About how long have you been on the server? I was accepted two weeks before server release, with a couple hiatus I've been here ever since.

 

Why you want to be an AT member? I think I can be an unbiased and productive member to the Application Team. First off I understand the in's and out to a good application. I've been around the server for quite awhile and with that I have gained a vast amount of knowledge with the lore. Furthermore I have held the position of Forum Moderator on Lord of the Craft and have proven to be an unbiased person who does not abuse their power and does their job correctly. Additionally, I believe myself to be a helpful member of the community.

Why you want to be an AT member? I'd like to help out with the server in some way na dearn some trust back after I majorly screwed up a few months back, plus now that I've finished school, I've got plenty of free time and I enjoy reading so app team is a pretty easy job for me. Also, I used to be on the whitelisting team on another server (although that involved accepting application and then going on the server to add them to the whitelist but its basically the same thing).

Why you want to be an AT member?

I've been apart of this server for so long, and I've enjoyed myself a tremendous amount. I'd like to give back to the community, and this is the perfect opportunity  I remember when I was new and applied, the AT member helped me out so much, and it truly helped me. I hope that I'm able to do the same for countless other new applicants. Also, I'd like to help get players started on their career of LotC.

 

I believe that I'd be able to read the new applications and not only find flaws, but also find great strengths in the applicant's writing skills. I hope that I am considered for the position of AT member, and I hope that I am able to give back to the community that has done so much for me.

Why you want to be an AT member? I really like being able to see the new blood looking to join the server, and giving people advice on how to better their application to fit lore and recent events. I'm an honors English student, so I have skill in grammar and spelling, along with general skills. I feel like I've been playing for quite a long time, but have not yet had a chance to help the moderation much at all, and would like to support by checking applications, which sounds like a worthwhile job.

Why you want to be an AT member?

I would like to become an AT member because I feel it would be a great team to join because of how I use and get on the forums. I am on the forums everyday, poking around, for at least 3 hrs (checking every now and then) on my IPhone. I feel that this would be a job I can handle due to my time on the forums. I also have decent grammar/spelling (sometimes I mess up due to IPhone, but I usually double check) and have great background knowledge with whitelist apps (helping friends write their apps, etc.). I am a kind and fun person to hang around and hope to help all those who need it to help make their Whitelist app the best it could be. With being on the server for over a year I have explored all races and have a good amount of background knowledge on most of them(except Orc and Kha).

Why you want to be an AT member?

I would like to become part of the Application Team because I belive they are the front lines for the server. The AT decides who is able to play on the wonderful server you have worked so hard to form, and I would like to help select the new players for the server as be part of the team. I belive I would make a excellent addition to the team because I enjoy reading. I every-so-often look at the applications recently submitted, and I enjoy reading the unique stories people may come up with. Aside from only enjoying to read them, I also understand the things acceptable and unacceptable. Why you want to be an AT member?

 

Primarily, I want to become an AT so I can contribute to the server and 'repay' some of the joy it's brought to me over these past couple of years, as I feel it's about time I finally did something to help the server. I also want to help bring newcomers on to the server so they can experience all of the amazing times I've had for themselves, so long as they're willing to take the server seriously and put the best of their abilities in to their roleplay.

 

I have applied for the AT 2 or so times prior to this, but motives have not changed and I still think I have the necessary experience to treat this position with respect and ensure that I only consider applicants who've shown dedication in their applications for acceptance. As an AT, I would like to see applicants be creative in their biographies and character information so that I can be sure that they would create enjoyable and entertaining roleplay for others as well as themselves, however I would expect them to work hard on the entire application.

 

Since I always have all available channels open at all times in game, I can always help players who are seeking assistance with their applications while online, and I would be happy to do so. I tend to spend a lot of hours online and am almost always on the forums whilst online. Since I am also in a time zone far different to that of the majority of the server, I can dedicate my time earlier in the day to applications without having to worry about roleplaying later in the day, unless there are a lot that need reviewing in which case I would happily sort through a few.

Why you want to be an AT member?  Truth be told, I have considered applying for the application team several times in the past, but at the time I was also a Forum Moderator, and I felt that I should focus on a single staff position rather than spread my time among multiple positions. Being on this server for quite a long time now, it is my belief that I can differentiate good RP from the bad, and I think that I will be able to judge applications fairly, not nitpicking and denying people for some banalities or common/simple grammar mistakes.

Why you want to be an AT member?

I want not to deny apps and leave applicants in a hole, I want to help them be successful for the next time they try again. I believe I have more experience in writing, because creativity and uniqueness matters in a roleplaying server. I feel that I should be privileged to be a part of the team. Its not a game to see who has more power over anyone, its a chance to prove to others why your voice matters and what you could add to benefit the whole in general. I believe I can earn a place in the App Team, and be an asset which can be manipulated in a positive way. I am straightforward, honest, and unafraid of speaking my mind.

 

When I look at a great application, it should contain original, creative, distinguishable, enjoyable, and realistic content. Originality matters because no one enjoys reading an app about an orphan or the Mary Sue/Harry Lou cliché. An application must be enjoyable so that one can look upon it in the future and not want to stop re-reading it. It doesn't have to be long, but must get to the point and show that the character can be a plausible soul capable of being distinct. The lack of a proper story can easily throw the reader's attention. A biography should not jump to conclusions or be too heroic. If the application looks as if it was written in five minutes, like my app here, it should be the best application LOTC will ever read, mind the multiple commas to run sentences on for many lines. But in all seriousness, an application should be the preface to your dedication to the server.

Why do you want to join the Application Team?: Basically, The more members the quicker the response to an app and possibly a better reply. I have an, I'd say, Advanced understanding or Apps. Especially whitelist RP applications.

Why do you feel you should be allowed to join the Application Team?: Why and If I join is your decision but I must say I am on the forums the majority of my day and anything that needs a reply, feedback, or advice you can most likely see my opinions scattered across the thread.

Do you feel you could perform your work professionally and effectively?: Most certainly. Like previously stated I have more than adequate experience with applications of all sorts.

What do you feel are the five most important parts of a server application, and why?:

Five? Quite a specific question but very well.

The OOC section answered completely and seriously is important. You would be surprised how many apps I have seen that people troll their way through the OOC thinking it is unimportant. It shows a lot of maturity or the lack of it, the OOC does.

Definitions answered completely and /UNplagiarized/ . The nerve of some people Copy/Pasting straight from a wiki or other server... Knowledge of RP is reasonably important but if I can see they are not very experienced or new to RP I would send a PM with advice and let them edit it if possible. Noted I have already sent a couple of PMs to certain applicants with some tips but that is irrelevant

Now to the fun parts! The base character creation is pretty important considering it is the basis of all RP that will come from that character in the future. Lets go point by point shall we? Alright so point one, The Name. Considering what race and Sub-Race the character race is would decide the type of name, what it can and can't be according to culture. Example, A dark elf could not be NAMED (nicknames are a different story) something along the lines of Orgruk or Edward, Nor could an orc be named Princeton unless supported and explained by a well written bio. Point Two, Race and Sub-race. Take for example the character's name was Bartholomew the Loyal or whatever cliche' title a typical knight would use, This man could not be a High Elf chairman, The name would not fit with lore not to mention all the ridicule the poor man would get about his impure name.I would not deny an app on the basis of a bad name but I would make sure it is changed or supported with correct lore. Point Three Age. This is self explanatory. A human could not live to be 400yr and still be able to run circles around a group of bandits. Nor could a pure High Elf be 20 but look...... 20 the aging is /outlined/ in the wiki I see many people IG that even break this lore.

The Bio! Possibly my favorite but the most I find myself ridiculing. A good backstory makes an app. Of course I would look for grammar and spelling, along with Lore and creativity. I also look for originality, It makes my day to read a non cliche' app and It bugs me so many people stick to the whole 'Bandets raded me an keelid me fater an muder an I run way' Also uniqueness shows potential for enhancing RP and is a huge plus in my book.

Character Goals, appearance and characteristics. The character's mindset tward the world infront of them can change the entirety or RP they produce. More common uses like 'Adventure an loot an stuff ye' sluggard!' are not very unique and while they are not too important to a verdict they can show the level of RP the player can preform. Lastly, The skin. The skin of a character can do many things and show many things as well. A good skin (like mine *wink) can draw in potential roleplayers and honestly a badly done skin is just an eyesore. Another point is a way to 'kiss up' like additional info can be a bad sign varying on the severity and content. Again not something I would base a denial off of.

Yes. I have been a moderator for quite a number of servers, which ranges from PvP (Player vs Player), to just regular old Vanilla survival. 
 

The most memorable time of moderating for myself was when I moderated for a set of servers that was a tryhard Team Fortress 2 server. I was on quite often after school, and I helped out quite a bit. (Currently have lost communications with the owner.)

Why should we let you become an Application Team member?: 

 

I believe that I could offer a set of skills that are rather basic, but important. These skills being alongside the lines of: Reviewing lore quickly, and reading the text of the application quickly and thoroughly  to allow them to be accept or denied all the more quickly.

 

About how long have you been on the server?: 

 

Now, if I can remember correctly, about a month and a half.  I've gotten quite interested into the server as of late, with it being there, I can practice correct grammar, spelling and things of the like.

 

Why you want to be an AT member? 

 

Well, it's not so much the application team, as it is the people. I like to read, and so I've been spending a half hour a day, reading the Wiki (or at least trying to, I've caught up on the dark elven lore more so than  I had before). I believe that with a constant schedule of nothing but reading, I could quickly catch up to the knowledge of the lore that most AT members already have. 

I also like getting the satisfaction of getting PMs on forums and other places with a satisfied, "Thanks!" And things like that. I believe that with someone like myself, I can help out more than I do already, which really isn't much.

I also believe that I can provide the staff with a persona of someone who has a strong sense of what is right, and what is wrong. Especially with grammatical errors, lore, and other things.
