To any passer by, three burnt husks would be visible before the walls of Haelun'or. Their bodies unrecognizable and deformed by the flames, their flesh being picked apart by birds of prey. The steel tips of crossbow bolts remain all too visible and bured into the flesh.
 
Within the walls the high elves remove all manner of armor, clean bloodied spears and maintain their cranequins. Their task had once again been completed. Under the trees of their blessed city the high elves rejoiced.
 

 

But hours after this had been done the Sohaer walked the streets of Malinor and Haelun'or and approached each wanted sign. Two names were struck from the list: Kardel and Vallel. Retribution had been given. Three remained.
