Out-Of-Character Information
Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate.

Minecraft Account Name: MunroWood
How old are you?: 24
Time-Zone: GMT -5 (EDT)
Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have. And a good set of rules they are.
What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I participated in several play-by-post RPGs on various forums about 8-10 years ago. Since then, I haven't been an active RP'er. I hope to change that.
How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: Um, some random Minecraft website. It might have been minecraftforum.net, but I can't remember.
Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: N/A
Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes.
Have you read the Dwarven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes, I have read it. Bottom line: dwarves like to fight a lot. Especially with the orcs.  I will to continue to review it, since there is a lot to remember, but I really appreiciate the rich history that has been developed.

Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Role-playing is a way to tell a story collaboratively, unleash the imagination, and have a ton of fun. It is important to remember that your character must fit into the hierarchy of the other people playing with you.
Meta-gaming: Cheating, plain and simple. Giving your character inside information takes the fun out of the experience. This is true not only for other players, but for yourself.
Power-emoting: This is another thing that takes the fun out of role-playing. Simply put, this is an effort to make yourself out to be the winner, no matter what, by going beyond your actions to the result of those actions, usually in a way that takes away all the other player's power in the encounter. Boring. Obviously, it can also be frustrating when another person tries to play your character for you.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Fimund Axegrinder
Current Age: 77 (11 seasons)
Sub-race (if any): Mountain Dwarf
Clan (if any): Unknown, but his grandmother claimed to be a Grandaxe. Fimund has no idea if that was true.
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Fimund grew up in a poor family. His father, Jormund, was never successful at any venture, and was hounded by debt. Fimund's earliest memories involve packing his few belongings in the dead of night and fleeing whatever town his family was living in at the time. He lost count of the number of times this happened. The happiest time he remembered was living in a small hut just outside Lenfarthing. He was only about a season old by then. His father used to take him to visit an old Halfling named Perry. He and Perry sometimes fished in the lake in Lenfarthing. Too soon, Jormund had lost all of his money again. So then they moved to a tiny basement room in Kingston. It wasn't until he was almost four seasons old that Fimund saw Dwarven lands for hte first time. The beauty of the snow capped mountains was so overwhelming that he wept silently to himself in the back of the wagon. He remembers wiping his tears away in a hurry when his father turned back to ask him a question. As much as he wanted to find a home high up on the majestic peaks, his father instead moved them into Kal'Azgoth.
Over the years, Fimund's father tried his hand at carpentry, smithing, gambling, grain speculation, highway robbery, and several other occupations that Fimund can't even remember. His father failed at all of these things, but kept thinking up some new plan to strike it rich. The stress of that lifestyle turned out to be too much for Fimund's mother, a small, frail dwarven maid named Leena. She had nearly died giving birth to Fimund, and had never tried to have another child. Fimund loved her dearly and spent as much time with her as he could, always discussing which of the Brathmodakin and paragons were most to be admired. He always chose Yemakar, and of course she loved Anbella.
But after decades of exhausting travel and poor living conditions, she finally fell ill with a very bad case of Ki'katta. Jormund had traveled to Abresi to buy 10,000 bottles of a sham love potion, so Fimund was left to care for her himself. After several weeks, her condition continued to deteriorate. The dwarven physicians could do nothing for her in her delicate condition. In desperation, he decided to take her to the Cloud Temple in search of a cure. But it was too late. She died on the road a few hours from the temple, and he buried her in an unmarked grave in a forest beneath a small mountain.
That was the last straw for the young dwarf. He wants nothing more to do with his father, and now he plans to set out on his own and find a place to settle down among the peaks of the Dwarven mountains.

Ambitions for the Future: Fimund just wants to find something he is good at, and settle down to a quiet life of moderate prosperity. He is afraid that he might turn out to be just as unfocused and hapless as his father, but he is determined not to fail. Despite his desire to settle down, he still has an adventurous streak that won't quite go away.
Personality: Fimund has trouble relating to other people. Due to moving around constantly, he never had any close friends as a young beardling. He has a stubborn determination about him that allows him to accomplish the things he sets his mind to. His mother instilled in him a strong sense of duty and knowledge of right and wrong, but the poor example set by his father has led to difficulty living up to his principles. He has a very hard time seeing things from other people's point of view. However, he goes out of his way to find out all the details before forming his own opinions. Overall, people find him to be friendly and good, but his stubborn nature has gotten him into a few altercations in the past, and he is not afraid to come to blows over an argument.
Skills: Fimund's mother, Leena, educated him thoroughly as a child. Nowadays, he spends a lot of time reading and writing, and he learned to do delicate work with his hands. This has earned him some scorn from the other dwarves around him, who focused more on rough work. He has below average skill with weapons and large tools, but what he lacks in strength, he makes up for in enthusiasm. Many schoolyard fights ended quickly when he intimidated his stronger opponent with a childish war-cry as he rushed in headlong. As a hobby, Fimund creates ornate daggers. He has also showed skill in masonry.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):

Fimund.jpg

Fimund is tall for a dwarf, but somewhat slight of build. His bright red hair has begun to thin at the top. He keeps his beard trimmed to a length about halfway down his chest. He has a small nose and small brown eyes, which don't draw too much attention. If not for the garish tint of his hair and beard, he would look very unremarkable. In most cases, he moves with slow deliberation, until he gets excited. At that point, he gets fidgety and can't stop moving.

Any other details you wish to share about your character:
Fimund speaks slowly and concisely, wthout much accent, except when he gets angry, at which point he becomes nearly unintelligible, struggling even to put a sentence together. He rarely loses his temper, though.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst mining deep in the undergrounds of Kalos you see a large deposit of diamond ore at the other side of the ravine you are on. There is a very thin rock bridge that looks precariously unstable, but it is the only way to access the deposit. What do you do?

Answer: As gem-lust fills my heart to the brim, I begin to search my surroundings for some tool or item that I can use to make it across safely. Frantic, I pace back and forth for several minutes before determining that there is nothing around to make the task easier. But I have to have those diamonds.
Carefully, I edge out onto the thin shelf of protruding rock. Dust and pebbles shift and clatter down into the abyss below. My heart is in my throat. With a sharp crack, the bridge begins to give way. But I'm almost across, so I leap the last few feet. The cavern shakes as teh rocks tumble into the gloom, and I let out a sigh of relief. Then I get to work chipping away at the rock holding the massive gems in place, too engrossed in my work to realize that there is no safe path back across the chasm.

2. You are sitting in the local tavern with a large pint of ale in your hand - sitting nearby you is a rather young dwarf whom is clearly going through a bad time. He is crying to himself, and clutching a small wooden hammer toy. In the other corner of the room two shady dwarves are sitting whispering to each other and pointing occasionally at the dwarf. They stand up, one with a small dagger in his hand and begin to approach the young dwarf. What do you do?

Answer: I turn back to my ale, hoping that one of the other people in the room will intervene. It's not my business, right? I choose to ignore the fact that the only other patron is an old merchant, who has gone half-mad, sitting in the other corner talking to himself. I'm actually more disturbed by how distracting the kid's bawling is that the clearly hostile intent of the ruffians who are slowly making their way closer.
But then they get really close to the beardling. He probably owes them money, and they're just trying to scare him a little. That knife looks awfully sharp. In a flash, I realize that I am the only one who can help him. Father Urguan would never have just stood by at a time like this.  I leap to my feet, knocking over my drink, and it splashes all over the crying beardling's feet. He begins to shout at me for ruining his boots, but I rush past and get between him and his attackers.
The one with the dagger looks at me, with an expression that almost seems puzzled. He opens his mouth to say something, and I take the opportunity to knock a couple of his teeth out. But his friend isn't caught by surprise. He grabs a tankard of ale and clubs me on the top of the head. The room goes dark.

3. Whilst wandering through the Dwarven Caverns you hear a voice call out to you; “Oi, ye’! C’mere n’ get ye’rself an ale!”. You spin on your heel and see a heavily bearded bar-owner looking at you - a huge grin on his face, and a mug of ale in his hand. How do you react?

Answer: I am taken by surprise, but he seems friendly enough. I pause for a moment. There's nothing pressing in my schedule. " 'Ere, gimme two," I reply.
"Where ya headed off ta in such a hurry?" He asks, running his gnarly fingers through a long beard thick with the smell of stale ale.
I take a second to think about it, but I can't remember. "Nowhere import'nt." The mugs are brimming with cold brew, foam overflowing and dripping down the sides. I lick my lips and take a long gulp. The bar-keep gives me anotrher crooked grin.
