Durzel.

Current Age: My character is still very young. He is 21.

Sub-race (if any): None

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

I was born in the woods, with two happy parents to look after me. I was born at dawn, and it was very dark. As soon as I was born, however, sun burst through our windows. That is how I got my name, Asul, which means "Sun" in the ancient language. Durzel was the name they were going to call me, because that was my fathers name. So most people would call me Durzel, although my true first name is Asul. We

were rather poor, but we lived in the wilderness, and got our food by

picking apples and fruits off the trees. We never hunted. My mom,

Shalissa, was in love with animals. She would rather die than let me or

my
father lay a hand on an animal. Every morning, me and my father would
go out, deep into the woods, to find the freshest apples. Then we would
eat them. They were always delicous. Because of my diet, I grew to be
very strong. I didn't know it at the time, but this was very important.

Life
continued this way, until I turned 11. When I was 11, me and my father
were off picking apples, when we came across the most amazing this I had
ever seen. Malinor. We had wandered farther off today then usually, and
we had arrived at a huge canopy of trees, houses plopped all over.
Children ran across the streets, chearing and playing tag. A fair
skinned elf appraoched us. “Greatings, travellers!” He bellowed at us
smiling. “Uh-I, Uh, were not travellers, we live near here.” My father
stammered. “Well, welcome all the more!” We smiled, and made some poor
excuse to leave. My father and I chattered about it all the while we
walked home. When we arrived home, I sprinted ahead of him and ripped
open our door. “Mom! Mom!” I bellowed as soon as I got into our house.
“What! What!” She screamed back. Dashing down the stairs. “Is something
broken? Is Someone broken?” I laughed. “Mom, we just found a huge city!
I’m not really sure what it is, but tommorow, you have to come with us
there!” I went to bed that night listening to my parents talk about
Malinor. My father said I had an uncle that lived there.
That seals the deal, I thought. If we had an uncle there, of course we’d go!

When we arrived at Malinor the next day, the same cheerful faces
greeted us. They told us the place was called Lumaelin. We got the
Guards permission to enter, and we entered. My father parted from us and
told us he was going to go find his brother. Me and my mom lingered for
a while, until my mom spotted a huge clearing filled with flowers. She
just ‘had’ to go get some. As soon as she was out of sight, I sprinted
to the barracks. I had seen soldiers fighting there, and I had to know
what they were doing. When I got to the door, a huge man stepped out. He
had a Long Bow slung across his back. I walked right into him. “Woah
there big boy!” laughed the man. “Uh.. hi...” The man looked down to me.
“You lost?” He asked me. “Well, I was just coming to watch the soldiers
practice.” The man smiled, “Im sorry, they’re done practicing for
today. Come tommorow, then you can watch.” I left the barracks feeling
rather dissapointed, but I had something to look forward to tommorow. I
met up with my mom and dad and we shared experiences. My dad said he was
so happy to be reunited with his brother, he was going to go tommorow.
My mom said all she wanted to do, was go wander through those flowers
again. I wanted to return, too. And so it was settled.

The
next day, I watched the soldiers practice. They dueled with wooden
swords day to night. We walked home again, sharing stories. From that
day on, we visited Lumaelin every day. My parents sent me to school
there, but I soon switched into Military School. I observed the Rangers
practice, and learned a thing or two. I learned the big man’s name was
Ranger Quinton. When I turned 13, I asked him to teach me archery. He
agreed to teach me archery, and I was very good at it. Everyday I would
go to him for Marksmanship lessons. And five days of the week I would go
to MIlitary School.When I turned 15, I participated in a huge festival.
Ranger Quinton said it was called the great hunt. Around noon, we set
out to hunt. I brought in 2 rabbit and a deer, and he brought in 2 deer
and 5 rabbit. We gave the food to the cooks and that night we feasted
upon meat, vegitables, and things I cannot even name. But they were
delicous. I told Ranger Quinton I planned to join the HighGuard when I
turned 18. He just smiled. A man gave a speech that I payed no attention
to, and we ate. It was the best dinner I had ever had. I continued
participating in The Great Hunt, and many other festivals as well such
as The Feast Of Spring.

When
I turned 16, Ranger Quinton turned up our training, and we had to
practice against each other, with dulled arrows. He told me this would
get harder as I aged, since I was a meer child at the time. Each day I
went home covered in bruises, were as Ranger Quinton had only a few.
Ranger Quinton taught me about many cultures and laws of Anthos. He
taught me of the first major battle that had happened while I lived in
the woods, the elves had allied with the adunians and the orcs, and they
won, due to the orcs massive battle skills. The Delvers were trying to
change change the leadership of Malinor by force, but they failed that
first battle. The second major battle was Oren and Merceneries Vs Orcs
and the Elves, but even with the orcs by their side, they lost that
battle. The city was razed, but Malinor managed to slowly recover. The
city was pillaged, but the government was not replaced because the
Delvers were no longer involved. Ranger Quinton has continued to teach
me of Malinor’s history, and he has helped me perfect my Marksmanship.
He taught me of the Orcs, how they are all descendants of Krug, and now
thrive upon the reclaimed lands of the War Uzg, he teaches of the
Dwarves, Descendants of Urguan, and the humans, created from earth,
water, and lava mixed from the two caverns of the Temple. He teaches me
of the Elves Curse, and has reccomended I start learning The Ancient
Language, which I shal. And he is still teaching me, in marksmanship,
history, and much, much more.

Ambitions for the Future: I plan to join the HighGuard.

Open-Response-Questions

Each
question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one
paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as
descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any
point.

____

1.
As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering
and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves
are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?

Answer:

I
approach the older elves and shout at them to stop that nonsense. One
of the larger elves turns on me, and laughs. I draw my bow
threateningly. "Lay off this boy. Why don't you pick on someone your own
size?" I see the boy scurrying away, and watching from a safe distance.
Two of the largest elves turn on me, glaring at me with their beady
eyes. "Ha! How about you, bud?" They crack their knuckles. Only then do I
realize they are unarmed and will rely on brute force. Fools, I think
to myself. I sprint towards them, and at the last second dive to my
left. The elf had swung his fist where I was standing, and stumbled. I
am much faster than the rest of them, and I run towards where the boy
was watching. Do to my 18 years in the woods, I am very strong. I pick
up the boy and run off before they can realize what happens. Once i'm
sure we’re safe, I offer to walk with the boy home. He tells me he lives
in Lumaelin. “I live there too! Im the apprentice of a ranger there.”
The boy looks up to me, and I see he is crying. “You’ll be okay. Here,
no one can get you if you have this!” I hand the boy a small knife, but
rather sharp. “Be careful, its very sharp.” I also hand him my leather
knife casing, so it doesn’t cut his leg when he walks. “Thank you.”
Murmers the boy. Suddenly, his face bursts into a puzzled look. “Why
didn’t you just attack those men? They deserved it.” I smile. “Why hurt
them when my goal could be achieved simply by dodging an attack and
picking you up? I hurt their pride pretty bad, and sometimes, that can
be worse.” The boy nods, although I can see he still doesn’t understand. "I don't expect you to need to use that knife. Do what I did just there if you ever are in trouble. There are other ways, mostly easier, and less bloodshed ways, to solve your problems." The boy nods. "Okay." He said blandly. I chuckle silently to myself. "Whats your name?" I ask him. He stares at his feet, not answering. I decide not to push him more, its not my buisness.
When I arrive at the boy’s house, his parents thank me dearly, and yell
at him for having a knife. I immiedatly cut in. “I know the boy was adventuring, mam, and I don’t want him to stop. You learn a lot out there, and the wilderness is so pretty. I gave him that knife so he can keep adventuring and be safe of those big men from now on.” The boy looks to his parents, and I hear him begging to them. Atlast they nod, thank me one last time and shut the door. The door swings back open almost immediatlly. The boy looks me in the eyes. He has light blue eyes. “My name is Charlie.” then he closes the door and all is silent. I stand there for a moment, and then
walk to my house high in the treetops of Lumaelin.

2.
Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old
man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the
ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold
coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the
pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:
The old man hits the ground with a thud. I dash over to the man, and
help him up. "Thank.. thank you,sir..." Murmers the dreary old man. I
realize he's hurt. I hand him the cain, and return his pouch of money. I
tear off some cloth from my shirt, and use it to repair the coin sack. I
hear the man muttering to himself. I smile at the man, pretending not
to hear. I offer to walk him home, but he waves his hand saying, “I can
care for myself, I just slipped a bit, thats all.” I ask the man if he
is sure, and he replies rather sternly, "Yes. I am sure." I nod. "Well, I am going the same way as you. I live in Lumaelin, not too far up this road. We walk together in silence until we must part.  I wave goodbye, and the
man turns. "You have safeguarded an old man, a very laurir choice of you." He say's simply. I notice the sudden Ancient Tongue, and I don’t know what it means. “Laurir? I’m sorry, I don’t speak the Ancient Tongue.” The man smiles. “Noble.” the man smiles, then turns around and dissapears down the trail.

3.
Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing
in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and
calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his
carriage sells just about everything, and that he's

willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do?

(Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion

involved).

Answer:

"Ah,
well, I was just taking a walk, so I don't have many Minas on me. But I
suppose.. How much would'ya do for a nice cold ale?" I ask, suddenly in
need of an ale. The man laughs. "A good old ale. How about 15 Minas, if
you don't got much. "How did you know?" I ask, laughing. "I only have
15 Minas." I hand over the money and he returns the ale. he pulls one
out for himself. "Cheers!" we clang our glasses together. I drink some
of the ale, and lean against the stand. “See many people out here?” I
ask. The man grins. “Tons! I even had some orcs yesterday, they ran in
screaming “Al! Al! Dreenk! Dreenk!” They gave me 305 minas for 3 of my
finest Ale’s. 100 Minas for an ale, but this ale was magnificent, a fair
deal. I laugh. “A drunk Orc. Hmph. Orc’s are educated in war, not
language. So I understand.” The man groans. “They were drunk.” I
chuckle. “I have learned to respect Orc’s when I learned they saved us
from destruction against the Delvers and Mercenaries.” The man nods.
“Ah, so you’re from Malinor? I live in Salvus, quite a bit of crime
there now a days. Great for selling ale.” I laugh. “I must go now. Good
bye, and good luck with your shop! The man grins after me. “Good bye!”
