Need Help With An Orc Application (Maybe Whitewash)

A whitewash Orc isn't really a subrace per say, in the physical sense of the word. A whitewash Orc, commonly known as Wiydwazh by the Uruks, is an Orc that has forsaken his or her own kind, broken their traditions and disregarded their god and beliefs, which generally revolve around Honor and Krug. A whitewash Orc is hunted his or her whole life (In most cases), by Orcs, and shooed away from any permanent home by any others due to the 'trouble' they bring, trouble being the Orc hunters intent on mounting the Whitewash's skull somewhere impressive.
They don't vary at all physically from other Orcs, though it is common for weaker Orcs be be banished from the Uzg, or their clan, due to losing an honor klomp, or something similar.

In several cases, Whitewash Orcs can make their way back into the Orcish community, usually by varying means, most involving klomps. Additionally, any Orc Shaman that becomes Whitewash loses their powers, since it is foremost fueled by the ancestors and spirits, which generally look down on Whitewashes.

It's up to you, really. You can message clan leaders on the forums and organise to relate your background around being born in the clan, or say you are a 'nomadic Orc' (Orc that isn't whitewash but doesn't have a clan, and roams around the desert) And be initiated into a clan by its leader or an elder once excepted. A few clans won't allow this, mostly the Lurs, but there are many other clans which will gladly welcome you into their group. Good luck with your application, i'll keep in touch with the thread in case you need more help.

I would advise not playing a whitewash until you have a great deal of experience playing orcs and just roleplaying in general. I have seen tremendous amounts of effort put into taking whitewashes down, small armies sent to uproot one or two of them. Whitewashes aren't really supposed to be given asylum by other races/nations, but unfortunately they are, but still, it's better if you don't unless you know what you're dealing with.

Regular orc RP is really fun. If you get past the somewhat confusing net of lore and language, it's really awesome, and you will not regret it.

The reason that some of the orc players dislike whitewashes is that their community is the smallest of all of the main races on LoTC, and they really need more orcs. I'm not going to guilt you into not playing a whitewash like some others will try to, but I'm just going to say, please know that you're not going to end up playing a 8' green muscular human at any point in time.

That's my two cents. Good luck, dude, and have fun.

im bumping this thread after ages, just to apologize to those of you whose time i wasted asking for help, because not only did i wait a year to get my **** together and get a proper PC, but ive decided against a whitewash anyways after rereading this. if i was a good enough pvper id reconsider, but ill just get more experience and maybe try one another time.

so my new dillema is:

Warrior or Shaman and why?

also once again, any updates to lore would be helpful.

note to mods: sorry if im necrobumping, but i felt like i had to let these guys know for some weird reason, if im in violation of the posting rules i apologize in advance.

I'd definitely start with Warrior. As a Shaman, it's definitely a much better approach to join the Orc community not immediately seeking Shamanism, and generally letting the Shamanism come to you, as what happened with me and Catarrh, whom are considered the current best living Shamans. If over time you prove yourself ICly to be worthy of Shamanism, and OOCly to a teacher that you can be trusted to correctly and fairly roleplay Shamanism, then you'll definitely have a chance.
