Great changes! However I do agree with many others in this post. Players who have made a pre change full VA should have there old app counted as "Account Va". This would pull alot of weight off of us old VAer's. Anyhow great work thanks!

This change looks like a healthy balance between regulation and VA freedom. We might, methinks, see even less restriction in the future. Considering the mostly positive reactions, however, I think this change will stay for the long-haul.

 

I'm torn, though, when it comes to making previous full VA's account VA's. Considering the work gone into existing major VA's, I feel that the account application may be slightly redundant for those with existing applications. However, I do recognize the need for organization, and account VA creation for everybody does help on the documentation front. I must say I'm leaning, ever so slightly, toward the way things are laid out in the OP, not only because the account application seems easy enough (relatively) to write up.

 

Happily, however, this decision has seemed to appease all sides of the argument, save Wode. I'm quite impressed, given the pattern of... stubbornness among those involved in almost any issue that this compromise has been so readily accepted. Overall, both the decision, and the reaction to it, demonstrate an advancement in the server.

 

Thanks to the staff team for all their recent work. I can honestly say I am looking forward to what the future may bring.

Better than the old system, but less of all these requirements would still be nice. Now we just need more active VAT members.

Also I think just having to write an account va next time you make a character a villain is better than having to do one regardless right now because of a purge, like last time.

While yes it is a significant cut on the original; I'd still rather see a complete removal and then just place responsibility on the player themselves, rather then a system of checks and balances.

"Compromise." Heard of it? I think it's a great word in this context. Everyone is getting something out of the new VA system and hey, that's pretty cool.

You want to be treated like the wise Gandalf himself, enjoying all the freedom you could ever wish for? Show the staff that everyone in this community is capable of being like that and we're good to go. Rules, "checks" and balances are put in place to regulate and to remain (civil and social) structures. Without them, there'd be chaos & anarchy. In fact, rules and balances are there to ensure things work out rather smoothly for everyone. I don't think there's any point in discussing this any further but I agree with you - only time will show.

Shouldn't the current accepted VAs just act as account VAs instead of character ones? They had pretty much everything the account VAs have as far as requirements go.
