Mali’ker Z’ress’onn

 

What is Z’ress?

 

The word Z’ress   implicates the idea of strength, power, and dominance in the Mori’quessir’s tongue. Thus when the word is added to the elven phrase the elven-Drow mix of Mali’ker Z’ress’onn expresses the idea of Dark Elves being born of strength, power, and dominance.(The elven tongue does not have a word for power, thus it’s substituted by a word of the dark elves’ cousins.) Despite the usage of a Mori and this concept of power and strength, Dark elves of this breed are far from what has been tabled as the typical dark elf(Cannibalistic, highly irrational and aggressive, edgy)

 

This is also not an elven “house” of sorts, but it is a platform of a dark elf that has been played through Aegis to now. At first, the trend was slow going and was myself and a friend; however, as of recently it has grown exponentially. This has been the way I’ve been rping these past two years, and as of recently the trend as of spread greatly among other darkies, and among malinor elves there is a clear culture within some of these dark elves (Among the non edgy ones that is)

 

Fundamental qualities and traits(A brief summary)

 

• Mildly arrogant and elitist; however, not the the extreme of being unable to function in the presence of other races

• Perfectionists, a drive to make every aspect of ones life excel beyond all others

• Strong willed mentally and physically(Created from the drive for perfection)

• A crave for order and justice(More will be explained later)

• An understanding that at times the best course of action is to act in a violent/physical manner. There is little reluctance to step into conflict physically, any reluctance would come from a respect for the other elves’ beliefs and ways

• A hunger for influence and power over a physical realm

• Law-abiding(unless the law creates chaos)

• A decent and healthy respect for life; however, chaotic beings(Orcs, at times humans and dwarves) are often despised

• Nocturnal, a love for the dark (but not the evil it could bring)

 

Elitism and Arrogance

 

The lore has states that on average, a dark elf would have more body mass over their paler-brothers. Also in the lore(the very first Dark elf lore in fact) they dark elves have been said to be very good at swordsmanship. So what how does this original lore interpret to a typical dark elf? They’re more focused on the physical, than their other elves. They innately make up the best warriors for the race (Due to culture and size). It’s from this the arrogance is formed

 

A dark elf of strength, Z’ress, sees himself as a warrior and fighter (Not necessarily in the context of only using melee fighting, but as one who jumps into battle) while they see their pale-brothers as artists, painters, great-bards, and tradesmen. This to a dark elf who adheres to the teachings of strength is a form of weakness, if the mali does not know how to defend himself, family, or nation. This is where the elitism stems from, they view the other elves as weaker; however, not inferior. In the minds of this form of Dark elf, malin had designed their race(dark elves) to protect the more innocent and weaker beings of the mali. Mali’ker Z’ress’onn see them as a shield to elven culture and life, a buffer to the hatred of the outside world. They do have partial separatist between wood elves and high elves, yet the separatist views are expressed positively. They’re separate to be protectors.

 

Non-Elves are often viewed as being lesser, only in the fact that they are not as long lived. They’re dealt with caution, as they are known to embrace chaos among the elves quite readily. However, they’re also pitied for their short-life spans, horrendous appearances, short-stature and greed, and violent-cultures

 

The Path of Strength

 

This is the path believed that all dark elves follow. You were made and designed by Malin to be strong powerful, to be the overseer and vanguard of his other children. To enact the will of your father to his design, you’re to seek to betterment of yourself in all forms. (To better yourself, betters the elven race)

 

Qualities of strength

 

• Honestly

• Honor

• Physical might and strength(This can be substituted for magical might)

• Adept in combat

• Vindicator of order

• Intelligence

• Pure bloodline(More about this soon enough)

 

Weakness among dark elves implicates they do not follow the path of strength, thus they deny being a dark elf. These individuals would receive the full force of their elitism. Dark elves who deny what Z’ress dark elves believe to be a dark elf, have regretted their race. To a dark elf raised in this culture, these creatures would be considered worse than an any other race (Even exceeding chaotic beings).

 

Qualities of Weakness

 

• Extreme manipulation

• Laziness (Meaning if the individual does not contribute to elven society in any way)

• Followers of chaotic gods (The Spider Queen, Iblees)

• Cannibals

• Those that do not adhere to social order (Criminals and rebels)

• Murderers

• In league with human and dwarven factions

• Wantonous behavior(Aka, being a *****. Man or Female)

• Half-breed (Of any variation)

•  

Among themselves, they view an individual's worth as to how closely they follow the passage of strength. To better their view among the community is to better themselves in the qualities of strength

 

Dark Elven purity

 

Yes, their elitism too expresses this concept; however, it differs in reason than the high elves. They take in a great sense of pride in being a vanguard of elven-ways and life, and they believe themselves best fit for the task. As stated before, other elven races are viewed only inferior in a physical sense(Not socially and mentally) To better protect the pale-skins would be to preserve “strong” genes by not interbreeding. All dark elves are viewed to innately have “strong genes”

 

However, a small exception to the rule could come from a pale-elf who is strong in will and nature. This paler elf would have to not only proven himself to the lover, but to many others within the community. This elf would be expected to comply to the path of strength

 

Non-elf mixes are unacceptable. To create a half-breed is to create a creature with two curses, which only weakens the individual’s potential. Half-breeds are innately weaker than a pure elf, thus not following the passage of strength. (Although they can not “mingle” does not mean they cannot be friends, or not treated with hate)

 

Order

 

The purpose of their existence is believed to ensure peace remains in the forests of the elves; therefore, their purpose is to maintain order and destroy chaos.

 

Beings of chaos are threaten their purpose, thus they are innately an enemy. Those that follow chaotic gods are hated. To instill allegiance in a greater power, that seeks to destroy the forest’s of Malin, is tenfold worse than being a simple bandit(Although a bandit is quite hated)

 

Druidic teachings, although do not bring hatred, are often frowned on. In druidic faith, the world is established by a balance between chaos and order. Thus it’s acceptable in druidic ideology to have plenty of chaos about, as long as an equal amount of order stands. These dark elves take the fact that chaotic beliefs and actions to be tolerated, to be a form of weakness. This in their eyes can be expressed as laziness(A lack of desire to get rid of the evil, so they ‘accept it’) and in part devotion to a chaotic deity(Although, not as extreme as Iblees, as the druids also promote peace and order in the midst of evil). Theoretically a druid will only take action when order and chaos are out of balance, making them an ambiguous mixture of friend and foe. However, their mildly-anarchistic and neutral beliefs are tolerated, in respect to the elves they are to protect.

 

Gender

 

Social gender is non existence among these elves(Of course biological gender is). Man and woman are treated equally; however, due to the present culture of Mali’ker Z’ress’onn, in our view it would appear that all are treated and raised in our sense of “masculinity”. Male and Female are to be equally as strong and powerful, and to accept a gender role is both laughable, a sign of weakness, and a viewed as a form of enslavement

 

Religion

 

Religion is not part of their culture in any form, except for a hatred for devious and evil deities(Or extremely neutral ones)  The dark elf could be a steadfast follower of the concept of anti-religion, a deist, or a follower of the creator. However, religious zealotry(Among all elves in general) is nonexistent.

 

 

How would one become a dark elf of this sorts?

 

-Well, you could make a new character and play as a child. This would have to be done if you know one oocly

 

-Second, if you're a dark elf, you may take notice of this group's influence. If you have, then to join is to simply ask! Of course, you will not just be accepted without any reason. You will have to ask one of the Z'ress to teach you their ways, in order to become one. Once you've been deemed worthy you will have access to the shared cavern/supplies.

Ah, quite the breed of Dark Elf I can get behind. This lore actually bears a lot of semblance what my personal ideal for the High Elves was at the time of lore inception. In particular, the clauses on purity and the symbiotic rather than separatist relationship with other Elven creeds. Of course religion is like two peas in a pod. A lot of stuff is sufficiently different, otherwise, but I really like the ideal that you have captured within this iteration of Mali'ker lore.

 

Back then, my wishing for something of the sort got overruled for more racism and alienate everyone else. This was demanded by people who were inactive roleplayers and have long since vanished, of course. Ah, it makes me slightly sad.

 

Anyway I think you have a firm grasp on what would work and what people would truly like to see and Roleplay both as and against. So I wish you all the luck on Anthos with it. I hope people will give it a chance. Shine on.
