This is not a dwarven language guide, that can be found here :

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/89930-dwarven-language/

Now let's get started, shall we?

First off, "H"

Dwarves rarely ever pronounce their "H"s

So instead of "Hello" they'd do "'Ello". They replace the "h" with an apostrophe. This is only if it is the front of a word, it doesn't happen in the middle of the word. There are some exceptions, The word "This would be "t'is" because there's a vowel next to it, if it's by a "Y" it wouldn't make sense such as "w'eh" See? That would be "We" instead of "Why". So, if it still makes sense, go ahead and do it, some people may not understand you...

Second off, "O"s

Dwarves usually replace their "O"s with "U"s this depends on the person you are, the stonger the accent the more likely you would use a "U" instead of an "O". Like Dizzy said sometimes you can replace "A" with "O" such as "o-bout?"

Third off "Y"s

Dwarves usaully don't pronounce "Y"s. (The only exception is "why") Instead they would do an "EH". For exapmle, "'Eh onleh loike 'im slightleh". Y = Eh. Except if the letter before is an "H". Like the "H" "Y"s only ever happen at the end, otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

Fourth off "I"s

"I"s are also usually pronounced as "E"s. Such as "Et, and ef". Also, usually before an "I" in a sentence there's a "O" such as "Loike" Just to give it that longer, harder sound...

Some pointers:

You = Ye

If you want to get someones attention you would say "Oi!"

I = "Eh"

So, this is just to get ya started, once it clicks in you should do your own thing because it is /your/ character. So yeah... Have fun roleplaying!

This is just my opinion :P

Ummmm yea, really dwarven accents are more of a player preference than anything. There are some common basics but many things can change based on each individual. I would suggest taking down this guide as its more interesting and fun for a person to learn and adapt their own accents.

An example of said individuality is my character, I always have this little thing where I go "o-" such as "W'at are ye talkin o-bout?" or many other scenarios like that (another example "o-preciated tha 'elp") I also use it sometimes instead of the use of "of" such as "Mah name beh Dizzy O-Kal' Azgoth"

Also, some of your rules you have, such as the NEVER USE Y are not used by many dwarves. In fact I tend to say words like "yer" or "your" or varying other words a lot. Even at the end of words instead of using "eh" I will occasionally use Y, it just depends how it fits with the rest of the sentence. Example being my name, I always say "Dizzy" as apposed to "Dizzeh" though both are acceptable.

Regulating an accent or language becomes tiresome and restrictive and it is much more fun to let people develop how they want (I saw one dwarf who had such a thick accent, he RP'ed a very old drunkard of a dwarf, it matched SO well)

Thats just my suggestion, but hey, what do I know, I'm just the Dwarf King right? :P

Basically the only thing dwarves should do is not pronounce the "H" since thats pretty much the only constant between dwarven players. Except Kilgrim, who seems to speak normally except he slurs all his S's. The accent is completely player preferential, although I've noticed the older dwarves like Charles tend to speak with the thickest accent and have all they're own little rules which no one else can be bothered following.

And Dizzy - its actually Dizzeh uv Ac'Talarah. lelel :P
