The Rumours Art True!

It was a quiet morning in the capital of Oren; Abresi. People emerged from their homes and rooms, ready to take on a new day. Some gathered at the fountain, others grouped up at the gates, eager to be let out. Shoppes and Tavern doors slowly creaked open, and loud, noisy merchants gathered in the square, advertising their bits and bobbles. There was however, one who stood out from the crowd. An old, crooked man in strange robes, carrying with him a long, wooden staff. The citizens watched strangely as the man strolled up the main street, towards the city square. As the man stopped in the middle of the square, he leaned onto his staff and closed his eyes, as if he was exhausted and in need of a breather. Soon, the residents around started whispering questions to one another. "Who is this man?" "What is going on?"

It was a great surprise to all when the old man suddenly jumped and his eyes popped wide open. He looked distressed, if not struck with fear. The old man leaped over to the fountain, and on top of a crate right next to it. As more people gathered around the square to see what this old fool was up to, the old man tapped his staff a couple of times down on the wooden box, and uttered a word that would soon draw the rest of the citizens' attention.

"DOOM!"

The man turned his head, facing one side, to another, watching as the rest of the people flocked around the city square. Once again, he tapped his wooden staff on the crate, repeating the word he uttered earlier. "DOOM DOOM DOOM! THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE!"

The man was now sweating. The now very silenced crowd curiously watched the old crooked man speak, awaiting more information from him.

"Behold, people of Oren, for I have seen the truth! Dark times are ahead, and we may not survive!"

"Were you there!?", he says pointing at a woman in the middle of the crowd, before he turns to point at another person, this time, a man. "Were you there!?"

The old man continues. "I was, yes I was there! I was there when death itself rose up from their very graves! I was there when the necromancer used his dark magics, and reanimated the dead soldiers of both man and dwarf! Aye, on the battlefield! I was there when thundering pigmen marched on us, and fire shooting down from the sky!"

Confused, the crowd looked at each other, frowning and scratching their heads. What is this crazy man talking about? A few guards stood silently on the sideline, ready to interfere should it be deemed necessary.

"He will return, no he has returned! The dark lord has returned! His undead minions have awaken once again! I saw it, saw it with my own eyes! The dwarven legion was there, to fend off the living dead! Oren was not there, no! Only a few people, and the legion! Who could have done such a thing! How did Iblees himself enter this world once again! I know, for I have seen the truth! And I know where he is!"

The citizens gasped at the words uttered. Could he really be back?

"The daemon himself, has taken control! He is raising his own soldiers, pulling them back from their rest, only to crush the opposition! THAT DAEMON, IS SITTING ON THE THRONE OF OREN! HOREN IS POSSESSED! IBLEES HAS COOOOME!"

"This is an outrage! Take this man away!" one of the guards ordered. Two strong men firmly approached the doomsayer.

"They will take me away, they will turn me! SAVE YOURSELVES! Don't bring them back, DON'T BRING THEM BACK, YOU WILL DOOM US ALL! FIGHT HOREN!"

The guardsmen reached the crate, and violently kicked him down from the stand. They both grabbed the old man's arms, and dragged him along the cold, stone road, away from the public. The crowd remained, some in shock, others simply shrugging it off. Whether the old man was speaking the truth or not, remains to be seen.

Hunwald grunts as the man is taken away.

"So, bad risen dead happens constantly throughout all landscape of Oren and Anthos as well. Some pop up on past battlefield and man says it is Oren's fault?," Hunwald shakes his head, continuing, "Man was obviously insane. If anything, it is Dwarf-Shortie black magic that makes undead rise."

Aeyrius watches as the man is taken away, frowning to himself, before leaving the square, heading to the remains of what used to be the site of the crossing battle, both of his hatchets in hand, to look for anything that could lead to the conclusion the man had. "'I' was there... In the battlefield... Right after..." Aeyrius nods to himself, taking stance into a sprint, his fractured shin having been healed in the passed month.

*Legion Commander Zahrer Irongrinder watches as his men slay the last of the pigmen. The last is slain and a necromancer's sword is taken.

"Gud wurk lads. Le's see Oren accuse us o' aidin undead now"

((Silly man, those are dwarf soldiers killing them))

Aeyrius arrives at the scene, sitting down beside a patch of Dark Material on the ground, taking out a piece of parchment and ink, pulling a bone from his satchel as he begins to roughly sketch what he saw, in the later hours afterwards, he would refine the image to look presentable;

"So it is true."
