  6. "My love is lost in Norland....." "I named you Taliyu-Secret." Mother said to me the first time I met her. For me, it was a new revelation, a new beginning, and clearer future.... But I wonder who am I. I tried to find the answer by trying to find my ancestry. I failed. I tried to join many kinds of things, and tried to find love in people I met. I failed yet again..... One would say that a name is but a name. Another would say that a name is a prophecy. Heck, even others would see it as a prayer towards the bearer. I would say my name's an enigma, or a curse. Perhaps so, because my whole life is full of secrets. Secrets of my past, my present, and my future. Secrets of my closest ones. Secrets of how I should feel for my self.... A wandering soul, I was, and still am, until.... Until my last breath today, as I see the scarlet billows from my body. Until I started to lose my consciousness. Why? Because it seems that the Secret has its ending. Now I know my long sought answer. And no, it's not about how great I truly am, nor about whether I am loved or hated. But the true, honest, answer. It's cold, harsh, even painful, yes. But it gives me closure. "My love lost in Norland...." So long everyone. -Taliyu Kaeronin-

  8. [!] 12th of the Grand Harvest, 1778 At these dire times, a halfling priest, known by Jago Brownfolk, took arms against the inferis, along with the brave people of Al-Faiz. Alas, the fight was turned into a fatal consequence for the halfling. The moment of his death was brief. the inferis fired a devastating retaliation fire against the Al-Faiz people, raining them with hundreds of arrows. on that very moment, Jago saw his longtime friend, Ioannes Palaiologos, was about to be struck by those arrows. On his small body, tents of arrow bolts pierced, made some fatal wound. With it, he met his last moment he died a heroic death, and may his soul resides within the Seven Skies In nomine Patris, et Horenus, et Exalted Honorem, amen.

Marshland “Bip” scratches his forehead a little bit, looks a bit absent-minded, browsing the market stalls. after the well-dressed man asked him once again, he finally ask: “uhh.....is there, any work...for me, sir? is there any?” he blank-stared the well-dressed man. “we-well, as you can see, the city is full of opportunities! you can take any job you want, or you want to build your own shop?” the well-dressed man tried to be sincere in his words to Bip. “uuuh....Im hungry.....do you have any food?” Bip’s face would be as flat as ever, giving the well-dressed man a hard time. “heheh, I think I have some Monk Breads, do you want some?” when he heard the well-dressed man’s offer, Marshland “Bip” suddenly throw his tongue, and take the Monk Bread and directly swallow the whole bread. “Thank you sir...I think I’ll be going now.” he slowly walks inside the city...the well-dressed man vaguely can hear Bip’s croak from the distance...
  16. Seven Skies: A Theological Gateway for Open Canonism in the Future Written by: Jago Brownfolk (translated to common tongue) I. PREFACE As you know, my fellow clergymen, that I am a halfling. I was told that it was ages ago when a halfling did become a clergyman. And in this present time, I feel that my calling is as strong as any human clergyman has in their holy path to serve the Lord of the Canon. But the question arises in my heart: why am I the only one now? And take so long for a non-human to take a Clerical path? I’m going to discuss this matter in a theological discourse. I will divide this topic into three parts: the first is about our belief in the Seven Skies and how we can see the problem in today’s situation. The second part is about the four Clerical Disciplines, and the chance of every race to enter their most compatible Clerical Discipline if they are to become a clergyman. The third part is my conclusion about how we can see the future of Canonism and its clergymen, and what will be the impact of a more open approach towards the holy calling for every race. II. THE SEVEN SKIES All clergymen, even an Acolyte, must know about The Seven Skies. The Seventh is the place where the Lord of the Canon Himself resides and sits on His throne. The Sixth is where the first man and woman, and also the Exalted with their wifes and children live. The Fifth is for the Saints. The Fourth is for the Blessed ones. The Third is for His ministers who spread God’s word, also for crusaders, pious believers and charitable noblemen. The Second is for the Canonist who didn’t spread God's word. The last is the First sky, a place for every non-Canonist who applied the Virtue, consciously or unconsciously. The concept of the Seven Skies actually opens the chance for every race in this world -as long as the person is pious, and allowed by the Lord of the Canon to serve Him in specific calling- to live at least on the Second Sky when the person dies. The highest possibility is to reach the Fifth Sky, when the person receives the Lord’s grace to live solely for Him and to have a specific miracle. But despite that the Scrolls teach us that everyone can be His believers and also His servants, there are few non-human clergymen and even fewer saints and beatified. What happened here? Of course, I cannot say that there was no effort whatsoever to spread the faith to non-humans. And of course, I cannot say that the clergymen close the door for the non-humans to serve the Lord of the Canon. If that happened, I would not be an Acolyte now. But in this discourse, I want to propose something that I feel in my calling, something that maybe only non-human can explain: we need to make a serious reflection about the future of our faith. The one reflection that I can think of right now is about the chance of every race to serve Him, when they feel that is their calling to be clergymen. In the next chapter, I will discuss races that are the descendants of the four brothers, and the halfling race. III. RACES AND FOUR CLERICAL DISCIPLINES We know that the Four Brothers were created of four races: Elf, Orc, Dwarf, and Human. There are varieties of races now classified as sub-races. But I know my limitation to discuss the sub-races, and I hope others can complete this analysis about them in the relation to the Four Clerical Discipline. First, I will explain everything I know about races, and then I will explain briefly the Clerical Disciplines. Finally, I will propose the chance of every race to follow the compatible Clerical Discipline. The first is Elf. Elves are very distinct in their pursuit of knowledge. I even had a chance to visit Haelun’or, and they asked for the gift of knowledge to be allowed to enter the city. Their nature to be more seclusive can be seen as proud and anti-social. But when we see it from a more appreciative point of view, Elves are attracted to knowledge of the world’s workings. Of course, there are elves that are more active and sociable towards other races. The second is Orcs. When I think of Orcs, the first thing I relate to is power, battle, and bravery. They seek power as social standing, both in leadership and social life, and even in seeking a potential spouse. When we can see their principle in a more positive way, we can see them as a gallant and honorable race. For defending what they believe, they see it necessary to fight, even to shed their blood and sacrifice their life. The Third is Dwarves. Dwarves are famously seen as a secluded race. Not many people are able to see their majest homes inside the mountains. They are strong, tough, and fierce. But on other hand, they can be very friendly – of course with their distinct style and language. They also love to have parties with their kin and enjoy their togetherness. They hold to their honor and principles. Lastly, My people – halflings. We are often seen as ‘half-creature’ by other races. We don’t like to fight, love to be involved in gatherings and festivals. We don't even lock our home, because we believe what is mine, is also yours. Some of the halflings are also keen to travel, see the world and bring stories home for our friends and families. I can say that we have no agenda to be feared by other races, because our stature and behavior simply cannot be seen as fierce. But in modesty lies a potential to befriend anyone, as long as the others want to befriend us. Now, I will briefly explain about the Four Clerical Discipline, as we already have the document specifically discussing it. The first is Sybillism, with the characteristic to pull their devotees of the Discipline from social life, for seeking knowledge they crave. Although people seldom see them, they are known by their works, which is unparalleled by others. The second is Flamenism, which stresses honor, bravery, and vigor. They will defend the faith in the most literal way. The third is Epulonism, focusing on community, people and aiding the society through donations. They will keep the congregations intact because of their focus in building the people and their well-being. The last is Augurism, focusing on humility and sage life. Never stay in one place for too long, with the goal to spread the faith, with teaching and showing the kindness of the Lord through simple actions. They are humble and compassionate, which is important for the church preaching throughout the Empire. Now, I will not assign certain races to certain Clerical Disciplines. But I hope by comparing the characteristic of every race and Clerical Discipline, we can see something. What do I mean by that? I hope we can see the potential, that every race can serve the Lord through the clerical way. That is what I felt when I answered the Lord’s calling. And next, I will propose about the impact for the church if we are actively embracing other races to follow the clerical path. IV. THE IMPACT AND THE FUTURE OF CANNONISM I was recently doing some travelling to many places. And I’m not only visiting, but also discussing our faith to many people. One thing I heard the most: that they are surprised about my choice to follow the human religion. Can you relate to that? In my encounters, I hear that our faith is no more than a human religion, and not a universal invitation from our Lord. It is very disturbing for me. Furthermore, in several conversations, people do see me as an oddball, a non-human willingly serving the human religion. These things have to stop. But how can we stop it? I propose one thing: openness. Openness towards the possibility of other races actively being invited to serve as clergymen. Why? Why don’t we just go to every corner of the Empire, and preach our faith? There is one major problem: cultural gap. If we do have many fellow clergymen with different racial backgrounds, we can do many things. Every background has its own culture, and the one who understands the most is its own people. An Elf automatically knows the best way to preach other Elves, and the same goes for Orcs, Dwarves, Halflings, and other sub-races. Imagine if we use that possibility. Our faith is no longer seen as a human religion. In these dire times, we need bridges, not forts. And the openness is our bridge for the future. I can say that someday, we will see a mass, where a human sits besides an orc and an Elf. A halfling gives donations to help the congregation in the dwarven region. And so on. You know the Lord wants this, from the very time he gave the first man and woman four children, known as the Four Brothers. May the blessing from our Lord give the light to our ministries, Amen.
