Heff 2460 Share Posted October 20, 2013 We are not moving into another town. Halflings are very reclusive, would never move in with Bigguns, and live in burrows not trees.
cman64 66 Share Posted October 20, 2013 #GamleIrongut4Elder2013 Let dwarves get burrows, and I guarentee I could get some dwarven population going on. That wouldn't be a bad idea. we could have an extra area for dwarves and maybe even larger ones for men and elves. It would increase out population in lenfarthing. We could make a direct road to lenfarthing as well for easier access. I do like the idea of going to a capital city, but i am not willing to leave my burrow. maybe the elves could expand to a outpost town that is close to Lenfarthing. maybe have some towns near the whale body

Halflings are more or less accepting of them right of the bat, since we're sort of cousins in a way. Too many dwarves would ruin it, but maybe 4 or 5 would be good. For humans and elves, halflings are not very trusting of them in the first place. Maybe one or two living around would be fine, if they have completely earned their trust, but making Lenfarthing a multi-racial central hub for RP of all races would sort of take away from the unique feel of halflings. DruinsBane 240 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Honestly my suggestion for the community of the halflings is to build a center of town if already existing publicize it. And second talk to some event team members, I'm sure if you ask nicely you could have events on a daily bases. People love events it'll send em running from all round. Make the race appealing show them all the fun it can be to be a midget.
Iosif 72 Share Posted October 20, 2013 I belive we have one dwarf living here ATM, I think a few more wouldn't hurt but if we were to multiracial it would ruin Lenfarthing. I think an actualy easy to find road could work. Honestly the only way I know to get there is off the Bearded elf road and through the forest. I think in 4.0 we definitely need a new system. I started drawing up some ideas today and will post them later.
Baconthief 682 Share Posted October 20, 2013 I share your pain D: We are the second non-combat rp oriented nation nect to you Our city is too damn big Try to find a central point where all the rp happens, and build on it. I would suggest near the entrance to lenfarthing. I would also create some events/festivals within th ehalfings, I would enjoy plenty of elf-Halfling rp aswell. Pm me anytime you've an idea for something

I'm a dwarf, and am trying to get them to let me get a burrow, but there are never Elders on. I believe you were referring to me as the dwarf, as we've spoken a few times in RP. I'm Gamle. If Elders would get online, I would bring up the idea of allowing a few dwarves in, but none are ever on anymore, except Dr Dovahkiin every once in a while. EDIT: GOT ME A BURROW! CaptainSheepy 317 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Every time I RP with you little guys it's always enjoyable! But I can't remember the last time I saw one of you.. Just by skimming through this thread I think the problems are: - Entrance to Lenfarthing This is one of the major problems! The only entrance to Lenfarthing is walking through someone's large farm (how rude!) and going through the creepy Witches Woods. Both steer players away. - There's no real 'centre' to the town. I don't really think there should be a large lake right bam-smack in the middle of the town. Perhaps bring it forward towards the Malinor road a bit more so you can have a little circle going around the lake on the outside and possibly have a nice little courtyard filled with pumpkins and other halfling-y stuff where the frozen lake is now. - Kinda too big for you lil fellas. I mean no offence by this, but until the player base grows I think you should make it smaller. I love your burrows. I think you just need some more active players and then you can expand off into [insert cool halfling-named road here]. Also a note concerning the joining of other races with the Halflings....nah. Halflings are far to different and developed. Every race is different and combining two in one town would change the way they RP and it would steer away from what Halflings are actually like. If you made a nice centre of town with a grand pumpkin-y entrance I think it would fix the problem :) #JustAHighElf'sOpinion

Dwarves are quite different from halflings. Sure they drink and dance but they war, they mine, and they argue. Halflings do not. Halflings are peaceful and many would not enjoy dwarves immigrating and dominating Lenfarthing. And about moving our location. Lenfarthing is closer to spawn than Abresi! And yet people still walk all the way there. Every time I RP with you little guys it's always enjoyable! But I can't remember the last time I saw one of you.. Although I believe your other points are un-neccesary. We do have a center of town, The Lumpy Pumpkin, and the farm thing... it shows who the halflings are. EDIT: More active elders? Kaiser 2347 Share Posted October 20, 2013 I hate to be an ass but half of these suggestions seem like they're from non-halflings who have no idea what the Halfling's are like. Halflings would never move to the Dwarves or Elves, or Humans, or Orcs. They may d that if there was some extreme life-threatening monster or something, but it would be a rare sight to even see that. Len is far too large, I agree. Why some of you guys want MORE DAMN LAND is just confusing. Even so, we do have a town center by my idea, which is the Inn. I've done my fair share of talking about this to my friends but we all just agree the Inn is best than a huge burrow-town-center-thing. As for moving... maybe it would be best if Len was destroyed, and we had to move closer to spawn. That way, the halflings would carve out their own land- and make the town as big as they really need, like we did in Elysium (which worked out well, I say.) As for the players... We could all change a little for the best. It's not 100% to anyone exactly what to do in this situation, but the only clear-cut thing is we all need to have fun- with 2 active people, or 20. I myself have been cutting back on the old-grumpy RP, as to make everyone who's new happy. It's still wonderful, but all we really are-and should be- is a community of friends. As for the wars and what not- you all make me laugh. Nah, we don't wage wars! We conduct business differently! it's not what everyone wants- but while the orcs provide large, barbaric characters, the Druids tree-hugging characters, the Dwarves mine-loving brutes, the Halflings provide whacky fun, friendship, and exotic RP which most races are afraid to even touch. Look at us- worshipping a serial killer. Dalek has that weird cake-man which is bundles of fun. or Squid-man. So come to the halflings for our fun- and if not, to hell with you.
Lark 2227 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Sadly, I do believe this is true. Halflings simply aren't appealing to players because they just sit around, farm, drink ale and socialise. Sadly, this isn't what most players want. They want to be the daring adventurer or the courageous soldier or the filthy rich business man or the scheming villain. Sadly, few people are interested in playing a character that sits around drinking and talking all day As a person who enjoys playing a character that sits around drinking and talking all day, I take great offense to this.
